Anna Soubry is now dead in the water as a Tory mp imho..
I'm on the Dragon's Milk tonight - a bit of a treat! Unlike the Sherbet Dumbledore - a bit lame with no fizz.

Yeah, that`s how i find their Apple Pie Pipe. If The other 2 i have are also a tad lame, i won`t bother with rejuiced again as it will only be the Custard i would be interested in, and i`ve got some Welsh Custard to make up to substitute that :)

Ta very much Trish :)

Yes, I like the way she refused permission for him to put it into action, another waste of taxpayers money by Boris on top of the stupidly expensive buses he bought for London
Well unlike the water canon, at least they didn't get scrapped ....did they?

="Pictor, post: 18090431, member: 12640":w00t:]I know little of Leadsome, but agree May was impressive, and we see a sense of humour too ...she had a snipe at Boris's water canon! :)

Was about to suggest Dianne Abbott, but perhaps not, it's uncharitable.
:w00t::w00t::w00t:
Oh, I know - All the voting, anxieties, elections and campaigning has brought out a dark side in me!

Back to the Tory race - I'd love to see May as PM and Leadsom as Chancellor. Tough, on point and steady - ideal!
I like her too - it was just her 'remain' vote that gave me doubts, but as long as she doesn't pull the strings in the background, her appointed 'out' voting minister will do nicely.

I've definitely decided I don't like Gove - who'd need friends like that, far less a Prime Minister!

I`m not sure it has to split, but needs a lot of reparation !
Optimistic as ever! :)

 You would be surprised at the old building stuff i keep hold of Trisha
Was thinking you had a nice little side-line set up with the Corleones!

I liked that Dragons Milk but it makes me wheeze! Some strawberry flavourings and other fruits do that with me.

Can't say I'm sad about that.

I always knew there was a dark side to you Trish
If I can be honest now Trish, i don`t give a Sh*te about any of the political parties right now, i`ve had a belly full of the lot of `em  Just want to concentrate on the signing of that bit of paper with ARTICLE 50 written across the top, and i will be happier :)
Aye Corleones  The Krays also spring to mind...Any new fly over`s being built right now ? Corbyn would fit in nicely

Then the fun will begin!
True, the politics we've had to endure is at saturation point ...and some ask for a second referendum because they didn't get what they wanted?! Heck no ...people would take to the cliff tops like lemmings in droves rather than go through another.

Still, Sturgeon has gone quiet since France & Spain threatened to leave if she was allowed to join the EU, and she did threaten to try and wreck our referendum if that happened - she probably can't, but she's nothing if not determined.

Let`s hope it stays that way eh  The sooner she get`s used to the notion that we ARE OUT the better. As I mentioned earlier, let`s get that article 50 done, then she can try whatever she want`s. I think most folk are past caring about her now.

I'm sure you're right in the long run, but never turn your back on your enemy! Keep her in clear sight, because she'd stab anyone in the back that got in her way.

Perhaps most Scottish people find her decisive and determined, but I for one don't want her anywhere near the running of our country.
As if we haven't had enough concern and uncertainty, she's the last irritation we need.

I wish it was possible for Article 50 to be triggered right away, and then begin the negotiations and working out.
The resignation of Cameron will have added valuable time to all that too.
No doubt there's much more to it than that, but most people would have expected a more rapid movement with such things - but no-one explained all that to us ...had they not even taken a look to get the gist of it themselves, so sure in their convictions that an 'out' vote would never win?

It will be interesting to see whether there is a return to Imperial measurements or not. Not sure that there would be much appetite for 240 pennies in a pound. :)

Having said that you can go into my local shop and ask for half a pound of streaky bacon. I don't think anyone there uses the metric system for such things.
To be honest I wish when we decided to bring in the metric, we had done so properly, but as per usual this country appears to be half-hearted about anything and everything, we measure most things in mm and meters, but drive a car and it's miles, go into a shop for some wood and it's a 2 by 4 inches, some of us still work with °F I know I do with TC Mods, but I use °C for weather - total madness

No, they are still running around, and like the bendy buses some passengers are not paying
We saw those on the news a few days ago - not sure if we like them or not ...plenty of glass for vision, but they don't look like 'proper' London buses!

A bit of light hearted fun for the pre 1971 amongst us : Baffling decimal currency to be phased out
Must admit that I wish they would stop using both metric & imperial and stick to just one thing - confuses the hell out of me sometimes, especially when you factor in American measurements as well
I still think in imperial for measurement and weight, not much for money!

I don't think it'll be top of the to do list! :)

I keep buying things at 500g or 0.5kg, and at first did find it took a while to get used to it. Once I recalled a kilo being 2.204-----lbs. (something I used at work) it was easiest to just regard 500g as being 1lb ...a generous one, but it does the job! :)

4 by 2 works for me! as for kilometres ...nope! With weather, I'm so used to seeing Celsius, I've just about forgotten the Farenheit equivalents now.
The mix we have seems more or less familiar for the time being, and life's too complicated at the moment anyway

Pipe, what was the Vapegoo juice like, better or not as good as Rejuiced?
They are presently offering 400ml for £30.

About the same as Rejuiced, really. Of the ones I've sampled - they were good, but not outstanding. You know, OK.

I'm beginning to wonder when we'll see anything at all happen regarding our exit.
Today, I've seen a quote from Gove that he doubts Article 50 will be triggered this year, and heard said that May stated that it won't be done until they have everything in place.

Are we seeing some sort of 'playing for time'?
Personally, I don't think leaving it that long is a good idea. Surely, by the time we have a new PM, they'll have enough of a basic plan drawn up to trigger Article 50, and then spend the time negotiating and ironing things out.

....as an aside ...I just saw on the news that Crabb is in second place behind May at the moment. ...don't care for him for the job at all ...(and he's another 'remain' voter)

I have similar views with Rejuiced ..OK, but nothing I'd bother with again.

Well, as someone once said, "The game's afoot!". Gove made a very impressive speech but it's often the case that the man who wields the knife doesn't wear the crown.
Andrea Leadsom is hugely impressive - but there are allegations of corruption in her past (see Eyes passim). The Wiki is quite clear on this - but she is still a very impressive and committed candidate.
Playing for time? The calling of time on article 50 is entirely within the power of the nation state that wishes to leave. The EU wants us to hurry because they want this whole episode pushed under the carpet . They are worried about their ambitions re: superstatedom (countries peeling off). They were even more worried by Ms Sturgeon turning up - the call of "Catalonia!" was heard throughout the land. So she flew home with good wishes and no hope at all. Interesting times!

When it comes to intrigue I think I'm going to have to chuck my Le Carre novels away and just watch telly.

Yes, and currently, he's behind Crabb (Don't like him much at all - sorry, I know you don't mind him).
After tonight, I wonder if we'll ever see Mr Gove as himself again instead of Mr Bean! (Seen on tonight's Press Preview).

Oh yes! A few skeletons in the cabinet cupboard ;)

I can understand the EU wanting us to get on with it, but there's plenty in this country think the intent should at least be triggered as soon as possible. Some are feeling that the whole thing may never happen, and that either some interference in the validity of the referendum (Sturgeon for one), or even a general election could alter the state of play.
There's also the issue of the whole thing needing approval before it gets finalised.

It all feels like a bit of a gamble as to whether they will actually get around to article 50, but I fervently hope they do keep the promise.
We also have Germany stating they won't make any firm decisions on this until after their election in 2017! ...and Angela Merkel is saying (according to Der Spiegel) that she intends stepping down before the end of this term.

It's certainly been a long week full of many questions, intrigue, ups and downs, and deep concern.
That it began last Friday with utter euphoria that we'd actually won, seems a distant joy today.
When it comes to intrigue I think I'm going to have to chuck my Le Carre novels away and just watch telly.

You like spy novels? ...they're my first choice of reading. In recent years it's been Charles Cumming, Daniel Silva (A series about an art restoring Mossad hit man), and a couple of others. A good Nelson De Mille too (The Charm School), and a few of Henry Porters books too.
