ECF is growing and changing.
Oliver is continuing to bring new and exciting things to the members, he's been working hard towards that with the contests.
I know none of likes "change", we are all comfy in our routines. ( get off my grass ! )
Some of us are very settled in our vaping habits...but there are still so many that need the nudge to get off cigarettes.
I support ECF and with a crap ton of time volunteered because I believe in it. It's one of the very last places online that anyone can come to - from young to old, any walk of life and be comfortable. No foul language, no poor behavior...
I want to make sure that it stays for the future, I would like to see everyone not smoke cigarettes.
I use an ad blocker along with not getting all the ads being a Supporting Member, and don't begrudge the contests that pop up.
I don't know where I am going with this, I guess I let all the complaints get to my heart.
Maybe I should just give up.
Classy, it's not the changes that bother me, at least not all that much, it's more of a change in target, for lack of a better word. I only hang out in a few threads here and they all involve "hard core" vaping techniques or specific niches so I may not be aware of the whole forum. Having stuff pop up just isn't "user friendly" to me is all I'm trying to get across.
Willie, on the back of my cable boxes there's a 75 ohm port. That port supplies an analog version of whatever the box is tuned to. It's not all channels at once, like cable used to be, just the channel the box is tuned to. Sort of a "slave" port I guess. It does limit you to whatever channel you're tuned to on the box, but does offer a way to get an analog signal to another device, typically on "channel 3", without adding another box. You just have to be satisfied with watching the same channel on both devices.
I'll see what these new boxes look like when I get them, hopefully they'll have that port along with the hdmi. Thanks buddy! haha! that'll leave willy out in the cold since his wife is controlling spectrum cable!![]()

Classie you have been nothing but helpful and level headed so please know these things aren't aimed at you. In fact I believe it was you that guided me in the proper channels and proper way to address any grievance that I have had in the past.No doubt some of them will. But I'd also expect some to start poking around the internet looking for a way to not to go back to smoking, and some of them will end up here.Concerning however is the numerous new vapors that I see and strike up a conversation with that are totally dependant on vape shops. Most of them would go back to smoking if the vape shops evaporated,
Damn dude, that's a lot of news lol, I just can't anymore it's rediculous, I'd be horribly unhappy if I did... the way I see it anyway is all the TV news companies are so biased either one way or the other, that at any given time they literally only report *half* of the news & I just end up feeling depressed for the news people... I can't stop imagining them as young reporters getting into the business, & how much of that exuberance, morality, joie de vivre etc was just sucked out of them along the way.I do already have a Roku, I bought that one for the wife as one of her Christmas presents, she watches Netflix with it on the living room TV. We don't watch TV together because she likes to watch news from 4-5 PM till 9-10 PM then watch her Netflix or recorded shows. I watch and record all my TV in my office on my big computer, I can't take more then a half hour of news a day. I have a new 32 inch curved monitor and I set up quadraphonic speakers, I'm very happy to lean back in my easy chair with my feet up on the desk fill the room with vapor and watch what I want here in my man cave. I want the 2nd Roku for myself to use on my monitor and I'm putting that antenna you have for the local over the air channels, I can hook that antenna up to my TV tuner card. After the 13th when Spectrum goes all digital you need a converter box on a TV, that won't work with my TV tuner card in my computer so I'm going to let her have her Spectrum cable and Netflix on the living room TV and I'm going deeper into streaming and over the air.![]()
Yeah that's going to be difficult, w/ monitors especially. Actually many TV's now do not even have a coax on the back anymore.Willie, just to make sure I explained it right...I'm using the 75 ohm tap on the cable box, it is digital coming to the box but the box is supplying an analog signal as well. There's still a LOT of 75 ohm only stuff out there and/or people that don't give a crap about HDMI inputs that they're still on the boxes I have.
As the little, old, grey haired, pince nez and shawl wearing, little old lady working for the government always says "We MUST have our rules". I do appreciate ECF as a vaping site which is why I support it, but sometimes I wonder what in the heck they are thinking.
I use tapatalk & I have not seen ads in ages. just sayin'. Damn dude, that's a lot of news lol, I just can't anymore it's rediculous, I'd be horribly unhappy if I did... Condolences, man!She went into college as a Republican and she came out a hard core Democrat.

Depends what signaling/modulation scheme is being used.I think coax as a delivery medium can only support like <30 frames per second, which on a crt is less apparent but on oled is very choppy.
Condolences, man!![]()
Yeah it is too much news for me too! My wife came here from Germany, after we married and she became a citizen she wanted to go to college and I supported the idea. I worked twisting wrenches (making decent money) and she went to school. After her first year she decided she wanted to become a professor and teach poly sci, after four years she started teaching here in NY at Wells College, she taught there for a couple years. She was very very close to getting her doctorate, all she needed to do was present her dissertation but out of the blue Cuomo, after promising to increase college funding, creating more teaching jobs he turned around and slashed funding. The enrollments plummeted and professors started loosing jobs, my wife being one of the first to go. She just gave up, it took the wind out of her sails, no matter how hard I urged to at least take the last steps and get the doctorate being that close she wouldn't.
She went into college as a Republican and she came out a hard core Democrat. She follows politics like most guys follow sports, I can't partake....
In terms of bandwidth, cable (coax) has significant capacity, probably well into the ghz range but getting lossy that high. 1080p or 4k should be no problem at all well past 240 fps on coax or fiber, although fiber has much lower loss.
Depends what signaling/modulation scheme is being used.![]()
