Expanding my existing kit. Buy another kit? Just new batts? Or what?

If there are none left for me later I'm blaming you. ;)

LOLL I've got a few friends/ converts on limited income that have been using a Kgo 3.7 volt for the last 9 months- batts are beginning to lose their charge and they've been dreaming about VV/ VW. Hopefully their present batts can hold out.

OK, I've found another source or two for the iTaste VV V3 and MVP, with comparable pricing. I think I can get a decent price even if the prices we've been talking about expire, or they run out of stock. Also there's a question about just a simple unit (with either model), or a "full kit", I have to ask, if I get a more "bare bones' kit, can I buy compatible usb chargers seperately? Is there a compatible wall socket/AC adapter to use with both models- essentially anything that won't cause any damage? This is a big question that I haven't thought about or asked until just now. I can't always count on having a functioning computer to plug a usb cord charger into. Also, kind of the same question about Vision Spinners or Smoktech Winders 900-1300mah in both cases. Again, any usb charger and wall socket usb adapters that will work without causing damage. I suppose if I just know the ratings to look for in a charger then I can look it up. I'll do more googling etc. Think I'm close to having this whole "lovely mess" sorted out. Thank's again for all the advice from everybody! :)

I just want to make one last point for you OP. I know a lot of vapers on ECF that have tried the Sigelei V3. So far, I haven't found one that like the MVP 2.0 better than the Sigelei V3.....so far. Maybe this post will bring them out of the woodwork, we'll see. But people that I do trust online here with a lot of vape time under their belts, they do seem to prefer the Sigelei over the MVP, for what it's worth. I predict FT will have the MVP 2.0 for less than $40 within 60 days anyway. Call it a hunch.

I love my Sigelei v3. I have a stainless steel mini with tapered head and pips. :)

I don't own an MPV so I can't compare the two, but many folks like them. I just didn't want an APV with a proprietary, built-in battery. And I'm not very keen on box mods generally, but that's just a personal preference.

That said, for 32 bucks, you can't go wrong. It's a good battery!

Another reason I like the Sigelei Zmax is the dual 510/eGo threading:

If you use eGo-threaded toppers, like I do, that dual threading is a very nice feature. 510>eGo adapters are really hit or miss; half of them don't thread properly.

I just bought a new Aspire eGo-threaded clearomizer because it was the only one that was offered in glass--everything else in the Aspire line looks like cheapo plastic (and glue). I'm using it on my Sigelei--and I like it so far, even though I never liked the traditional dual coil cartos/clearos that had one top and one bottom coil. I'm actually surprised how good it is.

I like the Nitecore Intellicharge chargers. Efest IMR batteries are OK, but you have to make sure your mod will work with flat tops--some do, some don't, so do your research. It's a matter of size, not function, AFAIK. I use AW IMR button top batteries for my mods. Read the specs or ask someone in this thread--they use the big Zmaxes:

Maybe-at those prices- I'll get a MVP2 and a Zmax V3. I'm wondering if the efest batts and chargers are ok. Will do some searching here I suppose. Also if there is any functional difference between the flat-top and the round-top models, or if it's just a matter of aesthetics.

The diff between the round top and flat top- round top looks good on it's own but when a tank is attached there's an indentation where the tank meets the tube. Flat Top there's a continuous straight line when tank is attached and looks nicer IMO. So Bill and Katya, two highly experienced, savvy and trustworthy Vets, have reco'ed the Zmax based on personal experience...sounds good enuff for me

Ok, that's good. If I get the Zmax, I think I'll go with the Nitecore Intellicharge (2 batt model), and since they don't seem to carry the AWR's I'd prob just default to the efest.
I just read through several pages of that thread, idk...it seems like there tend to be some issues with the Zmax, I'm a little hesitant. Any increased likelihood of having to deal with needing warranty replacement/service is definitely something in the con column- but maybe these issues are rarer than my recent reading leads me to believe. Also, until I get past the beginning-to-moderate vaping phase idk if I can really give the Zmax an intense enough trial before the warranty-replacement window closes. Does this make as much sense as it seems to me?
If the MVP2 is indeed a little more idiot/newbie proof (as it seems from reading an MVP2 thread here) maybe it'd be a better choice for a first larger unit. I do like the idea of being able to replace just the batts, for sure, and although the Zmax seems kind of complicated, often electronic devices end up being less complicated than they first appear. I'll do some more research about the Zmax 3, even the V5 if it has any refinements making it easier to work with or more reliable...
I did less research before buying my car, heh! :)

I like the thought of the mechs being simple, in the sense of no menus and less circuitry to fail. However I do want to be able to adjust voltage, and perhaps wattage without opening the device, at least at this point in my vaping journey. Also having an ohm-checker sounds good. I'd think at some point I could make my own coils, but idk how far in the future.

I don't know/remember about the iTaste's/Vamo's/Zmax'es, but I'm wondering...are there some decent, affordable mods that have a dedicated firing button which is totally functionally separate from the button(s) used for the menu. My reasoning is that I'd like to adjust my settings and then just park my thumb/finger on the firing button then being able hit/hold the button while puffing without accidentally accessing the menu or affecting any settings. Are most of them single button units or otherwise? I'll look for a thread that addresses this kind of stuff, but haven't come across it yet....

edit, looks like the MVP2 has separate firing button, can't tell about the iTaste VV3...

Oops... I thought OP was asking about flat top batteries vs button top ones...

If he asked about the Zmax flat top vs tapered top, then of course you're correct. It's purely cosmetic. I like the tapered top because I use small heads, no more than 19mm diameter, so they mount perfectly flush.
