FYI, If you could use some nice LED shop lights these are on sale--> LED SHOPLIGHT 43" 3200L - Indoor Wall - Ace Hardware
Note, regular in store price is $35 (and that's not a bad price), the sale price is $25, if you have or sign up for an ace rewards card you'll get another $5 off. It's suppose to be limited to one with the extra $5 off but the ace store I went to over-road the system and gave me four at $20 each. I bought six of these last fall for my shop, got sick of the florescent lights, the ballast go out, the bulbs don't last and they don't like to come on in the cold. These come on full bright no matter what the temp is, are cheaper to run, much brighter and the light cast is not a funky color. The four I picked up will finish the job, I'll have the shop fully covered and no dark area's, I may need sunglasses, these things are bright! Can't beat it!

Interesting, but after watching that "protein" fold when it got wet, I've managed to do that for years. Just wash your jeans in hot water, they "magically" change to a smaller shape!:w00t:
guess that only works when you don't want it to! and not when your favorite vintage 505s are only available in the next larger size - might have to try boiling! :D

I wish LED lights were around when I was installing new lights in my garage/shop. I had 3 8' T8 fixtures and they all went out within a few weeks. I have an electrician friend that had some job site lights (400w?) left over and installed 2 for me. They look like this:
YTC.jpg

When they were new, it was like daylight in my shop but the bulbs don't last very long and lose lumens pretty fast. I've had them for about 12 yrs now and have installed 8 4' T12 dual fluorescent fixtures in addition to the jobsite lights about 5 yrs ago because the bulbs were over $100 ea back then (I disconnected 1 a few months ago). I bought 4300k T12 bulbs and they all gave out a ton of light. Each fixture is good for about 5000 lumens. The fixtures are 0°F cold start rated and have had no issues when it was 40°F in my shop, about as cold as it gets in there. They were on sale for $10 ea and a box of 20 bulbs was $25. They're $13 ea and 10pk of bulbs are $18 at Lowes now.

I've "discovered" high output LED flood lights. I've replaced all the outside floods with them. The incandescent stuff consumed 1900 watts and didn't really light up the whole backyard. The LED stuff consumes 320 watts and lights the whole yard, and I added an extra two to get the far end of the back yard lit. I've added one inside one of the shed, replaced a 60 watt bulb with a 20 watt LED and now, instead of half lit dingy, it brightly lit. The real beauty of it is they are cheap, so if they fail it's no great loss or exense to replace them.

Willie, here's one. They aren't "architecturally beautiful" but they do provide some serious amounts of light. I replaced double, 100 watt (200 watts total), halogen fixtures with one of these and it seems even brighter. One of the downsides is that the color temperature is generally bluer than incandescent or halogen but, to me, that's a small price to pay for the low power consumption.

I rarely break the 60W power setting on any of my DNA boards, yet I have a 250, two 200s, a 75 (Kanger mod), a 60, some 40s, a 25....

Wow! Nice! I'm impressed! And thanks, Mad. :)

tweety, so much Evolv-ing participation from you...way more than me, lately!

By the way, I'm not normally a Kanger fan, but the K1 is a pretty decent little DNA75.

Thanks, Awsum! On my list, but, for some reason, almost all DNA 75s are kinda big--bigger than I like. Except for the Jac, but the Jac's 510 connection is only 22 mm in diameter--I would much prefer 25 mm. I'm also looking at this baby--KTM says he likes the manufacturer. Decisions, decisions.

$63.50 Authentic SBody Artisan DNA75C 75W TC VW APV Box Mod - 1-75W / 3.0V-4.2V / 1*18650 / 0.9" TFT color screen at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

BTW, I always give my dogs (and everybody else in my family) probiotics-rich food, especially when they take antibiotics. Sauerkraut (the real thing, naturally fermented, not that stuff with vinegar), kefir, and yoghurt are all good and help replenish the good bugs decimated by antibiotics. Hope your pooch is feeling better. :)

I'm too cheap to spend that much on a mod, but then I usually build my own and they end up costing just as much, but I can fix them if/when they break. I haven't gotten into the 75C, yet, and will probably hold out until the 250C comes out. I've got a full range of DNAs, too, and rarely go over 30 watts. You may want to consider a DNA60, but that's not a color screen.

Leo was getting Fortaflora, a probiotic powder, daily and he still had problems. He seems to be coming back, albeit slowly, to normal. His energy level is back up and we plan on introducing regular food, very slowly, again starting this weekend. I'll have to make another run to Costco for more chicken breast though.

KTM, awsum, do you guys have any links? I'd be interested in both of those. Thanks!

These are similar to the fixtures I have. 0°F ballasts and they've been great for the last 5 yrs or so. $13 ea
Shop Utilitech Linear Shop Light (Common: 4-ft; Actual: 4.55-in x 47.92-in) at Lowes.com

10pk of T12 40w 4100k bulbs $18
Shop SYLVANIA 10-Pack 47.78-in Medium Bi-pin (T12) 40-Watt 4100 K Cool White Fluorescent Light Bulb at Lowes.com

10pk of T12 40w 6500k bulbs $20
Shop SYLVANIA 10-Pack 47.78-in Medium Bi-pin (T12) 40-Watt 6500 K Daylight Fluorescent Light Bulb at Lowes.com

The 6500k borderline bluish white and mimics daylight the best. An incandenscent bulb is close to 3500k. I went with 4300k (they don't seem to have any more in this temp).

The fixtures are cheap and easy to hang and you just plug them into an outlet.

I've switched a couple of years ago to LED light bulbs. They're 60w (uses 9w) and they seem to be closer to 100w bulbs as far as light output. They're 5000k and I like them a lot. They replaced older LED bulbs that had a slight delay when they're turned on and they were $10 ea on sale about 6 yrs ago. They started getting dimmer and taking longer to turn on (almost 1 sec delay) so I was looking for new bulbs and the EcoSmarts from HD were cheap and worth trying out. I bought 2 8pks since they were so cheap. I like them a lot and they work great. Highly recommend these for all around use. I have them in some shop lamps that use A19 sockets too.

I was going to recommend that or the Sbody macro 75

I think the 75c is a much better all around chip as you really don't need to rely on Escribe as much.

TY, Steamer. Like the nano! :)

The nano is Small, but the 510 is sub par :( It's made of plastic! Every once & a while the resistance reads wrong, I have to unscrew the 510 plate & clean the threads screw it back down & it's ok again.

Just an FYI :)

I know, but I really don't care for that "heavy duty" look--and that huge logo... I'd rather pay more for the other SBody. :D

Never relied on Escribe before. ;)

BTW, I take it that DNA mods work well in power mode also, correct?

Oops... Thanks for the heads up. Off my list. Don't need that. :D
