What do you reckon on the Listmans F.T have put up today Bob?
Well, W7 is the best I've ever had, so I suppose I'll just keep an open mind with it - I'll have to if there's no choiceI'm optimistic about Win 10. I have it set up to arrive by automatic update. Win 8.1 was so much better than Win 8 (imho) that I am confident that Win10 will try to hide the cross-platform stuff from folks who just want to use a desktop or laptop. 8.1 is also the most stable iteration of Windows that I have ever used.
I get the paid for version of the Newsletter, was reading it today, noticed that BitDefender (mine) actually performed quite well along with Kapersky and Avira, although the latter had more false positives.Don't know if you know of this site or get their newsletters, but this is the latest one - under the AV testing article, there's one about W10 updating:

Yes, that's Georgia.
She looks as though she could be a handfulShe's a little terror, but awfully sweet with it.

You just couldn't make it up...Oh my!![]()
and the last bit of that is what I am looking for - stability, just a shame that we have to lose the nice looking desktop that you can make with Win 7 and it's Aero themes and have a very plain looking surrounds to the Apps rather than something like this:I'm optimistic about Win 10. Yes, always reassuring to find that something you use does well in such tests. I've had Kaspersky KIS for years now - worth it for the excellent UK c/s. I have Avira on the notebook, so happy to see they both do well.I get the paid for version of the Newsletter, was reading it today, noticed that BitDefender (mine) actually performed quite well along with Kapersky and Avira, although the latter had more false positives.
She can be - but not to us ..it's Sophie she gives hassle to! Sometimes she darts her head out and takes a snap at her nose or ears if she thinks she's encroaching on her territory (Husbands knee!) - she gets told off, but takes little notice of things if she doesn't want to. Sophie doesn't even blink - totally chilled with her.She looks as though she could be a handful![]()
Nice to be a diligent member of the public, but that one is nuts! You just couldn't make it up...
Wow, now she is special Trish, what a cute little dog Georgia is ! It will be the first time i have tried the JW, and i hope she likes it as i got 3 different bags for herJW has been one of our dogs every day foods since being puppies. We give them the Lamb & Rice, and Sophie also gets a 50/50 mix with Royal Canin that's designed not to cause wind, and thus lessen the risk of bloat (fatal condition for deep chested dogs that can kill in minutes). We mix something tasty in with it too: either a 100g of some human grade pet food that we get from Zooplus in Germany, or an ounce of cooked minced beef. They get two meals a day - again, advised for deep chested dogs.
Sophie used to get scrambled egg for breakfast, and porridge for supper: semi skimmed milk with a drizzle of honey on it ..good for them! She'd only been here for two weeks before she started coming in here bang on 10pm and staring at me until I made her supper!
Sophie would/will eat anything - she loves a plate of salad!
I only give her a treat once a day: right after she'd been out for a walk - started when she was a large young hooligan who would bound into the kitchen and literally knock me over in enthusiastic greeting, so I started having a biscuit in my hand and making her sit down for it - worked a treat, and I still do it even though she's too gentle to knock me over now.
Georgia isn't motivated by food though, and can be a pain to feed. She does like those little Caramel crunchy biscuits for with coffee!
The little one is guaranteed to be sick if she gets a broad bean or a piece of pear. Sophie only ever if she's got a bit of grass stuck in her throat, and that's rare.

I remember the breeder saying she tried the litter with porridge, but they didn`t like it so i haven`t bothered, i may try her one day though. There's a lot with W7 that I really like. I have my Active Desktop Calendar programme with lots of reminders and details in it, I like the ability to search from the start button, it's intuitive, and has hardly ever given me any problems ...lots of things I liked as soon as I got it - and I don't really want to exchange it for something with a totally different appearance and way of doing things. I'm a 'if it aint broken, don't fix it' type of person. Now that does look ugly. I always wonder why Microsoft always believe that what they think is best for us is what we want. I'd like to manage files with a simple drop-down tree rather than having to navigate "Libraries". What everyone really wants is system search that searches everything, rather than having to find the secret "show all files". I'm a grown-up. If I delete a file that crashes the system then that's down to me. But I do want to know where it is.
She's no softie either - a real tough little nut. But, she's very sweet and cuddly too! Tiny compared to Sophie.Wow, now she is special Trish, what a cute little dog Georgia is !
Ours liked them all ..fish & rice, vegetables & lamb, but lamb & rice seems to be the favourite. Just sprinkle a little hot water on the biscuits to bring out the flavour. Change her over gradually through a few days rather than all at once by mixing them with what she's been having, increase the JW each time. The rice ones are gentler on the digestion for deep chested breeds. It will be the first time i have tried the JW, and i hope she likes it as i got 3 different bags for her![]()
I used ReadyBrek for Sophie and she loved it - don't think we've had one that didn't like porridge ..especially with a little drizzle of squeezy honey on it! Nice evening supper - oats are calming. She had supper until around 9 months old, but always just a small dish.I remember the breeder saying she tried the litter with porridge, but they didn`t like it so i haven`t bothered, i may try her one day though.
That's why ours get their food divided into two meals at lunch and tea times - lessens the chance of bloat, especially if they don't gulp water afterwards ..we give Sophie a very small dish of half milk, half water as soon as she finishes eating, and she doesn't look for the water bowl for a while afterwards that way. No tearing around exercise for half an hour before meals and an hour after to allow better digestion. Easy things to do, and fingers crossed, all will be well. When we first got Maya, i had her on 4 small meals a day, that is down to 3 now,and over the next month or so i will have her on 2, with her treats in between meals. And obviously increasing the size of the meals as she grows.
I have read some awful stuff about bloat, and take great care not to overfeed her, or any of my past dogs.

and also those at the Windows section of TBB.
What do you reckon on the Listmans F.T have put up today Bob?
If you look at the discussion thread that produced the list I pointed to, I think those were classed as very poor only good for <15w regulated mods
I just take a look when I want to know something - I used to read most of it, but it got too time consumingI get the daily emails from TBB for Windows Issues, my ISP which was Sky then BT now Plusnet, Technical Issues & Handheld and Mobile Computing, as you say also useful, mainly just skim through them, but sometimes see something that catches my eye.

That's terrible! Asking for criticism, let alone any misconceptions.Going back to that thread I linked to re Black Subox - look at what just popped into my email box:
Looks good, will be able to use the 150w upgrade with that instead of getting the silly tube addon for the Yihi.Another question Bob.
Have you seen the Dual SX?
Twin 18650,Yihi SX350J.They are making at Signature tips.
