It's my beloved right now. Passed right by Hangsen Highway as my go-to. It does gunk a little faster, but worth it for me. Plus, I'm used to NETs, so by comparison it's clean.

You do any of the other For Pipes? I enjoy Black as well, though Dark is my #1. Planning to order some Gold and Jack too.
Nah, Dark's the only one I really thought was good. I tried all but gold (but I dislike "gold" tobaccos). Gunking is a huge enemy of mine, quit NETs for the same reason :)

I love the For Pipes. Black Cat is my #1 of all the INW flavours that I've tried so far. Black for Pipe is a close #2, then Dark for Pipe.

I do get gunking issues and after reading the comments from Exchaner and aceswired on the previous page here I'm going to rewick a couple of drippers tonight and space my coils out. It'll be interesting as I haven't vaped with spaced out coils for at least 2 years, but I only recently switched to using rayon. Sounds like I should have a read through the rayon thread.

Not as much variability on spacing as you're locked into the various SAE pitches (or metric). For precise temp control I don't rely on a chip, I target the sweet spot for the batt directly to give me as much variability in wattage as I may need. For example, I target 2.7018, 2.75 and 2.82mm with 25awg 7or8 turns. At the same wattage output I can get distinctively different performance and temp. Why? Because contrary to what we're used to it's not just about watts but power, juice and air flow. I use twisted for some juices. Like many, I find some recipes just taste better that way. They need to be spaced as it's more difficult to make them functional micros. I still use ribbon spaced and contact. Parallels and tandem coils. It's all good. But I use strain to optimize them all. Less waste, more flavor.

Thanks for this - great info! I use all mech mods so I'm reliant on the performance of the battery I'm using at the time. I wouldn't want to change this aspect of my vaping though.

Highly recommend the comparison. Especially if you're into deep rich flavors. Just bear in mind Kanthal benefits from good uniform oxidation whether spaced or closed. If for nothing else than that the highly thermally conductive ceramic layer isolates the juice media from underlying metals. Strain adds rigidity which deters warping and symmetry promotes uniform thermal transmission. Best of all worlds for keeping the coil cool (maximal vaporization). That's what delivers good flavor performance for dense complex recipes. As for accretion, hey…you get what you vape. Destroking a wind gets us less, not more. But more vapor, more flavor. Also more accretion. You can't get less from more. More efficient vaporization may produce faster or greater deposition. Rayon has its own attributes. If it fits your profile, it's superb. But it plays by the same rules.

Good luck. :)

I am about to order Dark for Pipe given the rave reviews I have seen. Could someone describe the flavor? Rich tobacco, light tobacco, Virginia type, Burley, Turkish? Besides tobacco, any nut, sweeter, caramel or vanilla in there?
Very dark and Earthy, lots of depth. Oaky notes. Rich, but little sweetness. Some say brown sugar, but I don't really get that. A bit NET-like. I mix at 3.33%, and steeping does matter. It's okay fresh, but takes off after a couple of weeks.

No need to add anything. It's deep and complete on its own.

I'm not great at describing but until someone better comes along, I'd consider it a "dark" possibly "rich" tobacco, with a beautiful flavor of rum (the rum is at the forefront fresh, fades into the background with age) and a nice hit of oak.

ETA was beat to it :D

I sold a good bit of my flavors recently but kept a few of the for pipe series for one more taste test down the line. I have a 100ml bottle of Dark For Pipe straight from Poland never opened. Dunno what I'll do with it, but nothing quite yet...I'll let you know though, thanks man :)

Question still up on the INA TA / Cuban Tab flavoring percentages in combo. Anyone runnin' that? Good luck. :)

I've been running the INW Cuban Cigar TA around 2% in most of my mixes as of late. I don't have the straight INW Cuban, so I can't opine on that concentrate. However, I can tell you that the INW Cuban Cigar TA mixes well with:
HS Hava
HS Cuba
HS CO (Cohiba)
SC Black n Mild
SC Maxx Blend
SC Cohiba

For those Cuban like concentrates that are on the dry side of things, I find the sweetness of the INW Cuban Cigar TA helps lift most of them out of the doldrums. And when I really need some lift, I employ the SB Nicotiana Rustica around .5% to 1%.

Yup; a dark, flavorful, slightly spicy and sweet, roll your, own type Virginia tobacco. I can taste a touch of deep smoked plum in this concentrate; very satisfying vape and great with a bit of INW Rum.

Perfect !! Right up my alley. Thanks everyone for helping.

Thanks! Since I figured that I should try using more coils so thicker Kanthal (and I find this much harder to work with) I've been using a coil jig and my coils have never been so neat!!!

Do you think a 6/7 coil set-up with a thick Kanthal wire is bound to perform much better than using 4 coils with thinner Kanthal? I stuck with the 4 coils for a very long time and then suddenly decided to change. From what you've said the neater coils using the jig could be the main thing that made all the difference!

I found the CC TA not quite as dry as you might think. I've had dryer. :D And some surprisingly pleasant sweetness I didn't expect in the mixes suggesting how well it does play with other tobacco's. Looking forward to the Rustica which should be here any day now. Trying both with some darker brews.

Noted, bookmarked. Thank you and good luck. :D

That's exactly what I'm getting from it, but I do taste a bit of brown sugar as well as a healthy dose of rum. LOVE this stuff as well as the black for pipe. Now that I think about it, time to get more :D
