Just like you see memes online about how vegans or crossfitters or gluten free people are .......s, it's because there's a tiny, but vocal minority in those groups who make what they're doing into everyone elses business and don't shut the .... up about it ever.
Now... you may be surprised to hear, there's memes about vapers being .......s too, because there's a small minority of us who never shut the .... up about it and or are the kind of dick who has to vape in every building they enter because "it's not illegal and it's not smoke man!" or do .... like blow clouds on a ....ing bus. Some people are really sensitive to smells (I myself can't go near the perfume section of a store without barfing for instance)
Just like nobody notices or cares about the vegans who keep their diet off facebook, nobody notices the vapers that aren't douchenozzles in public and then these types of memes and posts start to come up.

Usually the guys with the "hipster beards" get blamed. So I'm glad this isn't about me for a change lol
I have run into this favorite ANTZ lie many times in public and at work. I do my best to counter it. Sometimes I'm successful, sometimes not. Sometimes their cup is already full, and they hate vaping because they hate smoking, and are not willing to listen.
Well, to be accurate it is actually more than that. Facebunk is a rich source of narcissistic supply for millions, as well as a podium for political hate.

Having been a smoker for 50 years I obviously know how I reacted when I heard about vaping. I wish I could be confident that if I had never smoked I would have a positive and knowledgeable attitude to vaping today. Not sure if that's true though. Maybe I would have bought into the propaganda like so many others have. Years ago when I came across vaping I didn't have to fight my way through all the negative propaganda that's out there now. Would I have been able to see through it?
People who have been friends for years, and aren't particularly closed minded in general, think I've jumped from the frying pan into the fire. Nothing I say changes their opinion, they want to save me. Other folks I talked to and they have come around, a few even picked it up themselves. You never can tell.

Man, I'm glad I live in such a small town, insulated from all of these db's you're all running across. (Atlanta). In the past 4 years, I've yet to run across any of these radicals. Not one public incident. No fake coughers, no hand wavers, no public spokespersons on the evils of vaping...not even a Cereal ISLE Cloud chucker. Not even one rude restaurant vaper. I feel left out.

this just makes me mad, it is hard to support and have faith in an industry that thinks so little of their customers.
In a growing industry, sometimes a manufacturer/marketer tries to do something to make their product "pop" to get ahead of the pack. Everyone wants their share of the pie.
Sometimes they make bad or controversial decisions.
I wouldn't paint the entire industry with the same brush, we do have good guys out there, but bad news gets headlines.
