I decided to try some expensive gourmet juices for around 20 bucks for 30mls. They were O.K. but not worth the extra scratch. I have been using MBV juices exclusively since I started vaping and was wondering why some other companies charge so much for their juices. They must be that much better right? They must taste amazingly better to justify the larger pricetag. Well.....no they don't, at least the few places I tried didn't. So back to mount baker vapor for the "cheap" juices that taste just as good ,for a fraction of the price, as these "gourmet" juices.

Taste is completely subjective. I personally find MBV juices super fake and cheap tasting. That doesn't mean that I don't enjoy them but there are definitely better quality juices out there. What "high end" juice company did you try?

I tried ahlusion, pink spot, and AVE juices and I'm not saying I didn't like them, I did. It's just for the price I thought they would taste different somehow from MBV whose prices are a fraction of these high end juice makers. The juices I got were just as good as MBV they just cost way more which is a waste of money. I think they are all using the same ingredients some vendors just mark them up way more.

I have been using Mt. Baker and am inclined to agree with the original post. I think they taste fine. I don't notice a discernible difference between them and the more expensive ones. Part of my goal when I started vaping was, in addition to my own health and my family's, was to save money. The less expensive juices make that possible.

Hey brother if that works for you then more power to you. Stick with MBV then. Great company all around.

I have cake from Copper Creak and cake MBV and let me tell you there is no comparison. I also have Orange makes me creamsickle from AiV and orange dream bar from MBV and again zero comparison. Knowing this I could hand these four flavours to you and may not even be able to tell the difference. Going back to my original point that taste is subjective. Just buy what works for you. :)

They do all use the same ingredients; pg, vg, nicotine, and flavoring. If the flavorings MBV suit you that's awesome since they are cheap. I started with Madvapes since they were super cheap and they worked at the time, though several were some real duds. Price doesn't always equal quality, I've heard Pink Spot uses the same Lorrann flavors as the cheap places but sells them for more (just what I've heard, never had Pink Spot myself).

Myself, I'm more than happy to pay more for the less generic vendors that either make their own flavorings, extract their own tobaccos, or are fantastic mixers of common flavorings. Even $15 for 30ml is still not a financial burden to me, much cheaper than smoking and after years of vaping, the same ol same ol generic mixers just aren't as enjoyable to vape, especially after experiencing very well crafted juices.

I have tried more expensive juices, and I have tried $10 for 30 ml juices.
I like both but cannot afford to buy big bottles so I get smaller bottles of the more expensive stuff
and then stock up on 30 mls of the cheaper stuff.

I'm also getting into DIY so I can save more money
but some flavors I like enough to spend more $$ on

There are some juices that are entirely worth the money. BWBs Casablanca and Applewood for example. Copper Creek's house blend. I've never tried the famed boba's bounty but I imagine it is worthy also.

Everything else you can pretty much make on your own for about 25% the cost..

That's a good way to go about it. I don't ALWAYS need to be vaping the impressive stuff, but since the juice part is the main part of the hobby for me it's what I prefer most the time. For people who aren't interested in making the artisan flavors part of the hobby, these cheap vendors are great, but they may enjoy some quality stuff to have on occasion. Even if someone is happy with McDonalds every day, a good steak on occasion can be appreciated. I'd prefer a good steak every day, but I can still handle something just meant to fill my belly.

I promise you that's that true. You won't come close to duplicating, eg. Ahlusion or HHV tobaccos.

I hate bringing up analogs but might as well...

I smoked NewPorts, a menthol tobacco
A cheaper menthol tobacco would have been American Sprites [or whatever]

I paid extra, because I 'thought' the flavor was better [lots of people agree with me]
Same thing with eLiquid.

More expensive can be better.. It's not a rule. But good companies charge the correct price.

I like MbV [wearing one of there tshirts right now honestly], but the simple Flavors are what I use them for, like peach, menthol, cotton candy.
I'll go high end for something like Unicorn Blood, or even Pluid [i love it with scotch!] because these Flavors are much more complex.

But same is true for everything, I have a mech mod and RSST that cost 60ish together. But I also have a IHybrid that's 255. Both really work the same. But you pay extra for quality, and there is nothing wrong with that.

If it works for you, work it! :)

i will try ahlusion...what do you recommend....i like tobaccos either on their own or with a bit of fruit

I like their tea flavors, but I am a tea person
The sweet cherry something is good as well
but unfortunately, I don't do tobacco vapes so I can't recommend any there ... :(

You could ask that in the Natural Tobacco thread or the Ahlusion tobacco thread floating around if you want some specific recommendations. You'll want to say specifically what you're looking for in a tobacco. In general I would say go for the aromatic line for intense tobaccos, and the non-aromatic line for milder tobaccos. They have a lot of fruit tobaccos so you could find the fruit tobacco combo you're interested in.
