Yeah, that's the one, DW. The problem is that a 2x700 sled doesn't have side walls on the long side. That leaves the bottom and top without any real support against the force of the springs. Something has to give and the plastic gave out in mine. Given the internal size of the case and the width of the
batteries I can see why. I may just leave it in place and install a custom "wedge" on the top and bottom ends.
In terms of contact area versus current draw, with the dual battery setup, parallel
batteries, the current is, technically, halved for each battery. That reduces voltage drop by half at each battery. If the spirit moves me, I'll throw a DVM on it while firing and see what that shows. I don't expect anything significant, though, based on the performance of the
mod.
Mike, the locals came at 11PM because it was convenient for them, gave the night shift something to do, and they know you'll be home and discombobulated when they show up at that hour. A tactical advantage. By the way, there is a little thing called the "5th Amendment" and it is always VERY prudent to keep that in mind whenever dealing with any form of law enforcement.
