I think the OP has been scared away lol

I hear you. Either that or he/she is kicking back laughing at us trying convince each other as to what is best.

Taste Great or Less Filling?

Only if you take it from here... I don't think I will convince him, so I wasn't going to try.
:)

LOL... I think we all are correct to some degree. Now what the percentage of the agreement is? Well, were kinda back where we started.

I think a lot of us struggled with going back and forth for awhile... for me the key is a good combination of a consistent device and a juice that you love. For me, as a newbie, the normal nic juice was disgusting and strong... I had to find out on my own through trial and error that the low nic juice was much smoother and there's so much difference between vendor quality. I liked the Ego batteries with 510 and then I started using box mods and that's worked well for me personally. I get everything with a 510 connection, then I don't have to worry about compatibility and it's available from most suppliers. Try different e juice companies, that's key for me - because a lot of juice doesn't suit me and it won't help with the cravings. Mrs. T maybe? Good luck!

So where's the OP?

LOL! I'm here... just been enjoying reading all the responses. I'm a little confused as to what percentage the VG v.s. PG actually has on TH (who wouldn't be reading this thread???). I am currently looking into getting some stuff from Great Lakes. A 5 volt GLV, AWCR123A battery and trustfire charger - still not sure if I'll go w/ an atty or not...

Can I start a whole new discussion/argument about that?!?!

5 volt GLV2 is a great choice. Many of us really like the new 801 atomizers at 5 volts. Ikenvape has mini-801's which are very nice and then the BE112 low bridge 801 from nhaler.com and BestEcig. You can order the GLV with an 801 connector or get the 510 connector and use an adapter ($4).

Are you sure it's a stronger throat hit you're craving?

Nicotine isn't the only substance in cigarette smoke, but it's the only one in nicotine juice - maybe you're craving the stronger hit of cigarette smoke that comes from all the other toxic chemicals you're not getting from vaping... especially if you tried to switch over completely. I went through some cravings and a weak withdrawal when I cut over to vaping and stopped smoking analogs, and I thought I wanted a stronger throat hit too, but it was really my body wanting that heavy buzz from all the other crap in cigarette smoke - increasing my throat hit with LR attys didn't help... it just took time for my body to adjust. Now that my throat and lungs have been smoke-free for several months and are all sensitive again, I don't even like a strong throat hit and try to mellow it out as much as possible, without decreasing my nicotine intake.

Something that might be worth considering, at least - if you switch to vaping and cut out analogs completely, you'll go through some withdrawal regardless of how much throat hit you get.

yes i did go thro with all that...but glad its much more easier to weaned away from analog using e-cig..hope lau517 dont give up on e-cig and find his "sweet spot",might take a while like i did and others...regards mafig

My personal opinion is that if the Joye 510 didn't do it for you, you need to do one of two things...
1) Get some low resistance atomizers or cartomizers and a bigger battery that can handle them
2) Get something that will take you into larger mods and higher voltages

If you're willing to spend anything, then take a look at one of these...
--MonkeyBoxx
--ProVari
--Darwin

If you want to stay remotely cigarette-sized then get a Riva SE (Special Edition) and some 2.0ohm atomizers or cartomizers.

I personally endorse the Provari.

It's great for beginners because of all the built-in safety features, and the ability to adjust the voltage by .1 increments until you find your sweet spot. For size comparison, I'd say it's like a battery-operated toothbrush. Plus, you can check the resistance of your atomizer, check your remaining battery, and you don't have to stack batteries to achieve 6 volts.

I went ahead and took the plunge last night after my last post and bought everything I'll need to get started (the aforementioned products). I really just want to QUIT the analogs... I'm sick of smelling gross, coughing and feeling guilty. I have two young children (the only time I've successfully quit smoking was during pregnancy and nursing) and I want to be healthier and see them go to college, get married, etc...

But anyway - I couldn't be happier so far with my choice. Sarah and Jay at Great Lakes are awesome. Their customer service is excellent in a time when so few companies have any customer service at all. I got a call back immediately and my questions were answered... they took the time to HELP me. I'm so grateful.

Now the waiting starts. I can't wait til my package arrives. I'm excited to try this again and hopefully be successful this time.

I also appreciate all of you who responded to this and I love this website. So many helpful, cool people. I'm looking forward to letting you all know what I think, how I do and vaping it up along with you! :)

P.S. I went with the 30vg/70pg. Just so you know.

i was in your situation before when i first started out with ny kr808

i switched to a true 3.7v device with LR 1.5 ohm atomizers and its kept me off analogs since. I would go with a bigger size 3.7v mod like the 18650 rather than the 14500s (the size battery for the smallest 3.7 mods) because they just dont last long. it took me a while to realize that the 14500s just dont peform the same a couple hours when compared to right off the charger.

so imo a big 3.7v battery for a consistent high powered vapr with a 1.5 ohm atty.

and juice is definitely a huge huge part of this. experiment different nicotine levels..higher the nic the more the throat hit. for me personally..i dont care about throat hit...which is usually higher in pg juice. i found juices that are higher in vg which create thicker smoke and more vapor "feel" more.like an analog to me

as far as devices...so many. http://www.ecigarette-mods.com/type sort by what style you want and pick a battery. 14500 is smallest to the 18650 which is biggest.

off the top of my head..reo, provari, darwin, prodigy, silver bullet, omega, glv, buzz are all mods i read about on a daily basis

I think this is a great thread. Tons of good information.

I have a couple questions-

1. Would there be a way to get a 5v pass-through to try it out? Even if you could plug it into a wall outlet?

2. I'd love to get a reo or similiar mod but I'm not crazy about dripping or the way vaping tastes when you drip. That probably makes me crazy. It just tastes hot and metallic to me. Would I even like a Reo?

what makes the reo so great is that its so versatile. you can use atomizers to bottom feed the juice, use cartomizers while pushing the bottle and feeding will keep the cartomizer wet...and you can even drip.

Not liking the taste when dripping may just be "your taste" which is why we are all different, or it could be the characteristics of the atty you are using. The 510 is "plentiful" and easy to get but there are characteristics to other attys you may prefer. You might want to consider getting an adapter and trying one of Ikenvapes mini-801 attys or the BE112 (low-bridge 801) from puresmoker, etc. I much prefer them at 4.5-5 volts, but you may really like the difference regardless of what battery level you use.

I'm going to say it One Last Time.

Before the OP goes out and plunks down money on a Higher Voltage device, I think he/she should try Higher PG e-Liquids.

Thanks for the info!

I just found this thread in the general section, what do you think of this?

SF...

Have you seen this?

Not quite 5v but the price is right and you get a Free case.

It looks like your generic 5 volt PT. And I'm sure you know to get true 5 volts, you will need to use a 5 volt/2 amp USB to AC wall adapter. The only problem with these PT, they are very cheaply made and break easily. The wires where they connect at the two ends especially. I've never had one last more than a couple of weeks. I would definitely wrap black electrical tape around where the wire joins the two connectors to try and make them last longer.

Well... I did both. I'm not rich but the money I spent is well worth it if it works for me. The Joye 510 just felt so WEAK. Maybe the combo of a better device, higher voltage & pg/nic level will finally be what I need. I had to do something... there are so many products, styles, strengths, etc, I found it to be overwhelming. I picked something that seemed to be pretty popular and just went with it. All I've been doing for the past 2-3 months is looking and searching but DOING nothing. Yesterday I said "Screw it - it's time to take action". If it's not right for me than I guess I'll have spent some money for nothing but at least I can say I gave it another try. AND... even if it doesn't work for me in 3 months, I've still have saved some money that I would have spent on analogs compared to what I spent trying to quit...

And I still say thanks to you zoiDman. Any input is great!
