Yeah yeah... i know... you get what you pay for... you should always go with a verified supplier etc... I'm steaming mad at myself for falling for this. We started using a new supplier recently who was slightly cheaper than the other wholesalers we were using. Everything was going swimmingly, product was coming in, it was all authentic at a great price, and then I asked about 650/350 batteries. They immediately told me they have them and sell them. Given the good start I had with them, I negotiated a good price, got an RFP, paid the bill and got the merch... this is what I got....

O yea.. I was super mad.. I almost had myself convinced that maybe AW started selling flat tops. That ended really quickly as I tested them under load. So now I'm staring at 100 fake AW batteries and wondering if I'm going to have any recourse with the company. I contacted one of their reps but we shall see...

Anyway... thanks for letting me vent and the moral of the story is BUY FROM THE MFGR/Auth Resellers when it comes to batteries... I always had, and learned my lesson when I tried otherwise.

U.K.
You absolutely have a recourse and can and should insist on return and refund, generally, if the description said AW batteries and you made a purchase, based on your honest belief you are purchasing authentic batteries, you receiving fake batteries is breach of the agreement by the supplier. If it can be shown that any average consumer would perceive the description of the item for sale as a legitimate product you the have all the rights to a refund. I suggest you collect all the evidence of purchase, negotiations and any evidence possible (their advertisements on a website) their catalogue and do find out if there was any fine print.

Essentially write an e-mail explaining the predicament and request a refund, if it is met with negativity, look through your phonebook for a lawyer friend or a friend with a lawyer, and ask them for a small intervention, it's a straightforward transaction to deal with. Just mKe sure to pick one who won't rip you off since it is a piss easy situation, unless there were clear waivers as to authenticity.

Anyhow, best of luck with it, I hope it works out just through an e-mail exchange.

My sympathies to the OP for being ripped off but....

<rant>
A top quality IMR high-drain hybrid battery from a known verified supplier costs less than a couple packs of smokes, or a PT2. With proper maintenance, rotation and a good quality charger they will last for years. Can't remember a couple packs of smokes lasting me for years...:) Mod batteries should be the least of a vaper's costs.
<end rant>

Getting a battery from a well known verified supplier is cheap at twice the price, in the long run. Trying to save a buck on a battery is not always the best route to take, something for a beginner to watch out for.

what did the load tests show? Just curious.

But yes, the flat top is a dead giveaway. You would think someone knocking them off would go through at least the trouble to make them button tops.

Maybe another guy is doing button top knockoffs and customer is none the wiser.
Unless customer does a voltage drop test.
