Looking at the picture of the cabinet with the pot, you need to get more stuff, fast! :hubba:
kiba probably pulled out all the odds and ends to make sure he had an uncluttered pic ;)

Take it from someone who found out the hard way: Never, ever "compact" the trash in the can by pushing down on it in a setup like that.
yup! and even with the rails on the bottom of the cabinet it spells disaster. compacting with the trash can pulled out i undid all my handiwork!

why
Problem is the guy before us took that with him, so there's no tray in there like the rest of them. Plus we have like 4 types of recyclable crap already out (btw I hate it, I have to drive this crap over in my car bc our association only does trash). Also I finished it last night, it ended up ok, I need to put a handle on the front & put zip ties on the back rail to stop it, but I think it ended up alright, definitely its the biggest one that'll fit in there.

lol, we just moved, since we're getting new things we left a bunch of stuff for my cousin or he'd of had nothing, I also got rid of most of the items we had 2x/3x/4x/etc... plus, there's stuff in there, you just can't see it

Looks like a normal bachelor's kitchen cabinet to me.

Why would anyone need more than one pot?

Wait, let me ask my wife. [emoji38]

It's true though, you really don't. Especially when you start having like, 6 of the same size pot.

We had one like this before, I just put my foot under it when mashing down the trash, or if its pretty dense from being mashed a few times, pull it off the rails & set it on the ground first.

What do you mean?

Edit, my bad, like this one. That one was missing out of a cabinet too but I just happened to find it minus the wheels.

Or maybe route a 1" x 4" oval cutout? Girlfriend friendlier!

why not just drill a 1" hole for your finger?

But I already left that space in front for a handle

Here's another thing I've been wondering about, we have a brand new 73 gallon (tank style) water heater, but it gets cold after 25 minutes, like one time I was giving myself a haircut in there, another time I had turned it one & realized I forgot something for work, other times it's me taking a shower after my gf or laundry or w/e but I've noticed that around 25 minutes is where it starts to run cold, is that normal? We didn't put it in, if I'd of been the one I'd of gone tankless.

I also didn't get home in time to put in the filters today so I'll have more time to think it over, probably next week bc now I'm not sure which one to get. For now though we've still got the whole house one which will do fine for the time being.

25 minutes in a shower sounds about right. Mine only lasts about 15-20 minutes but I took the damn water saver thing out of my shower head, I like a lot of water when I shower but it drains the tank faster.

One thing you can do is bump up the thermostat on your hot water tank. Hotter water means you need less of it, ie you mix in more cold.

How do you take the thing out? Mine is on Christmas tree rn, after that there's hot, very hot, and scalding. Christmas tree is 120F, I think?

The water saver is inside the shower head. Usually it's a sort of washer that fits in at the joint where the shower head threads onto the stem. There may be other, hard plastic parts that restrict flow as well under that "washer". Creative use of an Exacto or razor knife can remedy that situation.

We have a 40 gallon tank but it's "quick recovery". It was installed when the house was built, about 20 years ago, and we can take back to back showers after doing the dishes without running out of hot water. The last one to shower does have to keep turning up the hot water towards the end of the shower. If we want to be absolutely sure we don't run out of hot water, we just turn on the oil heater. The way our system is set up we can heat hot water with oil or electric. The oil burner has "instant" recovery so we never run out if that's on. The tank, and mixer valves, are all set to 120F.

73 gallons is a big tank. Check what the thermostats are set to. Flip the breaker for the tank off, then check the resistance of each element. With the breaker back on and the water cool, check that both elements get power. Note that some tanks are designed for non-simultaneous operation of the elements.

It does have a somewhat fast recovery, yesterday my gf said she took a shower 5 min after me and never ran out of hot water

It's a gas one but the pilot looks strong. I had to pull off a panel for that lol.

Are you sure "Christmas Tree" isnt "Vacation Mode"?

Nice, I'm going to do that to ours, with the whole house filter in, pressure is reduced.

I figures this was how it was supposed to be, I put it on A for a while but it felt very hot... should I put it back on A?

I'd try it on "A" and see how it does. Your gas bill will go up though.

I guess a pressure drop may be more noticeable from some type of filters more than others. The valving on ours allows it to be bypassed and when I installed it it was "off line" for two days during the initial backwash to clear the fine grit from the filter media. We noticed no significant change in pressure once it was switched in line. I've considered adding a sediment filter ahead of the main filter and would expect that, a paper element style, to drop a little pressure. Actually, it's not really pressure but flow restriction that your seeing and it effectively drops the output pressure.
