Morning, finally got some caffeine flowing through my veins, meds have kicked in, I'm ready to start the day. Slept in late, felt good, very rarely do I get a good nights sleep.

What's this? Sunshine? A break in the weather for a day, looks like I'll be mowing the lawn while I have a chance. Time to refill the mug and head out to the shop.

@SlickWilly We've got a cat just like that. It's a lynx point himalayan. Riley, outside.View attachment 756801

What a cutie! I've always said we don't own them, they choose to live with us and give us their love.

I lost my buddy of 14 years a few weeks ago, he showed up here as a stray skinny kitten one summer night. I was sitting outside and the next thing I know I have a kitten sitting next to me. We couldn't find anyone who owned him so he just stayed, he adopted me, he never wanted anything to do with anyone else in the family. During the winter he liked to sleep with me snuggled up tight against me, in the summer he'd stay out all night. He'd come into my office, jump up on my chest and want attention for a while then nap on my desk just to be near me, it's been empty without him and I really miss him. The doctor told me his kidneys were badly swollen and had shut down, blood work showed he was full of toxins, "off the charts" and "not something that would naturally occur" I asked her, are you telling me someone poisoned him? "I would have to say it looks that way, it's not natural, the levels are very high" she said. There was no coming back from it and he was suffering in terrible pain, he wouldn't have lasted the day so I held him while they put him down, I didn't want him to be in fear, it broke my heart. God help the person who put him through so much pain if I find out who they are, someone has a sick demented mind to do something like that. It's just not the same around here without him.

    Sad Willy, and I certainly feel for you. We've only ever had cats and dogs, and it's that unconditonal love they give us. It sickens me to see way some humans mistreat them. Those ASPCA commercials make me change the channel almost immediately.
    Riley's now 8, and very high maintenance. They were bred to have their nose almost directly at eye level. Due to that their tear ducts can get blocked easily and their breathing, so wifey uses a warm cloth to clean his face every couple days. And he only likes toilet water after a fresh flush or ice cubes in his water bowl. His half sister Sophie grooms him non stop. He's a loving lazy boy. He gets more attention than me.

    Both my wife and I have had pets all out live's, cats and dogs but more cats. When we have room for another we try to save a stray or one nearing the time limit at a shelter, just seems like the right thing to do. At 61 I've never cried so much for such a long time from loosing a pet but Bernie was more then a pet, he was my friend. He was there to bring me love and happiness through some very, very dark days in my life when I felt so alone and had given up, he helped carry me through, it's left a a huge hole.

    Sitting down, facing forward.
    Just lurking. This is the first day, since last Sunday, that it hasn't been raining already. We're actually getting some sunlight and blue sky. Now, if the humidity will drop it would be a really nice day. I think I'll be harvesting the weed crop in the front and back forty tomorrow.

    My PC cooling project has actually worked, as planned. `200cfm through the case and vented outside has dropped the GPU temperatures almost 15C and the room over 10F. Keep in mind it's a small room and has no air conditioning other than convection from the main part of the house. I can actually mix my liquids now without pouring sweat.
