Just got an email deal alert to this Weller soldering gun, this thing is a HD beast, high dual heat that can solder battery cables. I've had one of these for almost 30 years, used it while working as a mechanic and it cost me more then this back then. Not something you'd want to use building atty's and be careful about using on sensitive circuit boards, it can damaging them. But it's great for general soldering jobs, like working on auto's. Should last a lifetime and likely your kids will end up with it.
Weller Welding/Soldering Products: 260/200-Watt Soldering Gun Kit w/ Case $36 & More

i believe in universal health care) ;)
I have universal health care called the VA. This is the model that they want for the whole country. And it is HORRIBLE! It is so bad that I have better care by treating myself. If we had universal healthcare, people would be too afraid to go to the doctor. :(

One thing is for sure, once the government takes control over anything, they destroy it. I can't think of a single exception. :(

Sitting down, facing forward.
My comment is that if you like going to the DMV or going to a Social Security office, you'll just love "universal health care". Remember the most dangerous words in American English - "I'm from the Government and I'm here to help".

There was an article on Fox recently, I know fake news, about a Cnadian man who got an appointment for his hip replacement which he needs desperately. Problem is the appointment is in 2032.

I like our health care system here in Canada, it's nice to know that I'm not going to have to take out a $25K loan to have this gall bladder removed.
No loan, but how long can you wait until you get surgery?

Interesting thing about Amazon and returns recently and his wasn't the only story of it.

A member on the Headphone group I moderate ordered a $650 FiiO M11 Pro digital audio player for his nephew, upon opening the Amazon box he found that the product box was previously opened. So he checked and there was a cheap amplifier inside of what was supposed to be the M11's box. He immediately opened a claim RMA'ed the box back to Amazon (4 days) and waited for the refund.

Six weeks go by so he calls them, spoke to numerous return CS people and a few managers that basically told him until he returns the M11 Pro he won't get a refund. Needless to say he was furious and explained the situation to every one he spoke to about not receiving the product that was actually supposed to be in the box.

This guy has bought thousands and thousands of dollars worth of stuff on Amazon over the years with a handful of returns so it was far from any kind of scam on his part. It all fell on deaf ears.

Amazon told him if he had made an unboxing video of the package they would have issued a refund immediately, so his advice to the group was to video every expensive package you get from Amazon just in case. There is a serious scam situation with Amazon returns so it might be a good idea to CYA just in case.

Troll Dragon please let us know the outcome of this. I have returned a few high $$ item to Amazon and they have refunded the $ as soon as the items were picked up and scanned by UPS.
I will, if he gets resolution.

He is very hot headed, swore off Amazon for good and then gave his Amazon account and a $3K Amazon gift card to his nephew and told him to get whatever he wanted. Others have chimed in with purchasing a $300 headphone cable only to find a dollar store micro USB in the box that was refunded immediately, so it's quite random.

Either way I'd video the unboxing of higher priced stuff until you are sure of the contents to keep yourself safe.

It’s not that bad! Some things have a longer waiting list, less important things.

Our system is still pretty good for. Now!

the thing about a system like ours for the US. Is the numbers, there are. Ten times more. Americans. Than. Canadians
I’m not saying it can’t work, just would cost lots! We’re would the $$ come from?

The wait depends on the specialist and operating room availability. Usually immediately if you go to Emerg. My daughter waited 4-6 weeks for her ear problems.
Although it's Canada wide, it's actually different by Province (your state) right down to drug availability if it's in their formulary. If you're from a different province you still don't get a bill. Family GP's in Ontario get paid around $45 for a 10 minute appointment. You have to see them first for a referral to a specialist (which lasts for a year) and then another referral after a year of not seeing him/her. Dental and Eyecare is not covered for most in Ontario. Once you're a senior citizen, all rules change for the better.
My wife gets around ~$5k worth of a blood product monthly for a Chronic condition caused from a vaccination. There was no other compensation or help/assistance. Canada is also one the only countries where you cannot sue for vaccine injuries.
Quebec our predominantly French province has 2 separate medical systems, the English and the French side and they never cross language boundaries.

Cool! I love headphones and speakers. ;) I have been testing some Vizio Crave Pro speakers for a couple weeks. Yeah nothing as good as my Sansui SP-X9000 though, but not too bad.

Sounds like my ordeal with DJI (quad drone). I bought one on sale from Newegg and it was really messed up. Contacted Newegg and they said to contact DJI directly. I did and they said just ship it back to them and they will take care of it. I did and they said they never got it even though FedEx said it was delivered with a signature. Contacted Newegg to help me and they said the same thing, just send it to DJI and it will be taken care of. The FedEx tracking with signature meant nothing to Newegg nor DJI.

So I contacted my credit card company and they sided on my side and gave me my money back. Newegg banned me from their site and DJI wouldn't talk to me anymore. But a DJI rep on a forum heard about my case 6 months later and sent me out a new quad drone. So it kind of worked out in the end with a quad I didn't pay for (although I bought others from them before) and I am now banned for life from Newegg.

The wife needed a double arthrodesis in her foot to correct a problem she's had since childhood. The top specialist here has a 3 year waiting list as he is the only one in the province that does this kind of surgery. She was sent to a different osteo doctor first, after one look at the x-ray of her foot he said it was basically above and beyond he area of expertise and sent a letter off to the top specialist. In a year and a half she was in and had the procedure done.

If it's not life threatening then yes you can wait a while. Stop into any ER and you will find it full of people with the sniffles and sore toe type of issues, this is where most of the long wait complaints come from. If you are sitting there waiting for your itchy .... to be looked at and three ambulances come in with cardiac or respiratory problems they obviously get served first and should. The triage nurses do an excellent job of sorting the wheat from the chaff. :D

Great that you got the Drone issue resolved, too bad about Newegg, I've never found many deals thee anyway. The CC clawback seems to be the only way to go these days.

I got a replacement DVR from bell for the defective one we had and promptly sent the old one back prepaid with tracking. The following months phone bill had a $250 charge on it for a DVR that I didn't send back... So I had to make a phone call to Bell and make them check the tracking number to show that it was received by one of their monkeys... I kept the post office receipt just in case this would happen and good thing I did, still had to make the phone call and sit on hold though.

Nice looking speakers! If I ever have a chance to use speakers there will be a pair of Tekton Pendragons brought in, $1800 for a pair of quality full range speakers is basically unheard of in that price range.

If you are sitting there waiting for your itchy .... to be looked at and three ambulances and cop cars come in with fighting drunks they obviously get served first so the cops can get them to the station and back on the road. ;)

I wish they would at least send out a statement of visits, as it seems easy for fraudulent billing by unscrupulous doctors
