The box actually contained 9mm brass packed in corn husk media and was being tumbled so the customer received polished brass.

Is it me or was the person shooting the video a complete idiot? All the person had to do (notice the PC here with "person") was give the box shove or turn it 90 degrees.

Or, that's how the guy polishes his brass at work, if I could, I would! :)

Want a laugh...

I was cleaning out my drawers and found my first attempt at ecigs from back around 2009-10:

That attempt failed horribly. It wasnt until a few years later when I discovered an EGO-like battery that I finally decided this might work for me. Of course I went from EGO to Vamo in a week or two, but the Vamos worked for me for a long time.

Those are my Supremes, 2 weeks and counting now just tumbling there :(
Canada Post Union wont allow the workers to approach the package (unsafe work situation) :(

That's the same path I took, but I was a couple years behind you. I still have a Vamo somewhere and a bunch of Ego Twist's with lot's of life left in them. It's funny, I looked at what folks used on this forum and the amount of gear they bought on a regular basis. I swore I'd never become someone who bought lots of gear, all I wanted was an inexpensive setup with redundancy so I'd never not be able to vape and not to ever smoke again. But that plan went out the window when I discovered that vaping was constantly getting better and safer. Now it's become my new hobby. :)

The Vamos were actually a decent mod in their day. A good value and worked well considering the tech available then. A lot folks were big on Provari back then, but I was perfectly happy with the Vamos, much more bang for the buck. I actually ran some co-ops on them, until FT started carrying them.

For those of you developing enclosures for the DNA75, here is an observation worth considering.

Lipos performed better for me than 18650s did. The Lipos only had about half of the voltage sag under load (ie when firing). On the flip side, Evolv compensates for this in a way, with a lower cell soft cutoff for 18650s. So at the end of the day both solutions gave similar longevity. The Lipos didnt hit cell soft cutoff as fast because of lower voltage sag, but 18650s could run to a lower voltage than you would want to run a Lipo.

I still think Lipos are a better solution. My experience with batteries are that they perform better and last longer if you dont run them at their maximum capabilities. With an 18650 you are pretty much maxing out it's current on a regular basis. A good C rated Lipo never even breaks out a sweat, 28A doesnt come anywhere close to it's maximum current.

My :2c: for whatever it is worth....

Got me to thinking about my failed attempt with green smoke and then finding ECF because I really wanted to succeed and there weren't any vape shops here back then which made me go back and look at my first post here.

I just "disposed" of my first attempt, the ProSmoke...should have been called BigJoke although it did get me interested enough to look around and find Volt stuff. I just "piffed" my Vamos to someone who got robbed and all their mods were among the things stolen.

The Vamo was great value for the money. Once I found out how to rebuild atomizers and started "customizing" builds for them they were actually outstanding for the day and power limitations.

Speaking of LiPO vs IMR for the DNA75 soes anyone have a source for high mah, 1S, LiPO packs or are we stuck ordering a pile of low mah and matching them?

I used these, at 20A a piece two of them together would be gracious plenty enough current.

How accurate is the sizing on that battery, Mike, specifically the thickness? I'm thinking I cold stuff four into my "proposed" DNA75 enclosure which wouldn't be the epic size you managed, but still quite respectable. The problem is having to buy a decent charger to accurately measure their internal resistance for matching porpoises.

Pretty darn close on measurements. I just measured a stack of 3 of them and thickness came out 18.18mm. The height and width can actually be reduced by about 1mm, vs quoted spec, by folding the edges well.

As for internal resistance, I am not sure the view is worth the climb for just 1 Mod. I only did it because I had a pile of about 12 of those cells, and they had been sitting a while, so I went the extra mile to match them. Really, I didnt see much difference between any of them in that batch anyway.

If I were to buy 3 cells today, from the same vendor and at the same time, assuming they all appeared identical I wouldnt worry about resistance matching at all. When hooked in parallel, the charge is going to balance out between all 3 anyway.

Well, I my case it would be at two mods, one for the Mrs. and one for me. Then there is the future to think about and, besides, it's an excuse for another toy :)
I tried to save you from going down the rabbit hole, but........

Problem with that is separating then re-soldering the cells. I'm a little "squirrely" about soldering them, let alone taking it apart in the first place. Mr. Murphy is my constant companion. It would be so nice to find a pre-made 3000 or 4000 mah pack, but home brew looks like the only way to get 'er done in this case.

Got some vape mail today, but so as not to upset Steamer I will refrain from stating what it was. I got two of them.

To console him I will state that the Varitube 510 of the DNA75w VTC has been added to the same file collection on Thingiverse and that one was better for clearance & grounding.
