Sitting down, facing forward.
Temco is a good place for Ti wire, FleaBay or Amazon. I use both their SS and T1. Both are clean as a whistle and very consistent in quality. Relatively inexpensive as well. Incidentally, the carry Ni and kanthal, too, and I haven't looked for more exotics like NiFe but wouldn't be surprised if they carry it.

I resisted going to SS but eventually caved. Where do I get Ti wire?

This is the best! Ti I found, Titanium Round Wire, 10-ft. Coil, 16-Ga., Soft it's soft & very easy to work with. I got a few different one's from FT, there good to, just real springy & harder to wrap.
It's American made, Little more money, but well worth the extra money.
BTW I got the 24 gauge :)

If I knew my mug shot was going to be taken just to participate, I wouldnt, I dont trust our government that much.

Just sayin.....
I didn't mean a mug shot but a check in desk that has two angles under recorded surveillance that is time synced with a double sided scanner that you present photo id at. Person runs id through the scanner so authorities have a baseline image of clothing & appearance tracked to id to help identify perpetrators of things like this:

gettyimages-632229368-1.jpg

It should only be a problem for someone who intends to do wrong or engage in rioting and I don't picture you as that type. I do picture you getting involved in helping someone who was in danger or in need & fighting off attackers though.

Funny how that would be a problem for you. I would much rather have it that way than having the NSA secretly capturing everyone's phone metadata on a real time basis and clandestinely accessing them all remotely to cull the images from the area of concern and identify the perpetrators that way, but I think differently than most.

If I am ever motivated to participate in a protest, I'm doing so because I believe in a cause and want to stand up & be counted, not to engage in rioting so I wouldn't have a problem with it at all.

I usually just lightly torch a Ti coil on the rod to sap the spring out of the coil before installing.

That Ti you use is pretty pricey.

+1 but I have used FT with good results although it needs cleaning w/ alcohol.

One of the highlights was hearing all about Judd's period. Lunatic...

What is wrong with these women? What if a man stood up and said we don't need women telling us what to do or how to think? Good for the rest of the country that they're imploding. They're projecting exactly what they're calling everyone else. Idiots.

I can see a little bit of where your coming from but then what's next, if you drive to the event are you OK with the police stopping you at a road block and searching your car without needing your permission? How about searching your wallet and cell phone? Making your wife and 12 year old daughter strip naked? When your OK with the government having a reasonable but limited right to invade your privacy and say "Only those who have something to hide would object", just be careful what you wishing for.... Can't think of an example where government HASN'T expanded power once it obtains it, the likely truth is they are already tracking us and have all our digital info. It will get very ugly once they feel it can be done freely out in the open, once it gets to that point don't try to voice and objection, it will be too late and you probably won't like the response.

That is where I disagree. Just because I choose to maintain an illusion of privacy and anonymity doesnt mean I intend to destroy property or cause harm. I simply dont believe it is any of the Government's business. My security consciousness was trained (by the government btw) to be "need to know" only in most situations. Unless I am breaking the law they simply dont "need to know".

I lump the government maintaining lists of my personal beliefs and activities in the same boat as the NSA snooping. Its none of their damn business unless I am breaking the law. I simply dont trust them, nor Google, nor Amazon, to use the data they collect on me in a fair, moral, and non-invasive manner. They "might", but then again they might not.

Edit: And that whole NSA fiasco just proves (to me anyway) that the government is not to be trusted.

I don't heat mine at all. I got overly paranoid about the white residue :(
The RG Ti is a lot more, But I use it sparingly & I can cause it's easy to wrap.
I can cut about a 4" piece & make a perfect coil out of that :)
I find with the FT Ti I need a long piece to leverage the wrap so it's tight.
That ends up with more wastage.
When it's all said & installed they both work the same :)

Found Temco on Amazon (had to use google). What gauge? I like 28g for ni200 and SS. Stick with 28g

I like the 24 gauge it makes a sturdy coil easy to clean gunk off.
Even the FT Ti, I got 24 gauge :)

I got 26g 316ss and it tends to hold heat too long for my vaping style and wasn't impressed with it.

I don't know about any of that. I just refuse to dry burn or heat the Ti cause of the white residue thing.
So 24 gauge makes it easier to clean the coil with out damaging it.
In theory my Ti coil never gets hotter than 450 degrees, no chance of the residue build up from over heating it :)

I have a roll of the same ss and got the same results, seemed too hot. I also tried ti and didn't care for that either, ni200 just works for me and I've been happy with it.

Seems to me that the most expedient and effective method to achieve an agenda in this country is to portray yourself or your constituency as having been victimized in some way. In the last 8 years or so many have used this tactic to great success, repeatedly, and with no regard for those whose rights have been violated in the process or whether their agenda is in compliance with federal law and our constitution.
Furthermore I do not believe that state legislation should be able to write into law that which is in direct conflict with federal law and that doing so should be considered a Federal offence.

The torching I do is very quick and just pulls the springiness out of the coil. Never heats to red and no white residue is produced. It will blue slightly.
