I am curious what makes a prefilled cart so much better than a refilled cart other then the fact that its not a fresh blank cart your filling. I know they are hand filled in the factory.... so what method does the factory use to hand fill these blank carts that make them so good?

Is there any way we can get a video from the factory of the people hand filling a blank cart or a description of their method?

At first I had horrible success with refilling, but as I got more confident the refills got better and better. As someone suggested, I have even started topping off with 5 drops into the battery connection side which is super easy to do. It sucks right down! I thought that would clog the tube thingy, but it only does if you add too much fluid. If I am vaping heavily at night, after about an hour of vaping I will just add 5 drops and continue - That is working great for me, and prevents the cartos from getting burnt.

Jen,

How many times can you use this method before the cart needs cleaning or disposing.

I don't know yet. I have a carto here that I have been using for 3 days now and so far it is going strong using this method. If I notice it drawing harder or not putting out taste or vapor I will just rinse it out and refill it. I should stick with this method and see how it goes. Will let you know...

Thanks Jen,

I tell you what, V4L need to put you on their payroll, LOL!!! I think I see you in just about every post LOL.

Do you have to pull the cartomizer apart to rinse?

Thanks,
John

I've tried nearly every method and have had some success but still the majority do not compare to a brand new prefilled cart. Topping off and all that stuff aside because that can't be compared to a fresh prefilled cart that has never been topped. What is the secret?

I have been having trouble with this all morning, LOL. I just refilled a cart dripping onto the batting from the mouthpiece end using KC's method. I was hardly getting any vapour or throat hit. Put it on the pass through and it seems to work perfectly. I wonder if my battery is about to run out. I haven't received the blinking signal yet. I thought the battery would give the same power until the "blinking" charge signal. If my assumption is correct, is it ok to top of the charge on the batteries before they run out?

The problem is that a freshly filled cart takes a little while to dry out the heating element before it starts to work well again. Don't judge flavor or vapor from the first few drags on a refilled cart, give it about 10 good drags or so and it should start working right.

Thats still not it I've let refills sit for 48 hours+ and they do perform. I just don't think they perform quite as well as brand new carts. I don't need refill advice I'm just curious what the factorys fill method is. Or maybe the answer is simply that cartomizers do not perform as well on refills as they do with a blank fill. I've been anxiously awaiting for some blank carts to come in stock to buy to try out this theory.

The best method I have found for just topping off a carto long before it is needed is by dropping 3-5 drops in the battery end. For refilling, I have the best success by rinsing, blowing, filling and vaping right away. Pretty darn close to a fresh new carto, at least with the banana. Other flavors may vary.

I really think you just have to play with it until you find which method(s) work best for you. I have tried all that I have seen and these just work best for me. It would be fun to see a video on how they do them though! lol

I would keep 2 things in mind. 1) It is a disposable carto. Not saying it can't seem like new after a fill, but it isn't. I personally have never had a problem or burned a carto and I have topped off a lot, usually with 10-15 drops from the 20ml bottle. I anticipate the need for additional liquid.

2) Steve has said in the past that in order to get the exact same liquid, (which certainly could affect the results), you would need to use the 5ml bottles.

I'm certain with improvements and time, all this will and may already have changed and there will likely be a greater consistency over time.

Steve will get us all SMILIN one way or the other.

I understand this, disposable they are but would an at home fill of a blank never been filled cart be exactly the same as a factory prefill according to this theory the answer would be yes. Or do they use a different fill method unknown to us that makes fresh factory carts so good. It has been stated many times that they are hand filled one by one in the factory so it's either their fill method that makes them so good or simply filling a never before filled cart is the best way to go.

Imagine how much more cost effective the VK could be if you could buy blank carts for say $1 or less a piece and just V4L juice them yourself with prefilled straight from factory cart quality.

I find that my "hand filled" (dripped) carts are very close, and at times exactly the same as the factory, at least for a while. I'll give you my take, I drip several at a time and it's a few days at best before I use it. Keep in mind that the "factory" carts were NOT filled this morning, so, maybe waiting sometimes days has an effect.

I don't think the $1 carto is realistic everything considered. If you take away the packaging costs of the liquid, (bottle, label etc) and the package cost of the carts, the liquid is roughly .63 cents of the cost of the carto. By far the most expensive component of a filled carto has to be the carto itself. $2 would be reasonable, IMO

It's actually better to charge the batteries more often than waiting for them to begin blinking.

Your probably right, I just figured some poly fill a metal tube, 1 small piece of plastic, 1 small piece of rubber and a little wire wouldn't cost $2 each but when you look at it that way in comparison to the juice price w/ prefill cart price. I figured majority the price of a prefill cart was compensated by the convenience.
