Howdy,

Regardless of what her issues are or even the reasons behind it, the simple fact is that she doesn’t agree with it. I believe that the argument goes both ways on this one. Yes it is true that financially it would be wise to allow people to vape at work, and given that is far cleaner then an Analog there shouldn't be an issue with it.
On the flip side of the coin we tend to forget that not everyone cares for the scent or smell of it. Low and behold yes it does leave a scent that some may or may not feel they like. Then there are the issues of allergies, yes some people may be allergic to PG, VG or even the flavorings in the e-liquid. Also there is the fact it still looks like "Smoke" to someone that is not used to it, which has no place in a corporate or office setting especially if high visibility is a factor with clients.
I personally don't gripe about people that ask me to move on or not vape in their area. We do after all share the same air space so I need to offer the respect I'd like to see in return. Keep in mind we are trying to set a good image for all the people that vape out there, and not regarding rules is one way to make a hater real quick. I've seen this with the spread of issues from dog owners to skateboarders, the bottom line is they did it anyways after being asked not to.
Just my point of view on this one...

Our 'clients' are generally in cells, so not much of an issue on that one! Haha! I agree with your points, which is why as soon as she raised an issue I went outside as didn't want to press the point and end up in a battle I wouldn't win or create a negative reputation for vapers. I'm toying with the idea of speaking her again when she's calmed a bit to see what the issue is about it, when no-one else in four months has had one, just to see what her understanding of vaping is more than anything. Education could be the answer.

I had a discussion with a store clerk about e-cigs the other day. They equated an ecig to a cig and kept babbling about smoke. I finally said I thought water mist was a lot better than smoke.
As far as the smell? I can't stand asthma inhalers. My husband has asthma and if I'm around when he uses one, that smell makes me gag. So the smell could be offensive, but this sounds like the mere thought was offensive to this lady.

My agency became a smoke-free business as of January 1st and the new policy clearly states that electronic cigarettes are also banned because they portray an image to the public that our agency does not promote. Meaning it still looks like you are smoking.
But that doesn't stop me from vaping in the ladies room!:D

They banned vaping along with tobacco on a current construction project Im working. It went in to affect Jan 1st. I do not observer their silly rules I vape as I like. Ive been told every day since the 2nd Im not supposed to vape I always reply with then build this stuff your self! Each time the nicotine police leave with a wounded look on their face.

In New Jersey (my state) they actually ban vaping in public areas and workplaces. I would at least appreciate employers to be able to make this decision themselves... As far as offensive smells, I have worked with people who put on so much perfume that I can't stand to be in a roon HOURS AFTER THEY HAVE LEFT IT! Much worse than anything that's ever come out of my e-cig.

As far as I can tell, vaping is still OK here in VA, even with the indoor smoking ban. The last official words I can find on the matter is a letter from our Attorney General specifically stating that vaping is not smoking and therefore not part of the ban. I plan to vape indoors unless asked to stop but I have yet to be asked to stop. I keep it discrete and don't blow huge clouds when in a bar, restaurant, etc. and I have never even been looked at funny.

It sucks when someone not fully educated on the matter makes a snap judgement. I would suggest using that chance to educate them on the good things about vaping.

i would think more employers would be happy about using PV's because of this very reason. more employees not having to burn 5-10mins of paid time to burn one...good for the company!

think about it...even 5 cigs a day would be nearly an hour they paid you for and you did zero work.

at minimum wage for a FT employee that's easily 40$ a week your saving them.

2,080$ a year! for just one employee. show a company it saves them money and they will support it!
10 employees would be 20,800$ a year, no company is gonna balk at saving 20k a year. that pays for an entire employee making minimum wage for almost a year!

My boss was ecstatic when I walked in the office back in November with my PV. As a result, he used me as an example and the other 3 smokers on my team kicked the analogs and started vaping. Now my boss is asking me to take breaks as I stay at my desk all day long LOL.

Could you see this conversation?
County commissioner why did the new sewer plant come in way over budget and way past time frame?
Well one of the reason's is we had to fire the field superintend for the Iron Workers
Why did you fire him was he coming in late? Working his men in an unsafe manner? Doing substandard work?
No NO He came each and every day in fact I remember one time he came in with the flew and sat buy a garbage can and threw up all day so his crew cold continue working.
He has had no accidents on his jobs in 8 years and he dose exceptional work every detail is exactly as specs call for. Never failed not one inspection.
We fired him for Vaping!!!!!!! We just cant have construction workers doing safer tobacco alternatives on our property It is a sewer plant for God sakes!!!!

I guess I just don't like to make waves and of the mentality that if people don't see it, it is easier. My wife will vape in public places and people give it a look every now and again.. I prefer the stealth mode vaping. I figure if you make people aware of it, eventually someone will complain....and I hate to ruin a good thing.
