I hate bringing up analogs but might as well...

I smoked NewPorts, a menthol tobacco
A cheaper menthol tobacco would have been American Sprites [or whatever]

I paid extra, because I 'thought' the flavor was better [lots of people agree with me]
Same thing with eliquid.

More expensive can be better.. It's not a rule. But good companies charge the correct price.

I like MbV [wearing one of there tshirts right now honestly], but the simple Flavors are what I use them for, like peach, menthol, cotton candy.
I'll go high end for something like Unicorn Blood, or even Pluid [i love it with scotch!] because these Flavors are much more complex.

But same is true for everything, I have a mech mod and RSST that cost 60ish together. But I also have a IHybrid that's 255. Both really work the same. But you pay extra for quality, and there is nothing wrong with that.

If it works for you, work it! :)

YES
I paid more for "name brand" marlboros
so I guess I'm willing to do the same thing with eliquid.

I agree with skoot, I can't imagine not having virgin vapors eliquid.
I used to buy cheap crappy stuff and when I found virgin vapors it was like lightyears beyond what I had been vaping.
No chemically taste, it didn't make my mouth sore and dry, etc

I can get cheaper but most really cheap vendors you can't get 100% vg
and I can't deal with that. it's not worth it to sacrifice my health for a few bucks, that's the way I look at it.

I don't really care how much any given juice costs (well, within reason), if I try it and really like it, I'll keep buying it. I tend to ration my more pricey juices though, whereas I don't feel compelled to be so conservative with my MBV stuff. A couple of 50ml bottles of MBV juices that I like can make a 30ml bottle of Boba's or Malty Toffee last a looooong time.

i will try ahlusion...what do you recommend....i like tobaccos either on their own or with a bit of fruit

Fair warning with the aromatic tobaccos, they smell musty and initial reaction may be confusion if you haven't tried true, bold tobacco liquid. Don't discard it if you don't understand the flavor at first. Put it away until one of those days you have a persistent urge for an analog, pop whatever aromatic you got in good carto (that's what works for me) and feel the urge subside.

That's pretty much the biggest reason I spend whatever Ahlusion and other somewhat pricier vendors charge to have their juice.

Maybe a little bit better than some, but not enough to warrant a $20-$22 30ml bottle.

Depends on the person. To you what's a little bit better may be greatly better to someone else. Most of the ones I consider great vendors are in the $15 for 30ml range; HHV, Ahlusion, MOV, GeJ, W2V, etc. I'd prefer to pay $15 for what's great to me than $10 for what's mediocre, especially since 30ml equals a lot of vape time.

They must be that much better right? They must taste amazingly better to justify the larger pricetag. Well.....no they don't, at least the few places I tried didn't.

Look at it from a standpoint of any market. What determines price is what the consumer is willing to pay, yes? When I first started vaping nearly 4 years ago there werent many e-liquid choices to be had. As vendors started to pop up the 50 cents per mil price tag was pretty much standard. Some of those early vendors haven't drifted too far off that mark. Vendors want our business, natch, so as a whole they stay within that range.

However, there are cheap grades of PG and VG. One can tell the difference after awhile and sometimes can even make the connection from vendor to vendor that are using the same (cheaper) PG and VG... at least I can for the most part. One thing to look for is how quickly the e-liquid vaporizes. I'm a dripper. I know through experience that a quality e-liquid (like Backwoods brew and Vermillion River to name a couple) gives me 6 to 8 solid hits before a re-drip is necessary. Less expensive liquids will net me less than 4 hits before *re-fueling*. And, just because an e-liquid vendor says that his/her juice is "made in the USA" it does NOT mean that the nicotine is derived through a USA lab. Whether that matters to the individual or not is irrelevant, as the point of interjecting that into the conversation is price related.

As always it always comes down to what one likes. While I use mostly higher quality liquids I will reach for the cheap as dirt Wenston from DeKang on occasion. I wont buy any of that $1 a mil stuff Ive seen out there. I dont WANT to like it. LOL

Its all subjective tbh. I like decaf coffee with no cream or sugar. I like raw unflavored yogurt. I also enjoy grinding up raw ginger root and a clove of garlic and boiling it into my tea. Other people might think any and all of that is disgusting. Thus, the same is true for eliquids.

I have tried DeejStuff, Halo, VapeDudes, HHV, ECBlends, and MBV. I've found that MBV is my go-to due to the price, speedy shipping, etc, but I've also really enjoyed some of the more expensive stuff and will be re-ordering (Nilla-No-Bake from VapeDudes, SubZero and Belgian Cocoa from Halo, HHV waffles). As long as you keep your budget balanced and stay away from cigarettes, you're doing it right.

I've had gourmet e-liquids that are definitely, IMO, worth the price and the wait (not just AIV lol). And some that were SO bad that it was amazing that anyone thought they were good. Even after steeping for a month, they still tasted like .... I couldn't even give those away and they got trashed.
I've had good cheap ones too but if it's a couple flavors mixed, I just make them myself. The way my tastes have changed since I've quit smoking is pretty extreme so I don't want to spend a boatload on something I'm not going to like next month.

I tried ahlusion, pink spot, and AVE juices and I'm not saying I didn't like them, I did. It's just for the price I thought they would taste different somehow from MBV whose prices are a fraction of these high end juice makers. The juices I got were just as good as MBV they just cost way more which is a waste of money. I think they are all using the same ingredients some vendors just mark them up way more.

What flavors from Ahlusion? I never liked PSV. AVE has Bobba's going for it. I like Bobba's, but I'm on a break from it.

I tried MBV for the first time the other day. Butterscotch, Hawk Sauce, Peach rings. Only the Butterscoth is 'ok'.

All over the place
Now, what I don't understand really is this notion that gourmet juices, namely Ahlusion, are so over priced. Their juices (30 mL) are about the same as loads of other vendors at the $15 a 30 mL mark. Halo is what I consider expensive. Halo is also not what I would consider "gourmet" but their prices seem like such. Ahlusion will give you a free 10 mL of your choosing (if in stock) with purchase of eliquid over $20. It works out to, maybe not cheap, but for me, not what I would consider exorbitantly priced liquid. However, this is coming from someone who sees the price of eliquid differently than many. I don't DIY and I know exactly what I want (something that no DIYer can do at home, though I imagine there are great DIYers), so I am not throwing money away on liquid anymore, even if cheap. If I buy 100 mL of juice for $50 dollars worth of liquid and only like 50 mL worth, that means that liquid buy was, based on cost benefit analysis, $50 for 50 mL <---and that is expensive.

I think one of the biggest things that people are not understanding about pricing is that some of these "gourmet" vendors are not using DIY flavorings, e.g., LorAnn's, Perfumer's Apprentice, Flavour Art. The cost of extracting your own flavors in-house will increase the price of the product. Of course, this doesn't mean the juice will be to you liking, but it isn't a ripoff to charge more for a liquid that requires a process that costs more--after all, having to buy product for extraction is a lot less cost efficient than buying synthetic concetrates. Of course vendors that are using the same flavorings that any home DIYer can buy would make the price of a 30 mL at $15+ seem VERY much like highway robbery. Maybe it won't hurt as badly if they wear a Halo atop their head when they take your money. LOL

I ran my own business for a while. I don't think it's unfair to charge whatever the heck you can for anything. If people will pay, so be it. Absolutely any of these businesses are small garage shops at best, facing imminent Federal interference. More power to them. Wait until Big Tobacco gets involved, with coincidentally favorable legislation that empowers them and bans the small shops.

I just order from places that I love their juice, period. My favorites so far range across the board: ECBlends, VapeDudes, and AiV. MBV I'm trying again because I just didn't love it the first time, but I think that was me ... I ordered 50/50 with no extra flavor shots. I'm trying again with extra flavor this time to compensate for the higher VG content than their house blend. The flavor was good, there just wasn't enough of it.

If your looking for good vapes I have been buying my Vanilla flavor from Kick Bass Vapor for over a year and its my all day vape. I have even tried to combine other flavors/ or switching to a different flavor and I find my way back to this one every time.

After trying more than 8 brands of Vanilla from many different US vendors KBV has been very good to me and price wise can't be beat for the quality I receive. It is a small company but run very well. I also stumbled accross a brand called two peas in a pod brand.. locally sold and made and I mix their vanilla flavor with the Vspot van from KBV and its delicious. Hope you find what your looking for good luck!!!
