I was just poking fun at SheerLuck Holms. I've only got experience with the Sanyo "B", 4250mah, and only a few charge cycles on them but they do perform quite well. $9.00 from IMR batteries.

Oh I know you were just poking, I know you well enough by now, all good my friend. :) My damn if you do to post or not wasn't directed at you. ;)

I figured that, but that's my normal condition anyway

I'm still kind of ambivalent about 2X700 batteries. Just another battery size and it doesn't fit everything. Same is true of 26650. Yeah, I know they both have more capacity, but the trade off in size, weight and being limited to specific mods just doesn't cut it for me.

Can you give me a link or the model info of that modem? Any idea if it would work with Spectrum (Time Warner)? I've never researched these because I've always used the rented modem they provide and then bought my own router. Look's like going the streaming route is out, I showed the wife what it would be like getting channels through Ruko and she doesn't want any part of it, she doesn't like jumping through the few hoops to navigate through it, she want's a channel menu like you would see with a cable DVR box. I wasn't surprised, I figured that it would be a no go, she easily get's lost and she hates to take the time to learn something new. She wants to keep internet through Spectrum and go with either Dish or Direct TV because that's what my daughter has used and anything my daughter say's is good over rides anything I recommend. We'll still save about half and she'll have her DVR, if I buy my own modem I can cut the monthly rental and maybe boost my download speed some but I don't have a clue where to start. The internet we have is 25mb max, well using their modem, hoping my own modem would boost it a little but even if it doesn't at least I'll save the rental and the modem will pay for itself. Maybe I don't need one that's 3.1, maybe 3.0 is all I need? I did find these, one has a router built in, don't know if it's a good router of if even buying a combo unit is a good idea?

Amazon.com: Motorola 16x4 Cable Modem, Model MB7420, 686 Mbps DOCSIS 3.0, Certified by Comcast XFINITY, Charter Spectrum, Time Warner Cable, Cox, BrightHouse, and More: Computers & Accessories

This is the router I have now, dated but works well https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SWKM4M2
The one I have is netgear CM1000, idk about the others but it works really well... Better than it's supposed to actually. If possible I normally use either asus/netgear for modems & routers...

I'd go with docsis 3.1 as that's the new standard & as far as combo's I'm not a fan, from a technical standpoint anyways. I also get nervous when I can't visibly see the antennae, whether they're built on or whatnot. Also, ever since 802.11n I've done this thing where I sprinkle table salt on black electrical tape and stick those to the antennae, idk if black magic or whatever, but it works & pretty much doubles the speed (something about the salt putting the signals in the correct phase... physics, lol).

This one you can apply a coupon for 20% off, I'm pretty sure thats what I did.

I also use the nighthawk router that comes w/ dumaOS in place of netgear's firmware, which I'm a huge fan of since the dumaR1 (first router that didn't drive me bonkers).

well, no luck with the ipad in here - maybe i have a better chance with this project since i know we got gun and hunting fans! ;)

i'm looking for decent camouflage netting to hide that monstrosity of a propane tank. it's situated out of the way but still bothers me. i looked on amazon but every item has this: does not compare to military issue :( so where do i find a decent quality? :?:

Can't help you tibs but I'd suggest a decorative fence or tall ornamental grass, you could grow some of it in containers in case you need to move them when they come to refill.

My personal opinion, I wouldn't put anything gun, hunting or military related on my property, that's a calling card I probably own guns and a flag to thefts. Same with my truck, no gun or hunting sticker's of any kind, that's asking to have your vehicle to be broken into. I don't wear hats or T's with related logo's either, I wear a plain baseball caps with just the American flag. I bet most of my neighbors don't know I own guns, I'm discrete when loading them from the house to my truck, it's none of their business anyways.

I give up! I only get photos embedded in messages. In tapatalk. Any photo posted that is not embedded in a message won't open. I have deleted Tapatalk and reinstalled. Deleted ECF group. Reinstalled everything more then once. Still can't get pictures to show up. No matter what I have tried. All my other threads I follow on other groups that are picture intense are not having this issue. Some of them have way more photos and posts. Just can't seem to get this thread to work in Tapatalk on my android or my apple tablet. I give up trying to fix it. I guess I'll just have to get my morning coffee on a real computer.

since the tank is probably 500 ft off the road i'm not overly concerned that anybody would spot it ;) it's sitting in woodland but it's bugging me to no end. btw that's why i opted for geothermal heat pumps years ago - hated those outside units with a passion! :D

as to rossum's bamboo - with my luck those things would like the spot and multiply for ever more ;)

I was gonna say watch the bamboo. That stuff multiplies like rabbits. I have a neighbor, across the street, that has some and it's a constant battle with a chainsaw and mower to keep that stuff under control. On the other hand, it grows reall fast and can provide a good screen IF you're willing to keep it under control.

Know of a good contractor in SW VA? I'd love to do a geothermal heatpump for my place. You should see my electric bill for December/January when it was do dang cold.

Yeah, you just need a few small ones and a bit of patience.

i'll do some hedging rather than bamboo ;) but that still won't solve my problem completely. from the covered porch you're looking on top of it.
the thing is sitting 40 feet down from the retaining wall into the woods

even geothermals pretty much relied on auxiliary heat during that cold spell :(

Decent deal, even for the router by itself but the modem it comes with is only docsis 3.0 and it looks like there's been 3 upgrades since that model # (cm600, cm700, cm1000), really it depends if spectrum has plans to upgrade their services... They told me that mine will be in the next year or so, which is why I got a 3.1 vs 3.0... willie do you know?

Also it's worth mentioning that after upgrading to the cm1000 I am getting 300+ extra mbps than what I pay for. No idea why but it's been like that since I bought it.
