You might want to have a look at the Nitecore UM4 it's USB powered but really designed to use a QC 2.0 compatible USB source (5V/2A). If the solar panel puts out 5V/2A then all is good, otherwise it would be a slow charge.

I have two solar power chargers classwife. Although those small solar panels only putout at best 200mAh. It would take a few days to charge them up at that rate. Although I see that have some that has like five solar panels that unfold. That should give 1000mAh worth of charging.

The whole problem with solar panels is that the rating is, IMHO, designed to mislead. The rating is under direct sunlight which, in reality, is hard to achieve unless you live in the desert or somewhere else where it doesn't rain. It also helps to be closer to the equator so the angle is easier to maintain during the day.

What causes a coil to pop, and spit, like a bubble bursting?

I always thought the main culprit was if there was a gap between the coil and the wick, ie the wick not being thick enough.

That doesnt appear to be the case here though. This is a full rope of Sally's rayon in a 3mm coil, it looks nice and full to me.

Pop and sizzle are the result of the relatively cool liquid hitting the hot coil. If you ever find out why some builds do that, while other don't, let me know. Some seem to do it more than others and some don't do it at all, no matter how tightly I wick the coils. What really puzzles me is that I use the same coil in all my mods and get different results from build to build.
