Calling computer geeks. I'm out of touch with modern windows I have business software that does everything I need but it is old and XP pro / windows server. It would cost a lot to upgrade it to 64 bit and now the licensing is by year instead of permanent. So I am still running 2 XP pro computers and an archaic server in my small home office. Problem is many other software that I use for personal use have stopped making XP executables along the way and I don't want to have 2 machines, more monitors, or have to use a KVM switch etc at my desk. Any way to run XP pro (I have many legit licenses) concurrently with win10 or perhaps XP software in an emulation mode?

I absolutely loved a GUI on top of bootloader called DOS. Something broken and you can't fix it in Windows because it is in use. Just exit the GUI and fix it in DOS. Then reload the GUI. What a lovely system. And DOS didn't call the shots like many people believe. Rather the Windows kernel called the shots. Windows wasn't limited by DOS whatsoever.
GEOS Ensemble (16 bit) also worked the same way by using DOS as a bootloader. That was a beautiful GUI and it was kicking crappy Windows 2 ..... It was the second most popular GUI right behind the Mac. Or I might be thinking of its earlier 8-bit version for the Commodore 64 was in second place. Anyway I blame their downfall on them refusing to make a 32 bit version. GeoWorks blames Microsoft and their anti-competitive practices. I say bull. Microsoft only charged like 30 bucks for each machine for both Windows and DOS. And GEOS Ensemble cost what, like 200 bucks? If GEOS kept its edge that anti-competitive practice thing wouldn't had mattered. The truth is GeoWorks got lazy while Microsoft worked their .... off. As Windows 3.1 was vastly superior to Ensemble. And GeoWorks was using anti-competitive practices first by cutting deals with IBM and others by putting Ensemble on their low end PCs. But nobody remembers that one.
Then there was Digital Research's GEM. Another GUI using DOS as a bootloader. It didn't go too far since when Gary Kildall lost interest in something, it was a done deal. I still never forgave him that one day he said he was killing off CP/M support and products without any warning whatsoever. Talk about stabbing your customers in their backs.
Sure GUI-OS moved away from using DOS as a bootloader. But all PCs still uses a bootloader (a 16 bit bootloader no less), unless you have a very special BIOS. People think this is better than using DOS as a bootloader. But is it really? I see no proof of this at all.
Now look at what happened later. Now they are using a host OS as a bootloader for other OS calling them VM. But unlike DOS bootloaders, this time the bootloader (host) doesn't .... out, but still calls all of the shots. Worst is the host OS and the client OS slows down the whole system. Now you need a machine twice as fast as before. Sorry, but that is just crazy!

Autocad had to run in a dos shell way back when so I was stuck for years after everyone else was upgraded at Dell. When I finally did get my office system upgraded I was completely lost. I got some pretty weird looks from ppl when I'd ask how to do things in windows. Looks like, "Dude, what rock did you crawl out from under"?

Its been around for at least six years, I am sure someone around here has tried it. I tired making homemade but was very successful, it was hard getting that blue stuff to dissolve.
So, the squonk bottles finally arrived from Slow Tech after the usual delay of Chinese "molasses in January" mail service. I did look at the video that someone posted about converting it to work with a Kanger DB160 POS and decided to have a go at my own modification instead.
I test fit the bottle to see how much might need to be trimmed off. I trimmed the "mouth" about 2mm below the flange and it fits perfectly in terms of length. Next refill of the bottle I'll try a silicon "O" ring on the top of the bottle mouth to tighten up the seal a little. I then put a fresh build into my Aromamizer V, 5 wraps of 26 gauge Ti on a 3.3mm mandrel (drill bit shank) and wicked it up with rayon.
Yes, I did wash the bottle out with Dawn just to be safe but no other treatments, IPA, hydrogen peroxide or anything else.
So far I will say the flavor is spot on. I still need to use it for a while, as in a few bottles, squonk bottles, full before I can really decide if it's all worth the effort. So far it does look like it will be, at least for use in the house. I typically keep the DB-POS on my desk and use it when I'm working on the PC, mixing liquids or rebuilding RTAs. Will it convert me to a squonker? I seriously doubt it, still kind of messy compared to filling an rta.
Another question for you squonkers...Any idea if there's a squonk center pin for a Tsunami? The air inlets are kind of low so it may not make the best squonker, but it is a real "heavy hitter". The "V" has the air inlet on top which means no leaks even if I overdo things.

Yeah, mine neither, that's why I'm wondering if there's a conversion available.
It sure does but squonking is quite the treat, easy to flood and messy with the bottom airflow. I had a hard enough time dripping on the thing.
Probably one of your local B&Ms have a few gathering dust in the back.
Good to make a Kanger POS more usable, I still run my DB2 POS every now and again.
At least it is still working where my Luxotic is acting real strange by continuing to fire after you let go of the button... Not a drop of liquid got on the board or inside the mod at any point and it's not a sticky fire button. I should swap out the tactile switch on the board to see if it's the problem.

I saw that conversion pin and it's not in stock. The B&Ms around here are kind of, shall we say, on the "seedy" side and don't have much in the way of more sophisticated supplies but maybe I'll give it a try. I've had problems with the Tsunami as a dripper too, puddles still happen but not too often any more. Got to count the drops carefully and check the wicks before dripping to gauge the amount which does make it kind of a PITA.
