Crikey - this all sounds very complicated. Hangsen Apple is my adv - I try other liquids occasionally. Some of them are nice. I suppose the difference is that all I've ever been after is a handy replacement for tobacco. I have always known that nothing I vape will taste like an Upmann Havannah. Perhaps I lack imagination - but I stopped chasing flavours a while back. I get those from food, drink etc.. The fact that everyone is still chasing the dream of an ideal flavour worries me a bit personally. This kind of chase costs a bundle - and can it ever be really achieved?

Just a thought. :)

Personally pipe, i couldn`t be doing with just one or two flavours throughout the day ! When i get my fourth subtank - hopefully Tomorrow, i will have nine different flavours on the go :)

If you think that`s a lot, you should have a chat with Bob or Ian ! I think DIY- ing is a really inexpensive way of trying a lot of the different juices out there, If that is your bag. :)

I fully understand your point of view Pipe. My thoughts are pretty much the same, we are replacing 1 thing with another not another dozen things. We only ever really smoked 1 brand so why not vape 1 flavour. But saying that while I'm not working I'm using this as a full time hobby. Trying new juices till I find what I like is part of the hobby, so is trying new mods, building my coil station and eventually building a few mods. If I was working full time I wouldn't into this as much as I am. Or least I hope not.

Yeah, i can understand what pipe and dave are saying regarding just one juice, but surely you would only need one mod and tank that way. Yet some people have a lot more than that

At the end of the day, we all have our own way to keep off the cigs, and i am content doing things my way.

Well you get to choose one with the kit, so i went for Lews brew. I found the ready made one Quite nice. Gotta start somewhere right ? :)
I'm thinking you'll be able to add cream to that too if you want to :)
I added some custard to the bit of Crucible left in my tank and it's tasting better.

I reckon that if I hadn't developed an extreme reaction to the PG in the cartridges, I'd have stayed with the small cig-size batteries/cartridges, and may have stopped altogether eventually. I gave up smoking by using them, so there was no reason for me to start using anything more sophisticated - except they don't make anything decent in VG cartridges here. In fact, there were none at all last spring when I had to change to max VG.
Having had my first cigarette at around 15/16, I'd smoked for a long time. To me, seeing I moved on to more complex things, it's reasonable to keep trying different ones if they keep me from cigarettes. Plus, I'm using an average of 0.4mg which must be a lot less than cigarettes.

I have at least 3 every day favourites of Chefs in constant use/to hand, plus at the moment, Dragonscape, Strawberry, a red berry menthol mix & a Pear & Almond one, plus a custard with 20% Virus in it.
I just reach for whichever one I fancy at the time.

Definitely - cigarettes and a lighter were far less fuss, and I had a plain and a menthol to hand, nothing else. No equipment to tend to, batteries to charge, liquids to chase after ....but the cigarettes in themselves kept us hooked and they didn't need to try and keep us. The fact that this way is more complex can be a blessing or a pain - it can get in the way of other things, and it does. But, I'm still happy that I don't smoke anymore. The rest I'm trying to deal with and get my focus back on my work.
For me, I'm gradually finding that apart from the odd few really good ones, Chefs seem to fit my needs very well, so things may settle down a bit soon, but never altogether I think :)

I think the Black n Blue would suit me better than red astaire, though diluting to 10% has made the juice more palatable, there's still a background taste (probably the sweet eucalyptus) that I could do without
Is the Toonz a cherry menthol or is it a bit more complex ?

Toonz is more complicated than a cherry menthol. It's pretty aniseedy and I don't get a distinct cherry taste. I'd say it was more "blackcurrant tunes". It's more aniseed than red astaire so if you're looking for a straight up fruit menthol maybe try something else.

Black and blue is closer to Toonz than red astaire I think, and still quite aniseedy. I like all three but red astaire is still the winner I think.

I can't say I've seen them particularly included in other ranges ...Devon Cream for instance, and Marshmallow Vanilla (very interesting smell). Even the English Trifle ....I wouldn't be surprised if they're made up by Chefs. At 10-20% they're not exactly the same as other ranges as far as I recall without specifically looking.
The Rebranded seems to be from other ranges, but not sure what.

I got the Jam Roly Poly - haven't made any yet though.

I e-mailed them but they haven't replied and they're usually prompt so I guess they don't want to tell me. Maybe they are pretty simple mixes of other brands, but nothing spectacular enough to make it to the 'proper' juice line, hence the low price? Dunno, might try 1 or 2 and see what they're like.

Yup! I have the lews brew concentrate, don't vape it a lot but it's good every now and again.

I think you're spot on, as ex smokers I reckon what we're missing is the taste of the smoke, not the leaf, and up to present I dont know of anyone making that flavour. Personally I treat vaping partly as a hobby and as such I've started to mix some of my own juices but I have 7 juices that I will pick up and put down during the day

Blackcurrant/aniseed sounds spot on to me or a decent blackjacks type flavour, I'll persist with the RA till it's gone but I wont buy it again
Do you have a link for the Toonz vendor please ?

Yeah that's where I got the concentrate and they also have pre-mixed.

What do you think of it Marcus?

I've seen other places with blackjacks flavours as well (concentrates, don't browse pre-mixed juice much these days).

Better deals at Ecolux at the moment Dave,i go there for all my batteries, very reputable dealer.

Batteries with TABs Tagged, SAMSUNG items in ECOLUXSHOP store on eBay!

Don't forget torchy the battery boy as well!

Always read the descriptions carefully, ecolux are definitely a good vendor but torchy tests the batteries, shows if the capacity differs from stated, and offers his opinion as to the amp ratings which is super important for us vapers. I've seen him selling batteries that don't compare that favourably to others and he still puts his results on the listings which is really good of him I think.
