Anybody ever seen these Vape Snaps before? First time I've seen them and NCC mentioned them on the Bargain Bin Treasures thread. Looks like they will make rebuilding easier too. I might also be able to get a wire in there too so I can hook up my scopes to the 510. :D

I can see them playing real havoc with TC, different resistance every time you snap it on/off.

I imagine you could mod one of these up for scope probe access quite easily since they have an acrylic tank.

Edit: Didn't notice they were OOS, but I imagine other places have them or something similar. ;)

It might. But if the 510 pin is gold plated, it might not be a problem. The grounding shouldn't be a problem since it is so huge. Heaven forbid if it is chrome plated brass then all bets are off. But it looks like SS to me so it should be ok. But since I ordered some, I guess I'll find out.

Yes, I looked at them before and they were manufactured in 2014 or before. And I don't think they would be built to handle high wattage. Nor would they care about resistance stability back then either. So that would be iffy at best. But the last couple of years I haven't found any in stock anywhere anyway.

The easy way to connect up a scope is just use an RDA with the top cap removed. But then you get all of that heat (dangerous to a $100 scope probe) and without the cap and can't check it while vaping. Well there is that Kiss of the Dragon vaping without a top cap, but you never hear of anybody practicing this very long (I bet once their tongue singes on the hot coil, they never try that again).

Magnets just aren't going to make a good enough connection for TC :(
It's a nice novelty :) But No Go for TC :(

You would think. And I really didn't think those magnetic USB connectors would work well either. But surprisingly, they work as well as wired data cables. Plus I am thinking of the vape snap, the whole thing probably isn't a magnetic, just a embedded magnetic ring and the rest is SS (I hope).

I just did that yesterday. I accidentally knocked over my coffee cup, about 4 mods found sitting in a pool of coffee, I have a stack of four laptops on top of each one and it ran under the bottom one, and dripped on my wireless keyboard and mouse.

I think I lucked out. The bottom laptop I have thick rubber feet to raise it off of the desk (for extra airflow), the mods seems just fine after cleaning, and the keyboard would randomly hit keys for about a couple of hours and then it worked normally. So I think everything is ok. I didn't get a drop on the carpet either. :D

My desktop dn speed is now double what it was before, my iPhone connected to the 5 Ghz band is 4X faster. The 2.4 band is the same 60 Mbs dn.
I'm not sure why my desktop speed was only half before as the Apple routers have 10/100/1000 ports and I even set them to 1000 full duplex.

A while back I spilled most of a glass of beer all over the mods sitting on my desk. I cleaned it up real good I thought but failed to notice the beer went under the lid on my scanner (all in one printer). Week later when I went to raise the lid on the scanner it was glued shut, that beer was like Super Glue almost.

Damn iPhone and Apple! Battery reports 99% capacity left and the battery swelled and broke the phone! I hate internal battery devices. Always a PIA! :-x

Well that is why I buy devices in pairs. The spare quickly replaced the broken one. Nobody, not even Apple could get you up and running again faster than yourself. :D

iPhone Batteries are inexpensive & not that hard to change :) Amazon is a good place to look for a replacement :) While your there an "I Fix It" tool kit is a good idea too, those tool kits they include with the replacement batteries, are more likely to strip your tiny screws :(

That is assuming the swelled battery didn't damage anything Steamer861. You still need a heat gun to loosen the screen glue to pop off the screen to get to the battery. On eBay, the batteries are just 4 bucks with free shipping. My Samsung phones I just snap off the back and slide the old battery out and insert a new one. It takes like 10 seconds. That is a much nicer system.
