glad to be of help!Been up since 2 AM, but with these coffee pics, now I'm awake!
Anyone ever venture into making their own stain glass windows? This old house has a sun window above the front door, the width of the door and about 18 inches high. I'd like to have it stain glass with the house number in a oval in the center, the rest a simple design, then I'll back light it for night.
Now that we had the house painted, I want to add a pair of vintage style lights, one each side of the door, I think with the lit stain glassed number at the top it will look really nice.
Also, one of these lit flag poles is going up tomorrow, 20 footer with a 5 foot flag, my yard is already four feet higher then street level. I picked two 360 lumen LED spotlights going right next to the pole at the base shooting straight up, one on each side, it should give a nice effect.
All my neighbors have house flags that they leave out 24/7 but none of the light them, I always put mine up in the morning and take it down at dusk. The Wilson's are upgrading, going to show them how to properly display a flag at night. From time to time during bad weather I won't leave it out at night and instead have reveille raising's at daybreak and play taps at dusk while lowering, loudly.

The backlit stained glass transom and side lights sound really beautiful, the lighted flag too! As your neighbor I could probably live without the loud reveille and taps though...![]()

Wow those are amazing! You have to touch! Like the touching hands! That's all way fancier then what I'm looking to do, in the small window I have the detail wouldn't be seen from the road anyways. I was thinking the 10 in an oval in the center big enough to easily be seen day or night, then maybe a simple sunburst style of colors radiating out, like pie shapes, I would think that would draw the eye to the center. Wondering if it would be cheaper to have it made rather then dive into it for one window. Also wonder if there isn't simulated stain that could be applied to the inside of the glass that's there now?
Since we were served four cups of coffee in here this morning, the following article seems mighty timely:
Four cups of coffee a day could slash chance of early death
