I tend to usually get asked by smokers. Can't say I've had a lot of non-smokers ask about it. And, oddly, many know what it is and usually just ask to confirm if it's an e-cig, probably because I'm using it indoors and NC has a no smoking indoors law now. Had a woman ask about it yesterday, she was a smoker, and I realized 15 minutes in that she'd asked enough questions about it that I'd taken mine apart to show her how easy it was to use. But it was worth it. She was really interested in it and wanted one, and she was considering one of the ones you get at the gas station before I explained my ego and where she could get one local.

I grin and bear it when it comes to the inevitable convo about vaping to the uninitiated. I try my best to offer as much info as possible so as not to give vapers a bad name. With that said......

Me and a buddy were stopping at a store the other day and a lady saw me vaping and asked me what it was with a really cocky attitude. I told her it was crack and proceeded to do the robot in my car. She rolled up her window and drove off shaking her head.

Im sure priests even get tired of selling the bible every now and then.

Well, had zero explaining to do today. It was about 324 degrees outside and I didn't have to go outside with everyone else to smoke. I think they finally got it. LOL!

You need to figure out a shorter spiel.

"Are you smoking?"
"No, it's a placebo device to make me think I'm smoking so I don't smoke."
Then if they ask for more you can go into the heating coil and PG/VG.

If you have a 15 minute spiel I'd be amazed if you get any repeat askers.

Even though I'm bald and shaved I think my waist long hair still follows me. Strangers don't usually talk to me.

I've been vaping in "Everywhere" in public for years

I guess it might depend on what area of the country
ya live in ... However, here in Missouri, even the non-smokers
I've encountered (at best) only find e-cigs interesting. Most
don't even notice or if they do ... say anything one way or another.

If someone ask ... I just say Electronic cigarette and 98% reply
OH, I've heard about them and I know people that use them.

People no longer even ask for much info about e-cigs. Most seem
to know someone that is using an e-cig and think its great idea
for smokers. No one, that I've encountered, is afraid of them or
thinks they are dangerous.

The FDA and all those opposed to tobacco in any form cause
trouble in the media but the general public is getting educated
fast that any negatives they have heard is just so much propaganda.

Went to the doctor the other day and while sitting in the waiting room ...
I talked with a number of people (everyone could hear us). At one
point I said in a loud voice ... Of course, as we all know, FDA approval
means stuff is safe ... Everyone laughed.

I have vaped with my two piece in the doctor's office and dentist's office and nobody said anything. Some looked at me kind of strangely. Mine don't really look like a real cig as they have a green glow, which I purposely got. I would just rather not call it an ecig if I don't have to. I think the "cig" part of the word is a little misleading, but if I'm going to go into great detail then I do refer to them as ecig since I want them to get accurate info.

I understand the apprehension around referring to a PV as an E-cig
due to the association with cigarettes. However, the public knows
them as "Electronic cigarettes" and knows they are not the real thing.

Most confusion is when someone is vaping a white mini with a glowing red tip

I no longer refer to them as a Personal Vaporizer or other names that
the public wouldn't understand.

It's an "Electronic cigarette" or E-cigarette. "E-cig" is just a slang term
that is used by those in the e-smoking community"

You tell someone its an Personal Vaporizor ...
They look at you like you have 2 heads.


Today most either know someone who is vaping
or at the very least heard about e-cigs
