A while back I almost bought some salt nic. I found a source that seemed acceptable, it was double my freebase nic. Then I thought "am I going to increase my nic % ? I keep it a 1.2% with freebase nic to keep some TH.
I passed on the idea of using salt nic, I'm not interested in using more....more like less.

I'm still curious about "Nic Salts" I'm down to 2mg, so I cant see how higher nic % would benefit Me?
I'm an evolv Fan Boy & would like to have an Orion. If for nothing else to have a Tiny Stealth mod for out & about.
I honestly feel some improvements on the Pod it self would need to be present before I bite!
A simple thread in coil head, with a rebuildable option :thumb:

A few things I noticed, a pod system was intended for a new vaper trying to quit smoking,
A higher nic % (nic salts) a more cigarette like draw. I'm wondering how many new vapers will want to deal with E-Scribe? IMO it's overly complicated for a newb :( This pod is like some thing our crowd would be more comfortable with, only thing were not new vapers looking for high nic low mAH device!
Why would a newbie or even an advanced user ever need to use EScribe with it? I see no reason whatsoever. It should be perfectly fine for use just as it is.

It does look like a quality piece :) I could see it selling for around $50 when it eventually hits FT, not bad for what your getting. I'm wondering why they didn't go with a replaceable coil head instead of the whole pod? Seems to me a waste to chuck out the whole pod, drip tip, fill cap & all :(
A replaceable coil system would cost about as much as a whole new pod. As then you need that SS housing with those butter smooth threading. Then someday that pod will need to be replaced anyway. Now you need a new coil plus a pod.

If you search YT, you can find a pod rebuild video for the JustFog MiniFit. This more interests Me :) If they made their pod, with a replaceable coil & was able to be rebuilt by some one with a bit more vaping experience like Us. This device would be more attractive to Me, or a 3rd pod option "Rebuildable" :)
I bought a Minifit to try to see what the fuss is all about. Flavor is horrible, vapes way too hot, too airy for most (I can do a weak DL with it), and very short battery life. Sure it is cheap though. If I was smoking and looking for a pod system and I bought a Minifit, I'd throw the Minifit away and go out and buy more smokes. :(

I don't like the idea of the "toss it" pod, either. A - I'm cheap! B - It's a waste of materials in this "green world"!
I am not either. But Todd says his pods last 2 months plus. And the pod is plastic and SS, which are recyclable. Now add up two months plus worth of cigarette butts. And which one is worse for the environment again?

Maybe it's me being a cheap skate, but 70-80 bucks seems a little steep for a "starter" system when there's tons of starter stuff out there in the $20 range. Yeah, it's got an Evolv board, Replay and DNA roots, but still.
Ever try those 20 buck pods? They are horrible. :(

You made a lot of good points Bill :) Watch Mike Fakes Video, He better explains the E-Scribe end of it.
Also Todd said 4 pounds for a Pod, that GBP so like 5 or 6 bucks US, No way thats cheaper than a coil head. The only piece in the pod that would need be SS it the threading for the coil head, just a sleeve in the plastic would work :) Or even an ORing like a Boro Tank for the BB :)

I am glad that it was Todd who did that quick review of the Orion. As Todd and myself usually have the same likes and dislikes. And it is pretty brave of him to go on holiday for a week and just taking two Orions. I'm also glad he showed what Evolv EScribe options are with the Orion. As I was curious about how that would work. Although I take it that the DNA Go, the Device Manager just isn't available.

The Breeze 2 coil voltage varies with the battery voltage. So you get a hot vape charged up and a weak vape when low. :(

I don't think anyone thinks the Orion can be compared to a $25 Pod mod.
The consensus seems to be the Pod it self can be improved, not the mod :)

Prebuilt coils tends to run about 3 bucks. The majority of them are too small to put anything worthwhile that produces a really good vape from. They also tend to not last long. While most averages around two weeks and that is about all. Built in coils in pods doesn't have that restriction and can last many times longer. So you want prebuilt coils at 3 bucks and last 2 weeks, or a 6 buck pod that lasts 2 months plus? The former would cost you 6 bucks a month and the latter costs you 3 bucks a month. :)

Going to disagree Bill. Aspire coils are about a $1.50 each from FT! In my BB I cant make a better working coil than the Aspire .3 ohm Coil head, & I'v tried! I have all the so called best bridges, I build my self.
The coil life is going to be directly linked to your juice, a cleaner juice will give longer life!
But a juice full of sugar, like many are, will destroy the coil Quickly :(

I don't see this as a big issue, they can easily produce a new Pod that checks all the box's a more advanced user would like :) My :2c:

Sitting down, facing forward.
Four pounds works out to close to $10 unless the dollar is on a high or the pound took a dive.

The pod may be recyclable but it will end up in the regular waste stream. If it hit the recycle stream where I live, they'd pull it out and toss it in a landfill. Things that gripe me, can't recycle aluminum foil, basically pure aluminum, because they "can't handle" foil products. Seems like a waste to me, pardon the pun.

Incidentally, now that plastic straws are a big environmental hazard the next target looks to be contact lenses. It seems they end up in the sewer systems, because people flush them, rather than in the regular waste stream. I guess we're gonna see a run on glasses real soon now. I also heard, somewhere, that the EU is set to ban matches but I don't know if that's to "save the children" or "save the environment".

$1.50 from China? That is like 3 to 6 weeks of wait. You know how long that is in vape time? 20 new devices could be out by then and by the time it comes you moved on to something else. Happens to me all of the time ordering from China. :(

In my BB I cant make a better working coil than the Aspire .3 ohm Coil head, & I'v tried! I have all the so called best bridges, I build my self.
Got me there! I only have one case of this and that is the Crown 1 prebuilt. It will outperform anything I ever built for the RBA. Not that my builds are bad in it, but their prebuilt coils I like better.

Yes of course. One of the worst I've seen would start to gunk up at about 370°F. In a vertical coil, it could choke off the airflow in about two minutes. But the first 30 seconds, boy was it good. :)

Well they could and I don't see a problem except making a new casting isn't cheap. Maybe that is already planned for Orion v2. :)
