Ever heard of an aluminum air battery? Me either. But apparently they have been around since the 1960's. They are lighter and stores 4 times more charge than lithium. Doesn't require any rare Earth elements either. They even have some test electric cars running well on aluminum air
batteries.
Sounds great! So why don't we see them around? Well they are non-chargeable. Ouch! The aluminum gets recycled and then remanufactured once again.
