Well, after 10 days in Croatia I'm back and fully restored. I hope that you're all well - and especially that Pictor continues to improve.
Glad you enjoyed such a good holiday :)
Thanks for asking: I seem to be treading water with things, and have had a couple of pretty bad days - consultant seems to think it's needing time, so I'll go with that as long as I don't end up an emergency again, and end up in a bad (for me) hospital. There's more 'stuff' ahead, so I'm hoping things improve.
Right now, if I get 5 hours uninterrupted sleep it's a wonder

Beyond Vape's Silo range - takes nautilus or Atlantis coils depending on which Silo you get as well as their own coils, you can use your own Drip Tips so can use a narrower one,
I don't need anything new, but the fact that these give more flavour is tempting! :)

Are the nautilus coils really good enough to compare with other more
Recent coils? I get that they're the go to choice for mouth to lung vapors bt was it the nautilus tank that was the let down ? Ill was it the coils? I see them used in a fair amount of other tanks with people praising them. I just have doubts unless they reengineered the bvc coils with a new cotton and larger holes they will really work well enough. But maybe it was the nautilus or
Lack of air or something. I wish I'd kept one of them now as a reference. I gave them all to a new vapor.

I will look at the silo collection thank
You. The kabuki is $79 with coupon.

Terrific! Really nice to see that :)
Thought it might cheer you up a bit, good to see you back on here, but still take it easy, went up to King's this morning to see the Physio and they are looking at getting me into an exercise program, to help me lose the spare tyre & get me back in shape

A lot of peeps didn't like the Nautilus tank, but did like the Mini version which takes the same coils, so yes possibly the tank that was the problem, you can also get Atlantis coils in a 1.0 ohm version for MTL so any tank that takes Atlantis coils and can accept a normal Drip Tip would also suffice, Atlantis v1, Silo Beast but not Atlantis v2.

I've just got a couple of Beyond Vapes Silos. To be honest they are very tight after subtanks and Lemos. I need more airflow now.
Alternatives to Subtanks are, Uwell Crown, Aspire Atlantis or Triton (steel or ni200 coils), the new SMOK TFV4 (lots of expensive coils) or the new Innokin iSub Apex (only Kanthal coils at the moment), or the Silo Beast which takes Atlantis coils.

EDIT: SMOK TFV4 is 24.5mm diameter, there is a Mini in the offing at 22mm

I had both the Full size and two nautilus mini and honestly outside of this recent need i haven't thought once about them since moving on. But it very well could be the air flow was the issue.

The sub ohm tanks that have non sub coils are an interesting dichotomy to me. The design is built for making clouds. So they have larger collection chambers and larger chimneys. Both of these run contrary to concentrated flavor tanks made for mouth to lung. The ones I've tried (Atlantis v1 and subtank mini) both created a very hot vape when getting anything other than anemic amounts that wasn't great for flavor when using 1.2 and similar coils. It seems like they're making these coils to try and shift people to a one size fits all tank that doesn't really work well for cigarette like draws even with air shut down. But they can then say they do offer it.

It's entirely possible some subohm tanks exist that do better than these two for higher ohm Vaping but from looking at design it seems unlikely.

All that said eventually I have to decide. So far the ego one tanks with rebuild able coils built to nickel around .08 seem to be the best of both worlds. If there is one tank that fits the mold. I don't know how the mega tank is but the little ego one tanks have a lot of flavor this way. Way more than it would seem using their coils built their way. The clr coils built with nickel are probably not going to be beaten so I guess I have to resign to building four lacks of those before surgery and buying s mega tank for $15. It seems to be the most affordable solution.

I appreciate all the guidance. I'm wary of the bvc nautilus coils because I'm just not sure they'd wick most of what I vape and the nautilus tanks didn't impress me. I'm wary of the sub ohm tanks shut down due to previous experiences.

I guess I have to get off the pot so to speak or settle for ego one clr coils I build in bulk

I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some
Obvious choice by it seems the bvc nautilus coils are still the standard for mouth to lung. It's just really hard to go back to that after using organic coils without filler material that have good wick holes.

Didn't aspire redesign the nautilus bvc coils With bigger wick holes? Has anyone bought any recently and can post a picture?

Thanks so much everyone !

Just replying to this before anything else - I used to use two mini Nautilus, but the coils seemed to go through a bad patch, and also the tanks had a bit of a quirk in that they needed to be slightly loosened off after using a new coil/refilling before they'd work properly ..I got fed up and turned to e MOW and Subtank mini's, but do have the newer coils to try in one when I get around to it:

I only have the Silo Beast with sub-ohm coils, but have heard good reports about the smaller Silo and Silo Lite, and the Beast is much better than the Subbys
I like the 5ml capacity and the option of a tighter draw ..hate loose ones, and also like to use a narrower drip tip. I do like the eMOW mega tanks that I have, but am tempted by the extra flavour reported by users of the Silo.
I've ordered one from ProVapes - worth trying I think as I certainly don't love the Triton.

Using this stuff never crossed my mind in hospital - was too weary and not at all interested. I still don't use a lot, and I'm going to try sand keep it this way because for one thing I don't know if the VG, flavours etc. can irritate the colitis in it's current state, and for another, it would be nice to retain this minimal level of nicotine dependence if I can.

Thought it might cheer you up a bit, good to see you back on here, but still take it easy, went up to King's this morning to see the Physio and they are looking at getting me into an exercise program, to help me lose the spare tyre & get me back in shape
I am around every day, and read what you're all talking about, but sometimes I haven't any brain energy never mind the physical kind  I am taking it easy, but as yet I have little choice. Apart from pain, the steroids also make me very tired, and the effects of the illness apparently take a long time to recover from (once it starts on a recovery path!). Oh dear! ..can you tell how fed up I am

I was wondering if you'd fully recovered from your procedure. Hope the exercise programme works well. We lost almost 2 stones each three years ago when I changed the way we eat to get my husbands cholesterol down. He does 7 minutes cardio on an elliptical trainer each morning after walking the dog for 45minutes, so that's his exercise. He needed to lose that much, but I'd perhaps have been better with losing just one stone :) This illness has left me a bit underweight for now.
I'll need to remain optimistic and hope the tablets start to do what they're supposed to in the coming week.

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. Nicotine for sure agitates colitis so it's good you're reducing. I hope you feel better really soon

Thanks so much for posting pics of the coils. That looks like a massive improvement. With Japanese cotton and better wick holes these are much more like mini Atlantis coils. Much better.

So the next question is the kabuki better than the silo by twice and a bit. The build quality is supposedly higher and I'm sure resale exists (kabuki) vs not much resale (silo) I have to think in the end one may spend less selling the kabuki on

Si the kabuki has a ton of complaints of breaking glass due to really far too tight o rings and bad grip. The coils also stick in the chimney. And the airflow is super sharp and can cut hands. Certainly not what I need overcoming neurological issues that have my hands not working properly. The silo max air flow is 2.5 mm I believe. Imthat seems like it would be enough as chimney is not more than 2 adding more air to that setup probably wouldn't be noticed.

Sweet cakes has really good deals on nautilus coils but I'm not sure they're the newer kind. How long ago did they change them. The standard look new. The temp control for $9 look old but it's hard to tell. The vapor shark have been poorly reviews and are expensive. Anyone used them with success?

By the way hang in there @Pictor. I'm sure you'll be feeling better soon. Keep resting
