Yeah, I use Nexflix and I'm loving the stuff on Prime, I'm getting so I watch more of that stuff then what's on the cable.
I got lucky, caught the wife in a good mood yesterday and had a sit down with her, I was able to finally have a calm conversation and explain everything between streaming, cable, dish and direct tv without interruption or her going off the deep end. With her short temper it's rare to be able to have a long in dept conversation without it going south, but anyways she finally understands the whole picture, other then her Netflix she does not want any part of other streaming which I knew, doubt that will ever change. In the end we agreed to just keep the damn Spectrum and pay the increase to keep her happy.
Me, I'm getting another Ruko for my office where I watch what I want and I'll be expanding my streaming world, in the end we'll both be happy, we just won't be saving any money but peace is more important to me than money, I can always get more money. I can't buy peace, well unless I spend it on a divorce lawyer.
Yeah man, plus it'd be rough if she forces you to be her remote controller for a while. my gf usually gets something after like the 5th time explaining, the first 2 she straight up does not listen, the 3rd & 4th it's half listening, then the 5th is when I go "pay attention bc this is the last time I'm explaining this" & she gets it. She had non-stop trouble with the last paid TV (directv) we had, & I always was having to do something or schedule something or figure out where her channels were (in directv they're not neatly set up & a lot are separated by 500 or more channels of ppv nonsense, for example hd channels start on 500 or so but not all channels were offered in HD, so they're scattered around a but... Yeah I know[emoji58]) why this or that hadn't recorded, & half the time she'd end up watching stuff on the non-hd channels etc...
But... she has had no trouble at all w/ the android TV stuff, when I asked her why that vs the directv, she said it feels just like her phone (note8, which she is *very* familiar with), w/ directv stuff was all "clunky and hard to find". Also she's said that it makes it easier for her to just single button cast whatever she's looking at on the phone or whatever else to the TV.
I was conserving power, even on the cell phone. My friends at the City warned it would be an extended outage.
My main concern was trying to keep the fish tank alive. I dont have a generator anymore, starting to think about one of those natural gas ones.
Where do you live dude? I for some reason thought it was in VA like me... We had some craziness up here & a few cars got impaled by various things, also I saw a guy up on a ladder cutting literally all the branches off of like a 60 year old tree on his lawn in 70 mph winds, his house survived though. My uncle had his siding peeled off & my dad had a new a/c condenser smashed by a log but my power only went out a few times for like an hour at the longest, & then 30 sec at a time towards the end of it.
But I fully support the idea of getting a genny. I actually wanted ours to go out so I could test the limits of our new automatic genny that's hooked up to the gas line... which the upstairs neighbors hated the idea (when they found out), were already annoyed at our renovations & asked a bunch of questions to me about it, (it automatically turns over 1x/week and they made me set that to when they are out playing bingo or w/e). It's very quiet btw for a genny. I was actually forced by the condo association to get a smaller one than what I had but it's surprisingly enough to run the fridge/tv/router/hvac/furnace/a/c... maybe not the dryer. Our upstairs neighbor thought they'd stop me I guess, but they actually allow it within certain guidelines (we're lucky enough to be on the bottom floor, facing away from the front) & it has to be mounted on a tray like an a/c condenser (actually its right next to it & we just installed a new condenser so we were able to move that over enough to fit both). Anyways after this was over her husband was asking me a very different type of questions lol, (they're pretty much screwed though since they're on the middle floor) my next-to me neighbors though were like, yep, definitely getting one. idk if they'll be able to though bc of where that condo is facing. if so, I'm sure the upstairs lady will love it.
