Not on that router. Some routers allow you to load different firmware other than the manufacturers, like
DD-WRT, OpenWRT, and Tomato.

My 250 board somehow got doused with juice and now drains the battery in less than 12 hours without being activated. A good 10 drops, at least, somehow got into the ERM+ enclosure and caused the board to not be able to read the 3rd cell of the battery. Hooray for 200 backup board.
Too lazy to send the 250 board back in...don't necessarily want to buy a new board (with or without the C next to the number).
IME, Dead Rabbit > Drop so far and by the slightest margin. I prefer the smooth flow of the DRabbit, but the juice well of the Drop.
Must remember XT30s in my order from wherever!
Side note: work's been so "challenging" the last few months, I recently rewarded myself with a Desert Eagle Mark XIX L5 in .44mag (50AE barrel to come at a later date).

Thank you, I ran the "check for new firmware" and did an update, made sure remote management was still turned off, changed my long jumbled password for giggles, pull the power cord, waited a few minuets and rebooted the router. Also had to reboot the cable modem for get an IP address to show but now it's all back up and running. Hopefully the hackers (be it ours or another government) will see me as a small fish and leave me alone.
While I'm bugging you guys for advice, would it be possible to use another router in my shop to send a signal and connect to my router in the house? I have a spare second security camera DVR and some extra hard wire cameras, instead of buying new expensive wireless security cameras my thought is to put a couple of the hard wired camera's in the shop, connect the cameras to the second DVR, hook the DVR to a router out there and use that router to send out a signal and connect to the one in the house, is that possible?
Don't buy wireless security cameras. The terms "wireless" and "security" are mutually exclusive.
There are WiFi extenders, Ubitquiti makes a ton of stuff for point to point extensions like that but it can be a little pricey. Alternately, especially if your house and garage are on the same electrical service, the are "plug-in" WiFi extenders that should do the trick. They, basically, use you AC wiring for network transmission.
Depending on your actual layout and WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) maybe consider a second switch out in the garage hardwired back to the switch in you house. That would mean either an overhead or underground CATx cable but would provide the most reliable and secure method.
While I was typing this a video was on the TV of a whale broaching, almost entirely out of the water, off the coast of Long Branch, NJ. Gorgeous sight and the ocean looked so inviting.

Went to get my Jeep inspected yesterday, I use to inspect vehicles, now I have to have someone do mine. There's a small shop here in town I go to for limited things I can't do myself because I don't have access to the equipment, tire changes, alignments and inspections. Years ago when another guy owned that shop and when I was still twisting wrenches I use to work on the side there at night and weekends, I'd help them diagnose problems they couldn't figure out. It was strange to stand there in that shop, thinking back to those days, when I was younger and fit, where did the time go....

The shop is detached from the house, about forty feet away. Years ago I took down the old overhead power lines from the house to the building and buried new power lines out there, I put a 50 amp breaker box out there so yes it is connected to the house wiring. I don't want to dig and bury another cable out to there, my back won't take it, even using a rented trench digger it would cause me pain hauling and using it.
The DVR needs to plug into a router (or something) with a CAT cable, it doesn't have wireless capability, cheap China DVR. I'll look into the plug in power line wifi extenders, of course, me being me, I'm looking to get out of this as cheap as I can.
I thought if a router can be used to send out a signal and be connected to the existing home wireless network, that would be the cheapest and easiest (on my back) solution, I can get another router like I have now for $35 on Amazon.

I lack the courage to try this. I check Netgear regularly for firmware but going third party is for those more knowledgeable than I.
I've never understood why anyone would enable remote management on a home router. I've never seen one that had it enabled by default either.
I agree, the only reason I can think of is if you wanted to access files or your home cloud system or a computer while away.
A few months ago I upgraded to a much faster Internet speed. And the telephone company came out and make some changes and gave me a new DSL modem/router. And when I asked how do I access it to change the WiFi password or something. He said, oh we don't allow you to go in there. Need something changed, call the telephone company. So I've been trying from time to time to hack into the BEC8920AC. But so far all of my attempts have been futile.
That would involve setting up a VPN via your router, which is not at all the same as "Remote Management".
I've only been squonking for a few months now. But I am guessing it is perfectly normal to find a drop or two of juice down in your 510 connection, right?
