My nic level dropped with my gear upgrades too. 2+PAD for 26 years. Started at 24 and had the DT's even at that level till I got a nautilus. Over a couple of months I dropped to 20, then 16. When I moved up to RBA's I dropped to 12. My first puff off of an rda at 12 was one helluva rush! Lol! So I dropped to 3 and got used to it, even in my Kayfuns. I'm mixing my own at 3.6 now and it works for me. Still get a lil rush if I chain-drip, but I kinda like it once in a while tbh. :D I used to have other bad habits too, so a lil rush now & then helps keep me on the straight & narrow in that respect as well. vaping saved my life in more ways than one. :thumb:

I've been vaping just over 3 months. I used to smoke mild cigarettes so I started out at 12mg. Very soon I was down to 6mg and now I generally vape at 3mg. When I sometimes make a juice for someone else at a higher percentage and have a taste of it, it almost immediately gives me the hiccups! I guess 3 to 4 mg is the most I am comfortable with now. That said, I do chain vape so there is that to consider too.

I agree with AT. Consumption is relative to the amount of juice consumed. Just like doing a shot of vodka or drinking 1 beer. 1oz vs 12oz of liquid but the same alcohol.

I started at 18mg but dropped to 12mg within a month or 2. Now 2 years later I vape 8mg most of the time and have for the last 6 months. But I only vape 2mls a day and don't use high power or low ohm builds. In the grand scheme, I'm a very light nicotine consumer even though I vape 2-3 times the strength as many with powerful and efficient gear.

There are a lot of variables that have to be considered when figuring out nic consumption beyond the strength of the bottle itself.

Listening to your body does all the work for you. It's easy to tell too much or 2 little. Keeping in the sweet spot is pretty easy.

I think this thread is a bit misleading. While everybody says about mg/ml, nobody mentioned how daily juice consumption was changed. For example, going from 24 mg and 3 ml/day to 6 mg and 12 ml/day does not change nicotine consumption. No gain.

Well in my case, I dropped the nic 1mg, and the power level 1.5w, and I'm pretty sure my consumption has also dropped significantly, thanks to the Achilles -- it's a juice miser on the order of a cartotank, with its tight draw.

I was using about 6-8ml/day with my Kayfuns; now I estimate that I'm using less than 5ml a day.

I didn't quit all at once. Been slowly gettin my ish together last few years. Turning 40 will make you re-evaluate your own mortality. Lol! I'll never give up my beer though. I'm with Ben Franklin on that for sure. And Shiner Bock is the sweet, sweet nectar of the gods. :thumb:

Never say never -- your liver may have other plans. :D

Wow! What is this thing? Do you have a link? (do not think I can go to 1.5 W on any of my mods)

No, I reduced the power 1.5w, from 10w to 8.5w, and it provides the same quality of hit, with even a bit more flavor than a Kayfun, it's so saturated due to the low airflow.

It's the Achilles RDA -- fantastic tootle puffer!

Thanks but... I hoped to find some cure for my chain vaping (have to force myself to stop all the time), but RDA is not for me, demands too much attention.

The Achilles holds 2.5ml... same as a T3S. I check it frequently, just because my mind knows it's an RDA... but very seldom needs topping up; maybe about every third time I check it.

Another benefit is that it seems impossible to make it leak, if you don't put more than 2.5ml in it.

Yep, I'm decreasing my nicotine as well. gone from 18mg to 6mg with the goal of 0mg by the end of the year. So far the decrease has been painless, but I do have a tenancy to chain vape. The Achilles sounds great but I've yet to try a RDA that I've liked. For me Tootle Puffing and RDA's is not a marriage made in heaven

The Achilles is a tootle puffers DREAM COME TRUE! You have to turn down the wattage, because the draw is so tight, so that means less vapor -- more tootling! :D The lower airflow also seems to decrease the amount of vapor (while increasing the saturation of the flavor!) -- cloud chasers would HATE the Achilles! :D

Yes, the space under the build deck is hollow, and holds about a ml -- it's unique in that that space is actually divided, not connected below the deck.

After you get it built and wicked, and you put the tank segment on, you can then add more liquid, up to the just below the top of that built-up airhole -- 2.5ml. Because it is sealed with both threads and o-rings, it doesn't leak -- even lying on its side overnight, no leaks at all. I'm not sure it's possible to MAKE this thing leak, unless you just turn it upside down -- and even then, not much would leak, because there's a short chimney attached to the top cap --

So, you might be able to get a few drops out of it, if you turned it upside down, but not much. And just ordinary use, laying it on its side, no leaks at all.

That's kinda cool. :thumb:

As much as I love my Kayfuns... my 2 Achilles have moved into ADV position, and I'll probably get a 3rd one pretty soon. Another great thing is that even the clone is all-titanium -- for $25! -- so it's very lightweight -- an Achilles on a Coolfire IV weighs about the same as an iStick30 with a Kayfun.

I'll still be using my Kayfuns when I'm away from the house for most of the day, it's hard to beat that 4.5ml tank, but for the regular, around-the-house (where I am about 98% of the time) vaping, it's been nothing but Achilles for about a week now.

My all day tootle puffer is a KF Nano. About the same juice capacity as an Orchid V3, so about the same there. I fill it about 3 - 5 times a day, depending on how my day goes, and supplement my need for nic and clouds with a few puffs off one of my drippers a few times an hour. I might hafta look in to it. My Nano (like all KF's I've ever had) seems to leak a little around the AFC screw on the bottom. Does it have that problem?
