This company had some different ideas:
VapeDroid C3D1 DNA250

We know VS had "Custom" boards made for their product. I would assume thats what the Proto boards are?
I took apart my C2D1 & it was a stock board, it had an add on board, added to it to make the Up/Down buttons vertical instead of horizontal, besides that it was a perfectly Stock DNA250 :)

I just sent an email over there asking who they were intended for, I also asked this " Also mentioned in the description is that the board won't power on without battery, is it just the screen or the board as well"

I'm trying to do a little experiment here but might have put some headphones on to detect if there is a difference. Here's what I'm wanting to determine: Does the air inlet slits offer much restriction to the mods air flow. I am a DL vaper and my only complaint with this device is the build up of liquid under the dip tip in the 510 piece. I'm thinking that I'm drawing too hard on it and sucking the juice up to there do to the restriction. Why headphones? Because I' using it with the cover removed to see if there is a noticeable difference in accumulation and the increased noise is hindering my judgement. My plan if it is different is to thin the area on the inside of the mod at the air slits using a Dremel, I'm not real wanting to do that though especially if it's not going to get me any improvement.

That was fast, reportedly " vs/s-body"
No answer to the other question.
This isn't making much sense to me, maybe they were for a mod that they were going to make but didn't or Evolv made them wrong or something.

I am guessing you are talking about the Billet Box. Yes that annoyed me in the beginning until I quickly swapped them out and replaced them with JMK Tips and the problem totally disappeared. Another advantage is all it takes is a quarter turn and you can remove the tank.

That was a fine looking mod! Also probably made before they out sourced their manufacturing to China! The Droids that came out of China, like my C1D2's have embarrassing build quality! The battery contacts & wiring are Not! high end Quality :( One of mine came DOA! the spring in the battery contact was collapsed :( I managed to fix it but the wire gauges used inside are sub standard :( I'm guessing thats why their partnership fell apart? I wouldn't want my name on a mod built like that!

I've been working on this Ambitions Mods C-Roll BF atty for a couple of days. The problem is it pops pretty good on the first fire. I've tried various things but this morning I wicked it with cotton bacon. I haven't vaped cotton other than drop in coils probably more than 3 years...maybe closer to 5. Anyway what a chore that was trying to get it in the coil compared to rayon. I kept tearing the wick in half. Still pops.
Except for that first cold fire it works perfect with rayon or cotton. Gee, it's like my 1st build or something (feels like it)

If it doesn't feel loose, check that the wicking is touching every wrap. Any space anywhere will cause it to pop. But that isn't the only reason for popping.

How tiny is that ID? Unless it is like 2mm or less, I can't imagine tearing in half, unless it is the quality of cotton. Cotton has always been easier for me. Since it compresses and expands very easily. Rayon not so much. Plus Rayon tastes like pulp cellulose to me. The cotton I use is Japanese organic cotton that is unbleached and even has the cotton seeds in it. I never found the seeds effect anything if you pick them out or not.

I always used CVS sterile cotton balls before rayon and found it easy to work with. I should have used that as I still have plenty. ID is 2.7 mm, I was ripping it in half just rolling it.
I found the first wrap with a larger diameter as it looped under, that's corrected and has greatly eliminated the popping. I'm back using rayon now too.
