willy feeling mighty chipper today! ;)

Yup, I'm feeling giddy! I went for a test fit for my new prosthesis today, I really need a new one badly. Getting close to having it finished, couple weeks now, it's like Christmas!

So the middle of last night when I couldn't sleep I decided to work on putting a USB port in the ZNA, so I went from this patch cable between the board and charger,

To this USB connector by drilling a hole up through the bottom of the mod.

And this is how I replaced the crappy screw adjustable 510 with a VT 510, I drilled out the center so the VT will slip in then drilled and tapped for a setscrew from the side to hold it in place.

I made the hole so it would be a press fit for the usb port, a little too tight, as you can see it's bending the body out of shape. I'll file it a tad then fill the voids with hot glue. It's not exactly the way I wanted it, I would have liked to been able to file a slot but the body is just way too thick, if only I had a mill..... But these are going to be my mods for working around the house, something more pocket friendly, they'll get banged and scratched anyways so pretty doesn't need to count. It's working great and that was the goal.

Nice modding, that is one tight enclosure.

So happy to have one completed, it's been in my head for a long time. Soldering wires to those itty-bitty, tiny, tiny terminals on that usb port was trying to say the least. The smallest silicone/highly flexible wire I had was 24 and that was like trying to solder car battery cable to a match stick. Good thing I only needed to solder to three terminals, I bent the outer two out and the center up so the soldered joints wouldn't touch, once done I encapsulated them with hot glue. Not the correct way to do things but that's part of tinkering, finding ways to make what you have to work with work, that problem solving, seeing it in your minds eye, then actually making it work is what I enjoy.

I can remember watching in fascination at a very, very young age, my Grandfather fixing things with what he had to work with which pales in comparison to what I have around here today and by golly he'd find a way to make something work without running out to buy stuff. I asked him where he learned how to do that and I'll never forget him telling me, "during WWII and the depression, you made do or you did without." Every time I wash off a shovel or a spade I think of how he taught me, "That's how you make them last a lifetime, put them away dirty and they'll rust in short order." I still have one of his rakes, shoves and pick ax, guess he was right. My Dad was the same way, when the two of them got together I was always right there with full interest at what they were doing and how. Guess it rubbed off, unfortunately I've never been able to pass that along to anyone, my daughter never had interest in fixing things and my son in law, his attitude is, Why bother learning, Dad will fix it for me, he knows how. I'll just leave it with him, go watch sports & drink a cold beer....

But I digress back to the ZNA 60, you know it was a good idea on Evolv's part to release the 200 then the 75 before the 60, if I had the 60 at the start, highly doubt I'd have all these 200's and the 75's.

Thats some really nice work Slick :)
I wouldn't go as far as saying I would have not bought any 200's/250's. But I will give a giant +1 for the DNA60 :)
I will say I like it better than the 75, knowing what I know now, I would of substituted all my 75's with 60's :)

Look at this! Authentic GeekVape Zeus RTA Silver 25mm 4ml Tank Atomizer
To Me this looks interesting :) All thou I'm not a fan of top air flow, this looks like the air is lead down to the sides & bottom of the coil.
This looks like they eliminated the biggest flaw the OBS engine had, Air not directly hitting the coil before it was sucked up the chimney.
This short YT video don't really show the whole picture :( I'l wait for a proper review to have a good look at the way the Air flow is hitting the coil. It's a single coil, so I mite consider this after I get a good look at it :)

Yeah I like my 200's, I use the hotcig dx's daily because they just are a workhorse and take a beating plus I have battery's charging, charged and on rotations so it's easier to swap then an 18650. But my children, my favorites are those I hammond mods I made, filing, fitting and finishing by hand, I guess I wouldn't give them up.

Also Steamer, watch for an incoming message elsewhere. :)

This leads one to think that is how it works.

Ya :) It looks like the side channels direct the Air flow right down to the side & bottom of the coil.
This could be a leak free design? I'l be watching this one :)
BTW promo pricing is 24$ :)

I couldn't get it out of my head how I wanted to get that USB port in the ZNA, it was driving me nuts, "Is it going to work?" So last night I decided why not get a start, I'll mark out the hole and drill it out, it won't take that long and that will be a good start. Well once started I had to finish it LoL. Yeah it won't win any beauty awards but it's damn functional and I'm lovin it. When the 200 came out and everyone was saying they wanted a 40 size board with TC and escribe to run off an 18650 I wanted one in a ZNA, the dream has finally come true!

I'm in the middle of this movie on netflix now, holy #$&%!! Mike I know you'd enjoy watching this because of they describe how they designed all the works, unfortunately like so many things people with bad intentions are now using it the wrong way. And if that's what they had then, it's scary to think what they are doing now..... Read up on it and watch it before it's removed.....
