Here's a theme.. I did NOT make it, just tweaked it. Adjusted and added the profile pictures. Altered the new coil image to show resistance. Included 2 types of profile selections - elements and thermometer. Also made a Temperature Dominant profile and Power Only profile picture. Over all a Clean, easy to read, nice graphics, nothing "stupid" in there (I hate those) theme. As far as I know, it should work fine and display properly.

Did a simple ERM+ secondary welcome screen with the evolv logo. I tried centering it, but it didn't look right to me, I guess because of the + symbol - looked better this way.

Again, I don't know how to host a file for download any better than this, so if someone has a way to share this better - by all means, do so. I don't even know how long this server keeps files up? (this was the first link in google for file sharing free) Anway again to be clear, I take NO credit for this - just sharing my tweaks.

So I dry burnt my coil and wicked it at work but never put it into EScribe till later.
Here it is:

I ended up having the put in another coil as the 28 gauge twisted ss430 was overly soft, almost Ni soft, I mangled it.
Here I'm happy again:

I'm sorry... I don't fully understand what I am reading. Seriously. Can someone break this down into simple explanation for me. What is bad and what is good here? (sorry, but I've never fully understood escribe)

I march to the beat of a different drummer perhaps with TC. If I see my "expected" wattage throttling down because it hit the set temp I figure my wick is not as wet as it should be.
EScribe/device Monitor has really let me improve my wicking methods, no guess work.
I try to stay just under set temp, at least for the 1st couple seconds.

Interesting, never thought of it that way, what are you using for wicking?

Rayon...Cellucotton

Nice, it's great stuff isn't it? I love rayon but I've been away from building coils for some time, now I'm building different atty's then I had before and now struggle with getting the right amount in the coil and thinning the tails correctly. Each atty and style of coil means a change in how to wick it, at least that's my experience. Tails, in the past I had found less is better, much less. I have had tails so thin I was sure they would never work but was amazed they do. I cut on an angle and fanned so the ends of the fibers just lie on and cover the feed holes or slots feeds well and no leaks, but I use very high VG ratio's. I followed Jeremy for a long time from early on but dropped off the thread about a year ago, don't know if much info has changed since then, I should resubscribe now that I'm back to building my own coils again.

I'm intrigued with your idea of using monitor to tweak your wicking and would love to see some pics, if you have any, and read tips on how the curves and tweaks are related. What are you changing to get the curve your looking for, amount in the coil, tails or both?

I use a Coilmaster V3. I ditched Nickel after less than 5 attempts, then moved to Ti.

To get even spacing on my coils, I actually wrap two parallel wires at the same time; one Ti wire, the other a kanthal wire of equal or lesser gauge (because I have so much laying around taking up vape storage space). My whole process is too OCD detailed to type out, but I don't unwrap the kanthal wire from the pole until I've adjusted the coil in the posts to where I'm ready to tighten the screws.

I also use ReadyXWick...4mm for the Velocity RDA and 2.7mm for the Aromamizer.

Must be interesting to watch you unwrap the kanthal from an installed coil without disturbing the one you want. Language must be quite colorful during this process. At least I know it would be if it was me.

I have seen some that will do a double wrap of TI or whatever, and then just "unscrew" the two coils from each other. Never tried it myself, but utube make it look doable.

Me, I just do a 5/6 wrap around a drillbit, usually a #35 or so, and then just do two of them. Leaving the coil on the drillbit shank while I snug down the leads, and then use the drillbit to center coil after both leads are secure. If they arent exactly symmetrical, I dont worry about it unless I get a bad vape, then I will just start over.

I don't, actually. I'll go all the way up to the point where I'd tighten down the screws, then I'll draw the coil legs out of the post holes, unwrap the kanthal from the pole, reinsert the coil legs into the post holes with the coil still on the pole, tighten down the screws, then "unscrew" the pole from the coil (sometimes, it's really tightly wound).

Oh, I forgot to mention that I wrap my coils on the pole that's the next size down; so, 2.5mm pole for a 3.0mm coil. After that, I'll "screw" the 2.5mm coil onto the 3.0mm coil to ensure consistency of diameter.

Told ya it's OCD, LOL

I'll stick with the coilmaster stretch & compress method cause just plain lazy beats OCD any day of the week for me. LOL!

Sitting down, facing forward.
I was torching my Ti that I got from Unkamen, it needed it for two reasons. One - It was filthy as heck with oil and gum. Two - It was more like working with a clock spring as it came off the roll. So I'd torch it to a blueish color, clean the heck out of it with IPA and a scrub pad, even after the torch treatment. Worked fine after that, but a real PITA when you're in a rush.

I finally ran out of that wire and ordered from Temco. Clean as a whistle and just the right temper for coil winding. No different than kanthal, which I also torch when I use it.
