Advice needed.

One of my new black DX200 is currently having a problem. Out of the box the battery was half way charged. I plugged it in overnight, it charged to 100% not a problem.

Today I hooked it up with 1.0.42 Escribe, updated firmware, installed the theme I wanted to use, looked at it and the battery bar shows EMPTY 0%. Hooked it up to device manager saw 2.0v, 0.79v and 0.09v on the cells respectively.

Disconnected the black battery from the black DX200, attached the black battery to the white DX200 (different dna200) and saw 38% battery (I think it was). Checked device manager and saw cells 1,2,3 now showing 3.79v across each of them.

Re-connected the black battery to the black DX200, and dna screen still shows 0% empty, but device manager shows only cell 3 at 0.09v (the other 2 were 3.79v I think)

So does this mean a battery issue or a dna board issue?
Before you go inside take some pics & screenshots to send to Erik over at Ecig.com. Not sure what he will do for you but Willy got a replacement pack because he reported his issue. Doubt they will give you a whole device without requiring the old one shipped back, but worth thinking about a conversation with him.

Sounds like a connection problem on the jst connector of the new black dx you have. Did you try the white battery on the black dx?
No I didn't put the white battery on the black dx200. At this point I think it's a board issue not a battery issue.

The black battery seems to be ok on the white mod. And if the board inside the dx200 is messed up I don't want to risk damaging the cells of a known good setup. I've used 1 of the white ones for a couple of days, I know it works fine. I bought 5 of these but only "used" 1 (the white one) I was just bored and playing around with the black one.

Now I think I need to use and check each of them. :(

I like Willy's answer.
See my post in Taifun thread, going to post it next.
To skip the taifun gt2 air. Yeah just now... I was supposed to jump on them when I found the airs in China.. Waited.. Now fasttech has them, and emailed focal, they are also getting them. By waiting for fasttech or focal the airs will be cheaper. Because they were about $20 ea + shipping ($35?) from China... So I was going to order several to balance out the shipping... Now I can order 1 or 2 at $22 free shipping.

Now, after getting the kf5 and not being as impressed as I thought I'd be, I'm trying to think about my purchases a little before jumping wallet first.

I may order anither squape x? Focal has one with the single coil deck for $34. It's a juice hog of a tank and its a little bit of a female dog to build on (duals anyway), but the vape is excellent and the air flow is Goldie locks. Not too tight, not too loose... Just right.

Yeah I was thinking that. As I said earlier. I have 5 of these in various colors, I had bought them for the vape apocalypse but now I think I need to open and test and use them all. To be safe.

I really can't see how it would hurt the battery unless you left it hooked up, worse I've seen them do when the board has a problem is drain a battery below the cutoff. But anyway, you really should email ecig and let them know what it's doing. I went to my receipt email from the purchase and replied to it with my message.

I think you should use a meter and check the JST plug as well as the pack's main....or did you already?
I read some time ago about the pins in the battery's JST connector not making with the boards JST pins.

Well the plot thickens. After using each battery on each of the mods, the troubled black battery and mod have started charging and registering correctly. I'll use the black one tomorrow and see if it was just a glitch during firmware updating....?

I'll check them all over the next couple of days. I've still got 2 from the first round order that are sealed. So I definitely need to check them all after this little episode.

Sounds like dirty connectors from storage that just needed a little use break-in to improve the connection? Happy it wasn't more serious.

+1 for the Square X Dream :) It does have a little more Air Flow than the V5 :)
I'v been pondering a second one my self, Still just a little worried about coating failure.
Mine has worked flawless for over a month now :) this is an atty that should be in everyones collection :)
I'v been running mine with a single coil with out the adapter & it's N/P.
IMO that adapter will block half the air flow & it will be a tighter draw than a V5.
Just speculation on my part
The SJMY clone on 3F is excellent :) & it's not just me who thinks so, look at the reviews all positive :)
