Hi Elizabeth, welcome to this collection of miscreants :)

Steamer, it is holding in TC with no problem. Maybe I'll fire up Escribe a little later and have a look-see there, but subjectively it's doing fine. Don't get me wrong, it seems fine, I just don't "feel the love".

That's great, I really like SS430. It does take a while to settle in the res and tcr. Take care when dryburning. You don't want to get it above a dull red or you'll be chasing those temp settings again. You might have to anyway ( +/- 10°f) after the first few dryburns. Once it stays black in color after a dryburn it's stable for life.

Sometimes the little things, and Escribe, can make a significant difference. I brought it up with device monitor and noticed that the coils were just not getting up to full temperature in a "normal" puff. I increased the preheat "punch" up one notch from the default of center. Magic! Ramp up is almost instant and it hold temperature "spot on". Major difference in output, too.

Elizabeth, besides being a bunch of miscreants, you'll find we're a bunch of OCD purists about vaping.

Great News :)

Preheat Punch is your friend with "Big" Coils :)
I have tried hard to like SS wire, but up till now, TBH I'm not a big fan :(
Hopefully the 430 is going to get me on board with the SS?

I had a lot of problems with 316L, worked fine until the mod was left sitting for a while, then really anemic. Unscrew the atty, fire with no atty, screw in the atty, answer "yes"to new coil, nice vaping again...until the next time. That hasn't happened at all with SS430. Holds TC and performance like Ti. I don't dry burn so that's not a factor for me, just another wire type that works.

I will say 28 gauge SS430, twisted, is pretty good!

Welcome Elizabeth.

You can count on few things here, HARDCORE coffee and vape folks, who are generally friendly, sometimes burly, often OCD, but over the top helpful if you have an issue.

In a spectacular fashion I once deformed that 28g twisted with too high of a dry burn. But I'm a fast learner.
Between beating my twisted wire with a hammer, and a table full of DIY concentrates and a scale, wifey just shakes her head ........ and then that barely under her breath comment about the place looking like a m e t h lab.

I finally have a 75C inbound for that other 3D printed squonk box. It will be great to play with the 100W preheat option now and Replay when it comes out.
You really need to check in at some of your other haunts.
