Fused Clapton, dual 26g TI, wrapped in SS316 40g, working great in TC using standard TI TFR.
I was surprised when I looked it up in Steam Engine, seems the core strands are what really count towards the TFR, not so much the wrap. Flavor is pretty good and seems to be improving as coil breaks in.

Used a drill, vise, fishing swivel, and a spool minder. Had to loosen spool minder a bit more than usual as that 40g breaks easy. Pulsed it a bit to work the hot spots out of the SS before wicking and was good to go. Seems the wrap itself can have a hot spot or two until pulsed.

Damn Mike, I'd be proud of that wrapping job!

That sure seems like a lot of work for a coil
I have discovered that these fused claptons ie act like a wick. All the nooks and crannys suck the juice in. You can watch it boil furiously on the surface of a coil. Makes for a much nicer hit compared to a straight wire coil.

As for work, the first 3 attempts were. After that it wasnt much work at all. Once you develop the "feel" for it the only work is holding the drill button for a while, and I may even rig that as my finger started getting fatigued.

I bet it is, but there can be enjoyment in the pursuit. Just like back in the day when I use to chase the girls, the chase was usually as much fun as catching them. Or maybe I wasn't such the ladies man as I thought and they caught me... Either way I had fun! :)

Lot of work to bake a cake too! But nothing beats some thing you made with your own hands :)

^This...I ended up switching how I hold the drill; basically hold the button down with my thumb, down near the base joint.

What you guys need is a drill chuck mounted on a motor you can set on the desk and run it off a sewing machine pedal controller.

After Dad passed I was cleaning out his work shop, I found an old GE 1/3 horse electric motor with chuck mounted to it. Someone had made a arbor that would slide over the shaft, held in place with set screws with a Morris taper for mounting a chuck. I mounted the motor onto a 3/8" thick steel plate, glued a sheet of rubber to the bottom of the plate to keep it from sliding around on the bench. I use it for many things, like when I made the switch buttons out of shelf pins for my DNA200 builds in the hammond boxes. I spun the pins in the chuck acting like a mini lathe, used files to shape the pins and a dremel for a cutoff tool. But I use it mostly for prepping once fired rifle brass when reloading, it will hold the case mouth chamfering tool and the pocket primer tool.

Got a bit of charge on the camera.

The 2 Tony B attys I got from Source More for 14$ each came today :)
These are pretty impressive! A little big, But nice for the no spit back.
There 22's & fit nice on my older BF'ers, there nicely made.
I set the coils way high off the deck so I get air right on the side of the coil.
I used a simple round wire, cause there only 40 watt mods.
Flavours not bad :) Good buy for 14$ each :D
