I tried posting the link, but it won't let me.

MikeyConti: Beware, the one on ecig.com is the Mod ALONE, No batteries, charger nothing! Luckily I asked before ordering!! - VU forum

I went back to the listing, used the chat to ask, first the gal (Pam) said the battery and charger was sold separate. I think she is the weekend chat person and looking at the charger and bigger battery pack listed as separate. When I questioned that and pointed out a few things there was a long pause then she came back and said it does come with a battery LoL.

Yes red. It must have been a popular choice since they kept pushing the ship date.

I have one of those as well. I think I picked it up for $80. Works really well. It is my 'at work' mod. I am interested how you upgraded the 510 on the SMY.

Agreed. The USB charging goes really quick. I almost bought an extra battery but decided against it. Since I pretty much use the Hotcig at work, it lasts the day. If it is too low when I get how, I just grab another DNA200 mod.

On my Hotcig I was going to replace the 510 with a VariTube version 1 510, I have a tap. When I took it apart I found the 510 insert had an almost identical insulator so I just left the 510 insert in the mod, nothing wrong with it, nice stainless and installed well. I took the insulator, center pin, spring and bottom cap off a VT 510 and used those to replace the HotCig parts, I also used a heavier wire. A couple mods I've used on the VT parts, I sand down the insulator a little, just enough so the bottom cap screws all the way down to the shoulder on the insulator, this puts more tension on the spring. I also stretch the spring a little, between those two tricks it increases the spring tension a lot on the center pin. I have a few that have been in use for almost a year now and none of them have weaken, I have zero issues with jumping ohm readings so long as I keep them clean, as you should with any 510. :)

They look great KTM! Wow those are some big threaded 510 holes, not something I'd want to tap my eye and hand! Nice looking and beefy 510's though, what ya think of them?
They're very similar to the Evolv 510 and the one on the v200.

Nice work! Thanks for the information. I will have to get a VT 510 and give it a shot on mine.

I got my "blemished" enclosure from mod crate for $28 to do a DNA75 build for my wife. I really don't know what is so blemished about it, because it looks fine to me.

I also got a couple of their 510s since the box was already drilled for them. They are pretty hefty. The spring seems pretty stiff and the c-clip is much bigger than the evolv 510s.

You'll see a good improvement on the spring tension of the center pin. Those VT parts are a lot like the HotCig parts, but the HC uses a smaller spring made from lighter wire. I was surprised how whimpy the spring was when I saw it, they also used the min rated wire. That has been my only complaint with the HC, it's solid, small, nicely made, works great and what ever the coating is on the mod, it is very durable. Wish I could find out what it is, I'd love to use it on my other mods.

Get a spare insulator or two, just in case.... I put a sheet of 320 wet or dry sand paper on the bench then held the insulator and move it across the paper. It's kind of hard to sand those little buggers and make it flat/even, hard to hold them with your fingers and they like to tilt when sanding. Sand a little, check, if off to one side tilt it to bring it back. If you don't get it close to even it's hard to screw the cap on square and it's easy to cross thread, go slow and keep a close eye on it when screwing it on. I used tweezers, open so not griping the wire, use them to hold press toward the insulator, gently, then used small set of smooth jawed needle nose pliers to turn the cap, once started squarely it's easy, getting it started and not cross threaded is the hard part. Like I say, get a couple spares... LoL

One other thing, this is for any brass 510 center pin, well most of them. If you get one that has a little nub in the very center left from machining an easy fix if set the center pin on something metal, flat and soild, use a good flat pin punch and set it on the nub then "tap" a time or two. That will drive that nub back into the brass and it will be nice and flat. You want a nice flat center pin to make full contact with the atty 510, if they have a nub then your not getting full contact. I've tried sanding and filing and it's too hard to get the top square, besides some are gold plated and you don't want to file those, using the punch won't hurt the plating.

Make sure you use a good punch that's flat, true, smooth and not beat up.

I've been using VT510's for almost 2 yrs now and they're pretty awesome. Functionally, not much different than the Evolv 510. I've never had drifting resistances on any mod with a VT510. Actually, I've never had any issues with them at all.

The 3 Silo's I posted are the $28 deal too. I'm glad I got 3 of them at once because they're not including the 510 now. The reason they're in the bargain bin is because the buttons don't fit the enclosure very well. The item description says you need to file the case but I filed the buttons to fit. Just the up/down buttons really. The fire fits but is very snug and just enough clearance to move/fire. The up/down buttons are too squared off so if you round the edges, it will fit fine. You don't need to take much off, maybe .2mm.

Also, the case screws are too long. You need 3/4" but the included screws are 1 1/4" long. I cut them at around 6mm of thread and dremeled the rough edges off. With about 5mm left, it works fine but the button cap does poke out at you. I just ordered 100 pan head philips screws (2-56 x 3/4") to replace them. If you want a set, let me know (PM me) and I can mail some to you when I pick them up on Wed.

I ended up building the red one too. I put Samsung 25r 18650 batteries in both DNA75's and they're vaping great :)

I didn't use the screws on mine. I put in magnets :) Little easier to swap batteries :)

The battery sleds worked great. I rounded both ends but you really only need to round one end to fit. I left the neg wire a bit longer than it should so it wedges the sled in place so it doesn't move around but on my red one, I had to add a piece of foam on one end.

I'm fine with charging via USB since that's how I charge all my mods now. I was tempted to drill a small hole for the LED on the DNA75 but I like the clean look and you can kinda see the light when charging.

I haven't started the build yet. Probably tomorrow after I finish rebuilding my friends DNA 40. I did see that the buttons need to be filed down, like you said it isn't that much off. Thanks for the offer on the pan heads. I have some that will work but I am thinking about using magnets instead.

What size magnets did you use Steamer?

Really? I ordered 4/21 and it just sits there restocking.
Starting to feel like Steamer's luck is rubbing off on me.
They just sent the email this morning with the tracking number. I would think you would be ahead of me since you ordered a day before. Or, it's like you say, Steamer's luck is rubbing off on you
