I made my stepdowns about 2 months apart and I did slow step downs. I would be vaping more for a couple of weeks and them I didn't seem bothered.

I had the same experience.

I still do 3-4 percent Nic because of the benefits.

Be careful with percentages Frenchfry1942. 3% = 30 mg/ml which is more than I think you meant :)

"3% nicotine" implies 3 percent of solution is pure nicotine. That would be 3ml.X 1000 mg./ml. which is 3000 mg/100ml.=30mg./ml.
You are probably thinking of 100mg/ml. nicotine strength, which is already diluted to a 10% solution.
Much safer and less confusing to specify in mg/ml. Make sense?

I lowered my nic by mistake (I was adding more and more 12 mg WTA to get through a motherly visit, LOL) then my stress went all haywire, and well, I wound up smoking some. I have actually INCREASED the nic in some of my setups to over 18 and I use them if I'm having trouble.

I don't feel like a failure either, I would feel like a failure if I continued smoking so seriously, I wouldn't worry TOO much, and similarly, if I lower my nic it will be increments and ALSO, it will be planned during a low stress time.

My brain is just very, very intolerant of change, but as a 3 ppd smoker, I think vaping 18 mg/ml in my setups (and a few with more) well, I think vaping that way is going to kill me (if at all) far more slowly than if I returned to smoking.

I'd also say maybe your reduction was too large and/or also possibly, perhaps you want to reduce in SOME setups next time, not all of them. IMHO that is making things easier for ME, I can use my high nic setups first thing in the morning, or during periods of high stress and etc.
