What did you read that put you off it ?

Google Laser eye treatment Tel.

BOGOF titanium? ....that would be nice! Is the actual prescription good?

Specsavers offer BOGOF on their complete range. How much have you been quoted for a pair of Ti specs Trish and how do you mean is the prescription good?

I wouldn't have it done due to the fact there's a small percentage don't work out well or satisfactorily. With my track record of being 'Mrs 1%' (when they say never mind - sorry, 99% of the time, it's fine!)
I'll keep my specs ;)

It's as low as 75% success rate according to and the possibility of further laser treatment within 10 years.
The clinics don't mention the millions of ££££'s they've paid in compo.Maybe i chickened out,but you only get one set of peepers:D

I'm not watching it right now (Press Preview Sky News channel), but apparently there's at least three of tomorrows papers reporting on e-cigs to be given free on prescription. Telegraph is one, The I another, and perhaps the Guardian too ....sounds ominous!
I'll watch the next one at 11.30 to see if it's mentioned again.
Should be able to see the newspaper stories after midnight on the individual sites.

Good enough reasons for me not to even think about it!
I already had one really major '1%' happening and don't want to risk another.

My last pair was almost 2 years ago and with the super thin lens, £260. I'd already bought two pairs and found them too heavy for long hours of use, so the optician gave me some discount, so that pair cost £180.
I do have a pair of Air Titanium, but the lens are too big, and the flexi arms get tangled in my hair every time I take them off!
and how do you mean is the prescription good?
Somehow, whether the actual eye test was more accurate or the measurement for central focal points, we both noticed that our new specs were a lot better ..and we only needed a tiny alteration to our previous prescriptions.
This same optician looked after my eyes when I had a thyroid problem years ago, and had me call in each 4-6 weeks free of charge so he could check that all was still well.

Saw a quick mention of it on ITV News - I think it is some health organisation calling for it.

I think the service i received there was very good,i was in there over an hour and 15 mins and had several tests done.
While the place was very busy they did seem to care and wanted me to be happy with what was happening.
I can tell you more when i actually have the glasses on Sunday(they open 10-4)
I didn't choose super thin lenses,so the pair of Ti specs i choose was £170.Then i picked up a cheapo pair of readers.Only because i didn't see the need to spend a lot on the frames just for sitting at the computer, lens will be the same either way.
My eyes, honestly speaking were knackered:)i was getting bad headaches driving and really struggling in general.
I've worn readers for 8 years and got a good telling off today for not visiting an optician in that time.

So not a definite ...yet, by the sound of it. I'll watch the Press Preview at 11.30, and if it's not mentioned, will look for the articles on the newspaper sites after midnight.

I wouldn't have a problem with GP's prescribing a basic starter kit, but certainly don't want the pharmaceutical companies getting control of it all via the NHS!

Tempted to try them. Couldn't work if I didn't have my specs though, even for a few days. My others get very heavy and cause sinus pain if I wear them for more than 10-15 minutes.

Good! I use the same specs for computer and work. The heavier ones are in the kitchen for reading briefly, and my last prescription is on the bedside for when I read before sleeping ..lucky if it's for more than a couple of minutes lately, but usually up to around 15 minutes.

I have a separate pair for driving ...very mild prescription.
I do know I need an eye test though ...just not as sharp as it should be, but I only really notice it when working as it's detailed/precise.

It bottom feeds thru' a hole in the base of the deck Bob,rather than the others i've seen. There is a first look vid on YT by a scottish guy just back from VF.It was actually realeased at VF.
Had a quick look at that vid, and that is how they should feed, it's just that a lot of atties have a centre post so they feed through the post, but the hole should be as close to the base as possible so that the excess juice feeds back into the bottle, the one on Vapor-Z at the moment is NOT the BF one though, will have a word with them to see if they will be getting it.

They offered me varifocals,do you have any knowledge of how they are Trish? They said a couple of things that put me off.
And the fact they offered a 60 day return made me think they are not for some people

I used to wear varifocals, and preferred them to bi-focals, but they do take some getting used to, at first, like when going down stairs, you have to be very careful not to look through the bottom part of the lens and end up missing a step.

For one thing, my distance vision isn't bad enough to need them all the time - they just insisted on some for driving! (If I had an accident and hadn't been using driving specs, I'd be in more trouble!).
Secondly, I couldn't wear them due to the vertigo - it's better than it was at the moment, but I still can't walk around with my specs on, and they are shallow lens, but if I happen to look down wearing them, I go very dizzy due to the distance between my eyes and the ground.

But, my Dad changed from bi-focals to varifocals and it took him a long time to get used to them - in fact, I'm not 100% sure he didn't go back to the bi-focals.

I did once ask about bi-focal contact lens and the optician put me right off them! He said they were very hit and miss to get a properly usable lens.

That's exactly my though on eye surgery. It would be just ,y luck. A lot end up being done as eyesight worsens again.

So what do you think of the flat drip tips?

I just sent over payment to another member for a like new tai fun gt 2! My first authentic that wasn't a mass produced tank like mow, manger, etc.

Yes - to me, eyes are way too precious and irreplaceable to 'tinker' around with them knowing how often things can go wrong for me!

So what do you think of the flat drip tips?
I like them - I prefer a reasonably tight draw a bit like a well packed filter tip cigarette would give, and the flat ones are pretty good. The wide bore ones just make me feel as though I'm taking in air, and seem less satisfying.
I'm not a fan of metal ones, but have become more used to them if they're narrower ...no more than, or similar to the 510 part that fits onto the tank.
The acrylic flat ones are fine for me when needed to replace a wider bore one. Only way to know if they'll suit you is pop one in your next order. The one I linked to is the one that fits best of the flat ones I got from FT.

I tend to use whatever works best for what, and with the least 'fuss'.
As such, I even still use a few Evod tanks as I find the basic single coils work better with liquids that can clog coils faster, I use eMOW std. and mega, Subtanks, have a few eLeaf Air M, and Nautilus mini.
