I guess I'm weird because I am proud that I us vaping to give up a 35+ year habit that was going to kill me.

I'm not really sure what you are embarrassed about, you chose a healthier lifestyle. I can say without a doubt I am never embarrassed about my choice.
This exactly; I'm VERY proud to have finally gotten free of cigarettes, and only vaping ever permitted that. I don't blow "clouds" even when I'm by myself at home, and what little vapor I do exhale hasn't really got much scent at all; maybe slightly fruity or bakery; certainly far less odious than any 'air freshener' I've ever smelled! So I vape pretty much anywhere I can get away with it -- not when I'm shopping, because I have other things to do than get into some whizzing contest with a self-righteous idiot, but if I need to use the restroom, what goes on behind the stall door is my affair and no one else's. If I'm outdoors, I vape, and if someone wants to ask me about it, great! Considering the treatment that vaping is getting in the press, vapers NEED to be out there vaping visibly, so that people can see and get familiar with it; the more it is seen, the less threatening it will seem to everyone -- everyone except all those greedy rascals getting fat on tobacco and NRT money.
