I must be doing something wrong cigatron. As depending on which week, sometimes I prefer my vacuum tanks and sometimes its my squonkers for flavor. Although oddly, I usually run SS in my tanks and nickel in my RDAs. And I said for 3 years I can't taste nickel at all. But I believe I am starting too and I don't like it. As a side note, I used to say that about Kanthal too. Now if I vape Kanthal, all I taste is iron.

What's the difference between a stock Aromamizer and a trusty modified one?

I'm assuming, He has ground the tabs off the deck? The OG Mizer some time had an issue with the deck lining up with the Air Flow holes :( So some people had ground off the deck tabs to get proper alignment :) This issue was fixed with the later models, starting with the V1 Supreme :)
Bill have you ever tried titanium wire? A few of Us here use it & swear by it :)

No I haven't. I was thinking about putting in an order for some SS to replace my nickel coils and see if this will improve things (although I do have a spool of SS here that I never used yet). But now you got me thinking about titanium again. Maybe I'll just pick up some titanium wire instead and give that a whirl. :)

Although titanium is a bit springy, even more so than Kanthal. And then you have just the heat from a Bic lighter is enough to cause titanium to ignite.

Most any any metal will ignite and burn if the shavings are fine enough. It's pretty much a question of surface area to mass and getting the density right. You can get the same results with 0000 steel wool...

Bill, you can use a drill to spin the Titanium wire, this makes it less springy :)
I only use Ti in TC & don't glow it red hot, I do this just for precautionary measure, cause of the white residue that can be created by over heating Ti wire.

I have been using Ti for years now, & swear by it :) SS430 also works fine in TC, but I find it lacks the flavour notes Ti produces.

Sitting down, facing forward.
I've dabbled with all the "popular", non exotic, TC wires. SS312 just doesn't make the grade. SS430 is OK and handy for a higher resistance when needed, but Ti is my go to, 26 gauge Ti just seems to work best for me.

Oh yeah, Ti from Temco doesn't seem springy at all and works well with the stock curves. The SS430 I have is 28 gauge from unkamen and it's like a coil spring. I temper that to a dull red with a butane torch just to get it to make a good coil. Again, stock curve, for SS430, works well.

    ... starting with the V1 Supreme :)
I'm using mine with the single coil deck @3.5mm and not blown away. What size coil you guys using?

Yup, mainly in my single coil mods. Great battery life as it doesn't take alot to heat, and by the time I remove the RDA and refill my squonker, the coil's back to 'ambient' temp. No TC issues
but I find it lacks the flavour notes Ti produces.
I don't notice any difference between Ti and SS

    Same for me.

I'm using a 2mm ID coil, I agree it's good, but I have similar style (single coil) deck atty's that work a little better than the V1 in this config.
Also forgot to mention, if the coil is up a bit higher than the posts, so the air flow hits the bottom of the coil it improves the flavour :)
I do how ever get better results with a single coli in the Plus with the postless deck :)
The new Supreme V2.1 has a properly configured post-less deck, I have not seen it for sale as just a replacement deck, as of yet. I would like to try it, as the properly configured post-less deck on the Plus works excellent for me :)

I find a noticeable difference! I have several setups, I changed to 430ss in TC, with very familiar juices. IMO there are certain subtle flavour notes missing with SS430.
    Your results may vary?

The bottom of tank was lightly sanded so that 2 of the 4 airflow holes line up with the center of coils. The other 2 airflow holes have been reduced to .070" diameter for better juice flow during a pull. I threw away the pita silly-con afc rings as they are no longer required.

SubTankSupply supposedly has the new (V2.1) ones in stock but the web page hasn't been updated.

The best build I found for the single coil deck was to pif it to a buddy. ;) To much whistle on the V1. I don't faff around with coil height/size for whistle reduction, the Oumier Wasp didn't live long here either and duals are just so much better in the Supreme IMHO. We shall see what the new single coil tank from Steam Crave has to offer when it drops eventually.
