So many choices, it can become so confusing. I have decided to go with the 510 to start with. I am a Menthol smoker at the moment. So I ordered some 11 mg Menthol, along with Wintergreen and Spearmint in a 24 mg, Thought I could mix them to find a level that seemed to work for me. There are so many choices in flavors that it is overwhelming. This forum has been so helpful and informative. I have barely scratched the surface of what is here and have learned a great deal already. Seems very few questions are not addressed in some way on here.

Hi all,
Three wk noob here making first post. I started with a blu and was not at all impressed with it. After lurking in the forums for a few day's i realized i was to heavy a smoker for the blu ...3 pack a day...promptly went to the 510 and I'm doing a lot better with it down to one half to a pack a day now. I will be analog free eventually lol. My best advice to anybody wanting to switch to vaping is to do a lot of research and so far this is the most informative forum i have found.

I found this forum like most folks curious about info on e cigs. Also, like many, I started with Blu July 1, 2010 and after 45 yrs of smoking, sometimes 2-3 packs a day, have not had a single analog since. Also, like many, I've had some dissatisfaction with blu, batteries blinking like crazy, heating up, not holding a charge, blinking to the music at clubs, puffing like crazy to get vapor, etc. I have been treated quite well by their customer service, however, and am still receiving warranty replacements on batteries (heh heh) and PCCs. So, I came here to get info for the likely replacement update. 510s seem to be the top choice around here and today found a thread on the Riva 510 although it sounds like they are currently out of stock. Just my luck, huh? I do have a comment about this forum, however, and that is that I am having a bit of a learning curve adapting to this format. I keep thinking I'm in the New Members Forum and reading along and want to respond and get a notification that I cannot post and then see that I am not in the right forum. I suggest you make a clearer separation as this forum is under a bar separation that also contains non new member links. I have been a delphi forums member for 8 yrs and they also notify you, if you choose, via email when you get a response to a post. Is that possible on this forum? I posted a question a month ago and am not going to stroll back through God knows how many posts and don't recall which date to find it.
But, back to my quest . . . . would the Riva 510 or perhaps 910? solve my short-lived, crazy blu battery and puff like crazy to get vape problem? Also, do they have a battery case? thanks.

Welcome leatherman. The forum is a little confusing at first but you''ll get the hang of it. Considering how much information is here and how many topics are available, it can be overwhelming.

Based on your comments, a Riva or eGo style PV will indeed give you a better vaping experience. Riva kits typically come with larger capacity batteries than the eGO but both are popular and either would suit you needs.

Most vendors' pricing is typically competitive unfortunately, if you they don't have them in stock, even "free" is no good.

Ecigma currently has a sale on their Revo (branded Riva) and Rogue (branded smart PCC) 510 kits and both are in stock and on sale with free standard USPS shipping.

For full ethical disclosure and transparency, I've recently become acquainted with Ecigma's owner (he's a local Michigan brick & mortar retailer) and am in the process of "trying out" free samples of both of these products. I've only had them a few days and I'll be posting a full review after I've put some more mileage on them but my initial impression is that both are solid performers and at least equal to the better known brands when it comes to performance, durability, and style.

As for cases for the Riva/eGo-style PVs, I'm very pleased with this $5.95 Case Logic PSP case.

Hope this helps, and again, welcome to the ECF community.

Happy vaping! :vapor:

I don't like the ego nearly as much as my 510 and they're supposed to be the same thing just with a bigger battery, right?

510 is the atomizer, not battery. When using an eGo you're using a specific 3.7v model rechargeable battery made by Joye. You can use 510 atomizers on various devices to get different results. For example, you can use a 3.7v eGo battery with a low-resistance 510 atomizer and it creates a 5v vaping experience without the need for a higher voltage battery mod. You could try using the LR atties and dripping method with your eGo battery and see if it produces a more satisfying vape.
