We're trying to down size and the other day I was going through my tool chests and started pulling out specialized tools to get rid of. When the heck am I ever going to use brake pliers for drum brakes and springs. And I can't remember the last time I used a dwell meter or timing light. Ain't gonna need that stuff any more either.

There are still people like me who still uses them. As some people collect antique cars and some live on a farm with older equipment. My farm tractor with a front-end loader, for example is going to be 70 years old next year. And it still gets the job done like it did 69 years ago. I got it about 50 years ago and nothing major had ever happened to it yet. They just don't make them like they used to. ;)

A few days ago a the local Ford dealership I paid $102 for the Fusion's oil change and $77 for the Taurus. They were 70 each the last two times before that and $49.95 before that.
I need to find another place.
Oh, and they gave me a $600 est. for the Fusion's rear brakes. The pads I got were $30. Their estimate included two new rotors but I'm not changing them.
I can get a pair for $80, they're slip on. In a shop it would take less than an hours work.

When I lived in SoCal, some of my friends went south of the border for auto service (and like Cheech & Chong for other things). Even gasoline was dirt cheap. But that was decades ago during the hippie era and surfer craze. Is it still like that?

OK now you just made me think of my first cross country drive from Philadelphia to LA during the hippie era. I still remember 17 cents/gallon gasoline in Texas. And was kind of shocked to realize, yes they do it in Texas. A big ol' convertible with two guys in 20 gallon hats passed us doing about 80 miles/hr and the hood ornament were the horns from a long horn steer. I knew then I wasn't back in Philly.

Oh yes! I first heard that and I automatically thought that was a myth. Then I drove through there and learned otherwise. ;)

It's a good place for dentistry and medical services down there. They come here for gas and shopping. Their gas is sorry. Cheaper but not good gas. Diesel is big down there.

That is a record dwcraig1. The rest of the country is about 2 bucks per gallon lower, but a few more months I'm sure it will be much higher. Maybe even 7 bucks a gallon by then. :(
I'm glad I'm only 9 miles from where I work. The price of diesel is about the same and that is causing everything to go up.
That's 9 no traffic miles as I work nights, in the morning coming home everyone is going the other way.

My tool only has two sizes (disc is reversable) but covers most cars both US and Japanese.
I thought I'd have a look at what Snap On has to offer.

BluePoint brand is items that are made for them by other manufacturers.

The mystery deepens! Last month twice my iPhone drained the battery overnight. Last night it happened again. The battery info shows no apps using the battery, but it does shows the massive battery drain without a reason.

Now something else I noticed happened last night. My VTech cordless phone also drained its battery last night. The other 3 VTech phones are fine downstairs. It happens about as often as it happens to my iPhone. But in the past, I always blamed I probably didn't place it in the charger correctly. But last night I placed it by the nightstand fully charged. It will run in standby for like 30 hours plus without a problem. But last night, completely dead in 5 hours. The low battery warning is annoying and would have woken me up. It must have drained quite fast to skip the low battery warning which normally repeats for hours.

Now I am at a loss to explain why both are happening at the same time. Any ideas?
