I went in for a 25,000 mile checkup today and the sawbones says I'm good for another 25,000. It has been really hot here, nasty hot. The temps are above 95 and the "feels like" has be sitting around 105. Unfortunately there's only so much clothing you can shed before you get laughed at or arrested. I don't mind being laughed at but being arrested is a definite no go.
90 here today but schweddy.
Long pants & sleeves when I hike because I'd rather be schweddy than eaten by bugs.
Even my Puerto Rican rescue dog was hot lol.

Does JB weld conduct Electricity ? or is it an insulator?

Good question, I had to check. FAQs

Q: Will J-B Weld conduct electricity?
A: No. J-B Weld is not considered to be a conductor. It is an insulator.

Last month while at the local hardware store I saw they had the BIG .5 oz tubes for $18 plus tax, should last me a week or two LoL

Sitting down, facing forward.
I use Deet, nothing like the smell of deet first thing in the morning. The mosquitos around here will bleed you dry in about a minute. The there's the flies. Now the weather alert is going off every few minutes with severe thunderstorm warnings. All the joys of summer.

Same here, I keep can's of deet in the car, shop, back porch and in the pocket of the seat cover on the john deere. It's more the damn deer flies, chigger's around here then the mosquito's, as you approach the wood line at the back of the yard you can see swarms of the deer flies, like mini-black clouds. We have lot's of tick's and horse flies too.

Yeah, there has to be a way the manufactures of these resistance wire measure the resistance, I bet they also measure temp curves. You can bet they pull samples during the production and test them, it would be interesting to see the equipment they use and how it works. Wonder if there is a simpler way that would still give us accurate enough info for our use with having to spend big bucks on equipment, if it ever came to the point we needed to. I love learning how things work, had that drive since I was a wee lad.

I have spent countless hours researching the process and equipment used to measure the Temperature Coefficient of Resistance (TCR) of metals and have come up with squat.
What we do know is that the TCR of a metal or alloy is derived from resistivity measurements at given temperatures. That means the TFR (curve) came first!! The TCR value assigned to a metal or alloy is just an AVERAGE of the change in resistance per degree of temp change.
You could produce your own tfr curve for use on a dna mod by using a precision thermocouple, an oven and a 4-wire ohm meter. Read your res at room temp and every 100° increase in temp up to your oven's max temp and write your own .csv file. Done

Not sure if the leads (clamp) of my Kelvin Ohmmeter would handle the temp of an oven at 400-500 degrees.

Horse flies = Orange-ish body wings and shaped like a small housefly. Deer flies = bigger, blackish bodies but just as fast and furious? or the other way around?
They weren't out last time I visited the pond less than a week ago but yesterday there were a few of the lil orangey buggers. Next time will be swarms.
I wear a leather Stetson and they fly around above it but stay outta my face.
It confuses the hell out of them for some hilarious reason.

If the wires are insulated with neoprene or pvc then no, if they're insulated with teflon then your safe up to 550°f. The melting point for teflon is approx 625.
Another option is to buy a couple of elcheapo oven probes and use the wires and insulation from those. Most of them have ceramic jacketing.
Come to think of it a 4-wire ohm meter would not even be necessary bc the tfr (temperature factor of resistance) is derived from delta resistance (a multiplier based on res change from one temp to another).
For our purposes the base/cold res in the tfr curve at room temp (68°f) is 1 ohm, all subsequent tfr values are products of 1 ohm times the change in res at each temp measured.

We've caught some (probably) edible ones, but no we never eat them, the bass in the Potomac aren't too bad looking, probably bc they're more picky about what they eat but you should see the catfish. nasty.

Sometimes we have put the fish in the live well and drop them off at a fishing spot next to the ramp on the way back.

Also, not related to vaping but this is kind of a cool bit of tech, what I'm doing in that first pic is locking in a GPS position on my phone via Bluetooth with the electric motor, which it then goes to and "anchors" it in that spot. One of the things you can do is also program it to travel back and forth between saved positions. Also I sometimes will put the motor down after I put in the water & remote control it to a spot out of the way while I park the truck, esp. if there's a line behind me. Our boat (the black one) is actually aluminum, so that little motor moves it around pretty good.

We came in a little too fast with the gas motor and banged up the side a few times, now I saved GPS slots for all those boat slips next to the ramp [emoji38]
