Smarm fest - leading up to the bit where we get to choose the lesser evil

after being spoon fed the massaged facts and figures spun by mealy mouthed toadies

who have never worked a day in their lives yet are rich beyond most folks wildest dreams

The current crop in the Palace of Westminster must be the worst in the memory of man

in a permanent state of brain fart

It will take me a long time to forget that in the same week that my stitches came out

after cancer surgery I received a letter inviting me to an appointment with ATOL ( or whatever they're called )

and that after being in unbroken employment for the whole of my adult life

If you mean the Arbitration service it is ACAS, but apart from that you are exactly on cue there with your comments, I was forced into early retirement, although I was getting fed up with all the crap they were handing out anyway, but they wouldn't give me permanent earlies so that I could still work and be a carer for the missus, managed to get it temporary for six months, but when that was up it was either take early retirement or go back to normal shift work, which wouldn't have been acceptable to the social worker/home help that was in place, so I retired, was lucky that although I had only done 28 years on the railway I actually had 40 years in the pension fund (the maximum) due to earlier seniority and pension transfer down to redundancy halfway through, so I got a fairly good pension and lump sum.

I've not tried hypnosis myself, always wondered if it was more of a placebo effect for some people. They expect it to work, so in a lot of cases it does work.

I tried it many years ago, there were 3 of us all trying to give up ciggies, 1 chap lit up straight away when we came out, 1 chap gave up completely, I managed to last a week, kept waking up every hour in the night craving, was a nervous wreck by the end of the week, had one ciggie before I went to bed, slept like a log - so that was the end of that try

Thanks :) - I'd never thought about it Terry - not even sure what snuff is exactly apart from it's sniffed up the nose and makes people sneeze!
I have thought about the SNUS stuff. there seems to be a few different variations of it so not too sure which
Ideally, I want something that incorporates all of what is in tobacco without having to smoke it

A few things to look into - and I didn't get around to trying those new supplements I got yet. I'll need to sort them into one of those 7 day tablet organisers so will perhaps get to that tomorrow! :)

Isn't SNUS banned except in Sweden where they got a disposition due to it's widespread use there

It would seem so, yet I can buy it direct from Sweden and shipped here (and from the US) - but I won't be doing so.

I'll try snuff! I see a few small traditional English makers of it: Abraxas, Wilsons, and Sir Walter Scott's. I may try a few small tins.

I should do an hour or so work on those accounts that I keep neglecting ...got little heaps of papers all over my desks, but am going to go to bed and at least perhaps get 7 hours for the first time in weeks! :)

Has anyone tried doing a parallel coil yet ?

Yep, parallel coils are great I think. I've tried dual parallels with several guages of wire and in an rda I found 28ga or lower was good, it's really fiddly making a parallel coil with thinner wire. It's got the nice simplicity of a single coil I like but with the ohms of a dual coil, and cos the two coils are essentially side by side they heat up quicker.

Give it a go, although I never tried one in a tank, just RDAs.

I even tried a triple parallel 28ga build in an RDA but that was really fiddly and not really worth the effort.

Now don`t laugh Trish, but have you ever considered using snuff ? I used to use it when i worked in the chemical process industry ( No smoking on site ) And it really did take the cig cravings away, plus you will be getting the nicotine what your brain seems to be missing. It`s just a thought and nowt else :)

I've tried snuff, it was just out of curiosity several years ago and I didn't find it took any kind of nic craving away. Also it was just a bit of a weird sensation for me, and doing it in public drew some strange looks like you'd just be casually doing some coke at the bus stop or whatever.

I wouldn't go there Trish, that stuff is just plain nasty.
Don't think it will do your chest any good in the least.Inhaling a fine powder into your lungs isn't the greatest thing to do.
I tried it years ago out of curiosity, and blew my nose shortly after yuk! and to think that would be lay in your lungs.

Much as Adam said.

I can't ever recall seeing anyone using snuff, so can well understand it drawing odd looks in public!
I don't have any nicotine cravings really, but my brain is obviously missing something from tobacco. I'll give anything sensible a try - I have no doubt it'll make me sneeze and my eyes water, but if I choose a good strong one and try using it every few hours, I'll soon know if it helps.

One thing I have read is that it isn't meant to get past the nostril area of the nose - not as far as the sinuses either ..any further and it will cause problems. It's more a case of smelling it rather than snorting it, and a more moist, coarser variety is likely better than a particularly finely ground one - or so I understand  Something else with 'stuff' to understand!

I see there's a snuff users forum SnusOn Snus Forum & Community so I'll read a bit there alter.

Don't see how you can possibly stop it from getting to your lungs Trish.
It's like breathing in and trying to stop the air going any further than your nostrils.

One of our past kings was so disgusted with snuff he banned the use of it at court, can't remember which one.

Only my two cents but i think that stuff won't be the solution for you.

Don't know enough about it to comment on that - just know that I have to get my brain back to full concentration and focus.
Terry used to use it, to I'll see what he says about it's use.

VapeMail: my Zero has arrived and it is small, have put it next to my IPV and although it is slightly fatter due to the display being square it is shorter and not as deep, in fact it is almost the same size as the VS rDNA40:

Nice Bob,noticed today they are doing additional covers for the Zero at F.T

How does the threading on the 510 look?Is it a pukka job or just the case threaded.

The additional covers are for the standard model, the one I got was the slightly taller one with the Gravity Sensor.

It is a real connector, but they do say in the blurb that came with it not to tighten the atty on too tight.

Just been in touch with RM and hey what's the use of a tracking number if they can't do anything about it - was told I'll have to tell the sender, so have lodged a ticket with FT

My thoughts exactly Bob.
Funny how you can track something from across the world but as soon as it lands here, Royalfail can never recognise the tracking number.P's me right off.

Trish if i didn't care,i wouldn't have said anything.
Oh I know that :) No worries, just exploring possibilities and mulling it over.
I can get a tiny tin of it for very little (Wilsons of Sharrow Mill), so perhaps I may give it a try just to see what it's like and if it has any effect.

I think once I can get things on a normal course again, I'll be OK.

That's exactly what they said about that order from Indigo that arrived in New Zealand on Dec 10th! Yet Indigo told me to contact the postal companies!

But, I got mail today when I wasn't expecting it:
Indigo tracking.jpg

That's the missing order from Indigo! ...at least it'll be well steeped

and they wonder why retailers are not using them and are turning to courier services, the only thing that is really traceable via RM is their next day services (before 9am and before midday)
