I make my own cold brew. It is lower in acid, but does taste strong. I use a pitcher calf a toddy maker. The instructions digest that you use it diluted be half.
I have learned that using a light or medium roast is best if DD uses their French roast (which I think is burnt beans to begin with) it would be way too strong tasting.
I roast my own beans too, & have come to dislike anything roasted past medium.
Anyway, 1 part cold brew to 2 parts milk, or almond milk with a dash of vanilla extract and a bit of sugar or honey makes a great cold coffee drink. I'm sure DD just doesn't get it. Just as Starbucks's doesn't get how to make a good coffee. It ain't about taste or quality it's about marketing.
Just my 2 cents.

I roast my own also, and I migrated from a "dark" to a "full city" roast to a medium roast. If you start with good beans then a darker roast destroys the finer nuances. StarSucks over roasts their beans because they have little natural flavor, so what you taste is the roast, not the bean's origins.

Where do you get your green beans?
I have been using Green Coffee Buying Club - Index essentially a co-op.

You guys are crazy, my goal is to taste the coffee as least as possible. Just mix in a little milk-like substance and chug it down.

You and my GF would get along well, she drowns hers in French Vanilla creamer. It is more like a desert drink than coffee.

I have not seen that supplier. I haven't actually roasted any myself this summer, too busy, but Lakota coffee is my normal place. I only buy Arabica beans. My favorite is their Sumatra, but it is hard to get it right, it seems to go straight to second crack, so it has to be cooled quickly after first.
I am archaic in my roasting, & use a nut roasting pan. Has the built in stirring handle. I have to use a camping burner in the garage, because my family can't stand the smell. It works out well, because I dump it in a strainer, run it over to a fan outside that I have facing up & shake. Cools it nicely.

I don't like that stuff much either, it's sweet but not good sweet, plus with the coffee it's like mixing sweet with bitter which makes both worse, but I do use it to kind of dilute the coffee taste a bit. Milk stuff in coffee kind of makes me gag, it just tastes curdled to me. Hot milk in general is gross really.

We have some really fancy coffee crap in my house, most recently my gf and cousin each went halfsies on a 900 dollar espresso machine and guess what, I think they've used it once. but all I do is put ground up espresso beans in a keurig, make a 2oz shot, mix in a bit of the milk-like substance and drink it through a straw as fast as possible.

Happy belated Mike!!!

Update on my Silo 75c's.

Rustoleum isn't a good finish for something that gets handled daily. Less when you put it in your pocket. I'm too lazy to finish it now but will probably have to soon. The magnets aren't strong enough to hold the case together w/o some movement. 1 is worse than the other so I cut some old plastic gift cards and stacked them to wedge between the case so it doesn't move around. I can still take the case apart but now they're solid like my other Silos that are held together with screws.

I really, really like the Therion 75c. I've paid twice as much for pre-built mods that were not nearly as nice. Highly recommend if you need long battery life in a very polished mod.

KTM, I worked with automotive clear coats and while they apply and finish nicely, they don't hold up to scratches or even mild abrasion very well. I think the best finish on an aluminum case is no finish other than an occasional brushing if the nicks bother you.

I ripped a bunch of boards on my table saw today making pieces and trim for my front porch, I had my mod deep in my pocket. When I pulled the mod out it was covered in fine sawdust, the inside of the drip tip was coated, I pulled it and looked inside the mizer, it too had sawdust in it and it didn't taste good! Guess I won't do that again....

Anodizing would be the best but it's cost prohibitive for just a few pieces and I don't know where I could get it done and I already installed magnets so not really an option for me. Powder coating is another option. Right now, they work and I'm not that picky. It adds patina to the mods :).

Story of my life Willy. Sawdust, dirt, tile dust you name it gets in my attys. The worst was when I was staining a porch ceiling, I had my mod standing up at least 10ft away from work area and somehow a drop of poly-stain slung off the roller and went right down the drip tip. That was a REALLY bad vape.:p

If I can't taste the "nuttiness" of coffee, it ain't coffee.

One of those days. The weather prognosticators said it wasn't going to rain until late tonight or early tomorrow morning so I put out eight gallons of vegetation killer on the driveway, around the sheds and along the fence lines. Then I started shredding up an old mulch pile to make fill. I was walking back from a trip to pick up small branches/twigs, use them when the screen on the shredder gets clogged (cleans it right out) and got stung by a bee on my right ankle. I'm mildly allergic to bee stings. Then it started spritzing rain. I had also set up chicken thighs, marinated in ranch dressing, for dinner.

The spritzes stopped long enough for me to grill the chicken, but now my left leg aches from my toes to my knee and my ankle is a little swollen. Oh well, another day tomorrow. The bee did not survive the encounter though and I did make a cubic yard of really nice mulch for fill.

To add insult to injury the original muffler on my chipper/shredder fell off due to a bad weld, thanks B&S. It took a month to get a replacement but it was totally different and seemed much better constructed and mounted to the block rather than just relying on the manifold flange for support. When I got done using it today I noticed the new one has cracked, too, on the bracket that holds the heat shield onto the muffler. Another service ticket with DRPower.

There used to be a guy on here named Ken, he does things like knives mods etc... I had him do a couple of non-vape things & stripped my gf's beat up zen hybrid and had him re-anodize it way back when, and at some point he was doing all the ihy's for faceless. Idk if he's still doing it or how much it'd be but you could look into that. It was very cheap, considering.

He can also do titanium, which turns out really pretty.

Swollen is ok, red streaks are not! I got stung on my thigh by a red wasp while cycling and along with extreme swelling a red streak appeared, it was growing in length hour by hour. We googled "Bee sting red streak" and found out it could be blood poisoning. I went to the ER and good thing I did, they said it looked like blood poisoning and I could have lost my leg or worse if I had ignored it. Since then I keep an Epipen close by and watch for red streaks.

No red streaks on your leg I hope?
