Just rebuilt the second of my Lemos.Fresh out the box.
28g kanthal,6 wraps on 3mm.(thought i'd go with Bobs suggestion and try the bigger coil diameter)
... cotton.
Well i'm blown away.
Tried at 15w,12mg Cosmic Fog...Milk and Honey WOW!!!!!
The flavour and vapour where beyond belief(AFC is only half open). The juice is a favorite anyway but i've never tasted it like this before.
Seriously impressed.

Glad my suggestions impressed you :)

Quick question for you FT vets. I have an order set up and one of the items says 'ships in 5 business days' I'm assuming this means it is back stocked and won't ship until it is back in stock? Does that mean the rest of my order will be waiting until the one item is ready to ship? Or will they send 2 packages? Just confused, thanks!

Also, anybody have experience with FT clone RDAs? Thinking about a Mutation X V2 style...

Sorry if any of this has been asked before, I tried searching but there's so much on this forum

Anything in the same order will normally wait until everything is ready then they will be shipped, if there is a delay in 1 item or it goes to restocking, then they sometimes will let you know that they will be splitting the parcel into 2 shipments.

Most of the clone RDAs are fairly good, but always check the reviews and comments first, especially if there is more than 1 version.

So, my first parallel build.

This one's for you Terry

First try, snapped the legs on one side, so back to the beginning.

Pros.

1). It's like the "oh my God" moment the first time I tried cotton - the flavour is immense, better than any dripper I've tried so far.

2). Plenty of vapour.

3). Should last a lot longer than a standard micro coil.

4). Tons of throat hit.

5). Needs much lower wattage than a standard build, so better battery life.

6). Great nic hit, so could be an advantage for those lower nic juices you keep wanting to use.

Cons

1). You need a lot more wire and end up wasting a fair bit. Because it's a pain to get the coil legs through the post holes.

2). You need to just nip up the post screws, any more and the legs will snap.

3). Very fiddly to do. It's awkward trying to keep the 2 wires together wrapping the coil, they tend to crimp together and overlap.

4). Takes up a lot of space, in a small build area.

5). Takes a long time to heat up, so on a regular tube mod, might be a pain, better on a regulated device.

6). I can almost see the juice going down in the Lemo, so it's going to be a thirsty build this one.

---------------------------

I am impressed with it though, for the extra flavour and throat hit. It's not any warmer than a dual coil on the Orchid. Used 29g kanthal on a 3mm drill bit around 10.5 wraps. Coming in at 1.3 ohms on the iStick. To make life easier, take a long piece of kanthal, double it over. Hold the two ends in a pair of pliers and pop a screwdriver into the middle section, then torch it well. Helps to keep the doubled over wire closer together and it makes it easier to wrap the coil.

-------------------------

I'll let you all know, how well it lasts, but so far so good :D

Just ventured over to AAEC,not been on there before.
There's a guy making these, thought they looked tidy.

Mmmmm very nice George. I like the way the top seems to bevel out where the button is. Plus the wood looks spot on. Bet it's a finger print magnet though

Those can be changed a lot using lower nic, 6mg @ 20w here

1) Yes quite possible
3) When you get your coiler it might be easier, I used my wooden Easycoil with no problems, no torching - squeezed them up gently once on the KFL+
4 and 5) this could be down to your build, I just did a 6/5 of 28g to get 0.92 ohm, of course that wouldn't work on your iStick

I'll be honest, I quite like the throat hit and nic fix Bob. Sometimes, it's good to have a change from a totally smooth vape - you know me, I like a bit of variety

The next build I do will be easier and I'll probably experiment with different wire and number of wraps etc.

Just ordered a 3-pack of Kuro Koiler and a spare one in 2mm. (2066300)

Might make it by February. :(

The way things are going, those coilers will be sold out pretty quickly.

I've chosen China post for this order, so it might get here a little quicker than normal :)

So is it worth all the extra effort Ian ? Looking at your pros and cons, it may be easier just to do a single sub ohm build
