I would be interested to know if the website is blocked due to US Govt restrictions, or local restrictions.

For example, Ironically enough, I just posted a thread in the Travel and ecig section about a nasty Run in I had while vaping in Saudi Arabia a few weeks ago. Also, there are some websites that I frerquent that have been blocked in countries that I travel to regularly... I see this happen most often in Kuwait, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia. Some are just completely off the wall! When I am in Kuwait, I can not access Myspace, or skype as the sites are blocked by the Kuwaiti Government, and Ministry of Communication!!!

Sorry to sidetrack, just thought your post was interesting...

Safe Travels!

It would be local restrictions.. I did tell my DH about your post and he wasn't suprised, was happy your encounter turned out much better then most.

At this point I wouldn't even trust a doctor telling them I use an e-cig because if the insurance company sees that they will use any excuse to deny coverage, remember insurance companys are in the money making business not the health business.

Paranoia. Doctor-patient is a privileged relationship. A doctor wouldn't tell an insurance company what you are doing. If they did, time to find a new doctor!

are they gonna try to ban this forum?

Of course not! The FDA can only ban importation, marketing, or sale of drug/drug device combos (as well as food stuffs) in the US. They do not have carte blanche banning power. It would take legislation to make e-cigarettes illegal to own/use in the US. That hasn't happened yet and there would have to be good reason to make it happen. The FDA is trying to sway public opinion as a start. Don't mentally give the FDA more power than they have.

do you know any FDA agent vaporing or member of ths forum?

I'm sure there are FDA employees vaping. The FDA is a big government agency with many employees. They're not a band of demons. Not all employees are investigators. Many are in clerical, secretarial, financial, and other mundane positions. Why wouldn't those people be vaping? They are normal people with normal boring jobs like everyone else.

That said, I'm also sure some of the investigators read posts here. They look for all resources if for nothing else than to have a complete picture of the market. Just because they publish FUD doesn't mean that's all they know.

And yes - money still determines all. Soldiers would be far less willing to fight if they weren't given their great benefits.... after all, every soldier/marine I know has told me that they fought because they didn't want to let down their team, not for their "government." I think our military wouldn't exist as a volunteer force if they weren't paid....
Every soldier out there 'works for the goverment" watch how you word things.

I'm not giving names or many details, but I've spoken to multiple suppliers who have customers that work for the FDA. Not that those customers can do anything to help our position though... they're just lackeys, no one with the power to do anything :(

Easy? Yes. Constitutional? Not so much.

LOL, yeah right. Back in the day I owned a web hosting company. Had thousands of customers. I wasn't aware of it, but one of my customers was operating a -- shall we say -- "inappropriate" web site on my network. One day the FBI contacted me and (cough) politely asked me to disable the account and forward to them all relevant information about the owner. There was some mention of a personal investigation, etc., if I chose not to comply. Enough said.

I'm off-topic now, yes, but...

The FBI made threats and you gave into their strong arm tactics. You could have said "I'm sorry, you'll have to talk to my lawyer." but, you made the choice to comply with the request. The US is a nation of laws and even the FBI must follow due process. There are laws about "safe haven" for ISP where you can't be held accountable for the bad customer's conduct. Also, the FBI would technically need a warrant/subpoena to get the info they wanted - unless you volunteered it.

If we forget or don't know we have rights, it's easy to lose them. But, Patriot Act and all other erosions aside, US citizens do still have rights and must be vigilant about keeping them.

Sorry for perpetuating the off-topic discussion.

True, but business is business. I don't exist to protect the rights of others at any cost. I'm a business, not a social avenger. The law is the law. Render unto Caesar, etc. etc.
